Good morning guys and happy Saturday! The all-new Chevy Tahoe is finally here and we're so excited to show you guys our thoughts on this very important new big SUV. For those of you wondering, we should be getting a chance to drive the new Yukon and Escalade later this year. Do you think that GM has really raised the bar with these new trucks? Let us know below!
GM 6.2L is not a "big block", it is the same block size as the 5.3, but larger bore and stroke. It is also not a small block... The LS engines have nothing in common with the old GM small or big block, not 1 part is interchangeable.. FYI GM has made the LS series engine available to 7.0L.
Nah man sorry but that front dash is ugly. Fuel economy didn’t improve that much either. With a really good refresh I feel like the Ford Expedition will still remain the number 1 pick.
Some clearly don't research the previous generation of vehicles when doing these reviews. Reviewers kept mentioning that Subaru finally got rid of the second display above the main infotainment screen for the new Outback/Legacy, but they never had that second display. I'm sure if we try hard enough we can think of other examples where they do this.
For all those saying these are too expensive i was at a Chevy dealership yesterday for about 6 hours and watched 5 of these brand new drive off the lot and 2 suburbans...you and i might can't afford them but apparently there are plenty of people out there who can
chrisak49 it’s actually far from a poor value. It’ll hold its resale value much better than the Germans you mentioned, it’ll be far more reliable and less costly to maintain, and tow more. It’ll sell for the MSRP initially, but later there will be the usual discounts. They’ll print money with these like they always have...
Kyle Loeffler Toyota had that way back, 90s 4runner had the wiper up top behind the spoiler. Not sure why they changed it afterwards but they brought it back for the 5th gen
From what I’ve seen online, these vehicles don’t depreciate that dramatically. In the segment, it seems that the Ford Expedition’s value drops like a nuclear bomb.
Danny Gray Not just them, as Jeeps have become crazy expensive. I can’t fathom paying over $40k for a wrangler given the poor build quality and lack of features when compared to competitors. Two of my uncles own Jeeps and they’re nightmares. I’d rather pay $40k for an Asian vehicle tbh.
That's what exactly what I'm been saying. And the nice used ones from 5-8 years ago had turned into baby mama/child support SUVS 😂😂😂. I feel SUVS has lost it's manly feel since the late 2000s.
Cory Stansbury While technically true, LS and LT Gen V engines are still the same series. Unlike the the original Gen I small block and the Gen II LT series engine. Calling the Gen V engine “LT” can confuse some people.
Why even make payments? Why lease, loan, finance, credit...? Why do so many Americans live above their means? Nobody needs such a giant land yacht of a vehicle & if you cannot afford it in cash, that almost certainly means you shouldn't be buying it. I'm debt free, bought my BMW pre owned in cash & never even had a credit card in my life... I don't get the reckless mentality, that's why so many don't have enough saved. New car prices have risen far quicker than wages & I know Toyota builds way better vehicles than Chevy.
̈ you have a bit to learn about finances if you put big chunks of money on a car when you can get new ones with 0%-3% interest. Your chunk could be growing at 7%+ and is much better used as an investment. Dave Ramsey is an idiot by the way.

Makes no sense. I have a ‘20 Escalade & the front turn signals & license plate bulbs are incandescent on that. I switched them out to LED but in today’s world, everything should be LED.
My favourite vehicle reviews by far. I’ve followed Redline reviews for year and I always enjoy watching a good review in new and different vehicles. Thank you
The only people saying "its overpriced" or "its too expensive" are those who cant afford one, so they just hate on it. I cant afford one either but I still love it. And the Ford Expedition starts around 52k, so the prices here are really nothing new. Chevy has more trim levels that have more features than the Ford, so thats why youll see an $80,000 tahoe. I think this Tahoe is one of the best yet. I would absolutely take this over the Expedition. Z71 looks great too.
i dont disagree with the pricing but once you spend over $75k over one of these its X7 and GLS territory unless you need the towing, those are better options interiorwise imo (though worth noting a v8 x7 is like $90k with options so ymmv) personally id hold out for the GMC one as i think it looks MUCH better
11:34 I don’t believe the gear selector is controversial at all if you know why it was done that way. I believe it’s a good design. It’s done prevent the vehicle from going into reverse or drive by accident. In the case that something hits the dash by mistake or you accidentally hit the wrong button. That’s why reverse and drive have to be pulled to be activated.
In 2008, I bought a Tahoe LT, which, at the time was the 2nd highest trim level, for $30k The price for a Tahoe today, is insane. That being said, I'd consider buying the Z71. Also, the push pull for the gear select is likely a safety feature, so you can't accidentally push drive or reverse. I enjoyed your review.
@@brynnleahnayvieghlaykynnn6175 we had got the new (3rd?) gen 07 Yukon Denali for like 45k I believe in 2007. Hell of a deal considering it had all the options except for the upgraded wheels and the nav system. Fully spec'd out with those options was around 52 I think. Still way cheaper than the 85 or whatever a Denali is today.
Have owned all generations of Tahoe and loved each of them. This one is definitely nice, but having gone to see them at the dealership, the cool factor that this car has is gone with the exception of the Z71 package. The edgy lines of previous models gave the car a sharpness that was clean and stylish. This one gives me a minivan vibe that I can’t put my finger on. Too rounded and bulbous, perhaps? Great vehicle, but in my opinion does not have the Tahoe vibe.
Very helpful video. This guy goes into the right amount of detail in his reviews and informs the consumer of his perceived areas of improvement for a vehicle in a professional manner. Takeaway: if you want a Z71 Tahoe, go with the 6.2 Liter offered in the more recent models.
I’ve had mine for 6 weeks. 3 things I don’t like are: auto stop has to be disabled every time you get in the car, only 24 gallon tank, and not a huge fan of the pull button to shift. Other than that I love it.
The Chevrolet Tahoe and Suburban, the GMC Yukon and Yukon XL, and the Cadillac Escalade account for 50% of all large SUV sales in the US. GM makes 340,000 of them every year and exports about 80,000 to 31 countries. They’re made in GM’s plant in Arlington, Texas, which is said to be the most profitable assembly plant in the world. We estimate they generate $20 billion in revenue for GM and about $4 billion in profits. Autoline Daily
For the price, I finally, at LONG last, agree with Sofyan that adaptive cruise control should be standard. I'm not sure what GM has against ACC in general because the new 2019 GM full-size trucks didn't offer it all. And even more perplexing is that this is the SAME GM that developed Super Cruise, one of the world's best autonomous driving systems available. Overall, the Tahoe has definitely reaffirmed its top spot in this class. Yes, this example is very pricey, but you can get it under $70k forgoing the air suspension(and its unknown reliability) and rear seat infotainment(bring your ipads/laptops kids). Chevy knocked it out of the park here...
Drove a brand new Silverado rental and it was not impressive. Dimensions seem off all over the truck and dashboard was just an eyesore. Also drove as if were missing it’s front shocks. Chevy also blew it on the blazer I think they need some new management.
Yeah, Ford put in the time and effort to make a Bronco that got 230,000 preorders in the span of 2 weeks. Chevy? Well, they made another generic crossover that looks like the other 10 crossovers in their lineup. Not only did they butcher the Blazer but they butchered the Trailblazer too.
Love this truck. And in black Lord Vader's ride is indeed ready. Goes perfectly with those those white Storm trooper sunglasses, and a couple of chrome teeth.
I like the linear window configuration of the previous model. The taller profile makes the Tahoe looks chunky. The exterior tolerance is tight which is a good thing.
I swear I hate those incandescent light bulbs for a turn signal. Totally takes an otherwise handsomely aggressive exterior and cheapens it. Regarding the interior, for crying out loud Chevy, please bring an all TFT screen.
@@mikefj2004 Sorry I meant higher end Like the Caddilac. I know they are different brands. Should have said that. But like GMC has the Multi Pro Tailgate on the Pickup. Cadillac is the only one with the huge curved display. They gotta have some exclusivity to be baller ya know. 🤣
With all these luxury features they're adding to the Tahoe, I wonder if it's going to cannibalize Yukon sales. Seems like the only difference between them at this point is aesthetic
Yukon [denali] has a mildly different interior. Made for the people that want more than a tahoe but do not want the associated upper class-ness of the escalade.
On another topic. What's your thoughts on Acura TLX TYPE S power numbers? You believe they are the actual Type S numbers or lower trim V6 numbers? I've been arguing that they announced at reveal, more than 50% more torque than outgoing V6 models. 267tq at only 50% = 400.5tq. They are claiming 355hp and 354tq now. I believe these are the Tech/Advanced/Aspec numbers & they still haven't given the Type S numbers. IMO. Just wondering your thoughts??
@@ShaiyanHossain no the base 4cyl are the 2.0 turbo. 272hp & 280tq. Then it goes up to V6 turbos. Both models have same trim levels (Tech/Advanced/Aspec). Type S is the top model

I have no kids. I have no intentions on getting married in the next year. Also, I own a Jeep I rock climb occasionally. Furthermore, I hate over priced Chevy vehicles and I’m 20 minutes into this video review about a Z71 Tahoe. Holy shit man, Redline Reviews, great video and opinions!
I am really interested in the diesel variant coming out this MY for Chevy/GMC/Cadillac. Then consumers have a choice for a large SUV that can tow also at different price points and luxury needs (actually it’s more a want) but still with good gas mileage and torque.
This SUV is massive and has an aggressive look. The back looks like an old teachers rear end. Wide and not attractive. But I like the hidden wiper. Panoramic roof and windows doesn't make it seem so dark and great visibility... Lol at least from my angle. Lol... He said the seats support wide American frames. How do you know I have been gaining weight in isolation. I LOVE watching your videos. So proud of you and how far your branding is going and continue to grow. Wish you the best and success. The watch and the sunglasses will last longer than any GM product.
paul nelson well it will last alot longer then any ford product.
I like the linear window configuration of the previous model. The taller profile makes the Tahoe looks chunky. The exterior tolerance is tight which is a good thing.
I like the room, I just don’t like what’s under the hood. I hope they make an EV version some day.
Let’s pray they never do.
I swear I hate those incandescent light bulbs for a turn signal. Totally takes an otherwise handsomely aggressive exterior and cheapens it. Regarding the interior, for crying out loud Chevy, please bring an all TFT screen.
The full digital display is for higher end models. Personally I prefer Analog gauges at least for the Speedo and Tach.
Geoff Moore Oh how I wish that were true. None of the trims come with a full digital cockpit.
Sofyan first used the "gaping maw" description for the new Toyota Avalon and I think that term fits for this new Tahoe.
Great review! Rear end is giving me Expedition/Explorer vibes with those taillights
I look foreword to buying one of these in 6-8 years when it depreciates to my budget where I can be the 3rd or 5th owner!
Ain't nothing wrong with that homie. I have bought cars brand new and learned my lesson from them. Now I purchased when they are 5 years old
Is there a feature that if you open the drivers door when stopped it automatically shifts into park?
this thing looks AWESOME!
That hidden rear wiper was featured in the last gen tahoe
Really like the new front for Chevy's
As a 'W I D E' American I appreciate it lol
I see a lot of the Cadillac Escalate mostly on the side and back
It’s reminiscent of the Tahoe from 1995. Great clean styling and room for cargo.
"supports a wider frame for the Americans". Chevy on top of the market
Literally the most beautiful!! 🙏🏽
With all these luxury features they're adding to the Tahoe, I wonder if it's going to cannibalize Yukon sales. Seems like the only difference between them at this point is aesthetic
The Yukon Denali is more of a status symbol. That’s why they added the new interior to that model. I think both have a place in the lineup
355hp for a 2.0l turbo (what every non type s will have) is doable but optimistic for honda in factor stock tune
@@ShaiyanHossain no the base 4cyl are the 2.0 turbo. 272hp & 280tq. Then it goes up to V6 turbos. Both models have same trim levels (Tech/Advanced/Aspec). Type S is the top model
We were hoping for more power than 355, but are waiting for the official numbers from Acura.
this one looks like it had the button of the sliding console, but idk maybe i’m wrong. i thought it was that button by the tailgate switch
I work for G.M Arlington where they build this truck and I am definitely getting one after I pay for my Honda.
I don´t understand why people hate so much Chevy, especially their designs. For me, this is a very good-looking SUV.
Their reliability is questionable and interiors are usually lackluster compared to their competitors.
@@kevinnorris6558 I agree, but exterior design is not that bad.
The wiper on my 16 Yukon is up top hidden.
only thing I dont like is the shifter have to take hands off the wheel to down shift up shift, dont need 3 rows like to do a overlanding /car camping can't build my kit with 3rd row seats folded down
I really have no need owning a big SUV...but I've always had a thing for the Tahoe.
Best review I've seen on this... But I have one just like this except I have an illuminated bowtie
If you want the 6.2L and not go after the High Country models, wait for the LT or 2022 models and the option.
Not a big fan of Chevrolet, but they did a great job on that new Tahoe. Kudos
The rear wiper was placed up top in 2015.
Can't wait for the next video.
Nicole Johnson agree with you about looks, the front is not attractive at all. As for branding,I wished there was not the watch adverts
@@GA-wq8xq I like the Redline gear
Nicole Johnson yes the merchandise looks good. I was thinking more on the sponsored slots
