This is a Motormouth couple car review of the all-new Chevrolet Tahoe full-size body-on-frame SUV. The Chevrolet Tahoe is part of a whole new fleet of full-size SUVs from GM including the GMC Yukon, Chevrolet Suburban and Cadillac Escalade. What’s new for 2021? It’s all new, where do I start. Chevrolet added a 3L Duramax Turbo Diesel inline-six with a 10-speed automatic transmission. It has 227 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque.
You can also get the standard 5.3L V8 engine with 355 horsepower and 383 lb-ft of torque or the 6.2L V8 with 420 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque, which is only offered on the top trim. Although the diesel engine offers the least amount of horsepower, it’s the torque that is terrific. One of the biggest changes for the Tahoe is going from a solid rear axle to an independent rear suspension. This opens up the cabin space for passengers and improves its ride quality. Making this change required that an entirely new chassis be developed for this SUV and allowed the rear floor to be lowered. Chevrolet increased the wheelbase of this new Tahoe by 4.9 inches and the overall length by 6.7 inches. This adds 10.2 cubic feet behind the 3rd row. Many complained that there wasn’t enough cargo space when all rows were in use in the previous model. The Tahoe looks bolder than the outgoing model with slimmer LED headlights and LED accents that wrap around a large centre grille. Our test model RST Diesel has a sporty look to it with a black grille, black accents throughout, 22” high gloss black wheels, black roof mounted side rails, body colour door handles and mirror caps, as well as, deep tinted glass. The new Chevrolet Tahoe is bigger than before. With an extra 3 inches more space in the 2nd row, 10 inches more in the 3rd row and 10.2 cubic feet more cargo space with all three rows of seats in place, you’ll have no problem spreading out.
The new interior feels more upscale with soft materials being used throughout and perforated leather appointed seats in our test model, RST trim. A push/pull button shifter is new replacing the old column shifter. Time will tell how people will feel about this change. This 7-9 passenger Tahoe comes standard with a 10.2” touchscreen and a 4.2” driver display, a Bose 9-speaker sound system, heated leather front seats, 10-way power driver and front passenger seats, driver seat memory and a hands-free power liftgate. Optional features include, an 8” driver display, 10-speaker Bose sound system, a class leading 15” head up display and dual 12.6” tablets for rear seat entertainment area for $2,865 CAD/$2,490 USD.
Wondering how Chevy configures this Tahoe to be a 9-seater? There is an option to put 3 bench seats in each row.

Diesel Hp is 277, not 227. And we thought we were perfect... Haha
Nice review keep up the good work
I’d definitely get the diesel.
Diesel harder to maintain??
I own a 2008 Tahoe 5.3 and I absolutely love it!!!! By far the best vehicle I’ve ever owned sure it’s not so great on gas but has tons of power and cargo space
This is definitely a perfect SUV for the family, including mine, of which we are 7. There are 3 spacious and comfortable rows and a great trunk. And if you take into account the upper part of the part of the trunk where the height of the windows is, is even better. USA sure makes the best family cars. I wish Chevy commercialize this car in my country
I took a road trip in an Expedition in the spring. My family of five had room to spare. I definitely understand why families buy these SUVs. These are true seven-seaters.
They're for the rich though
@@nickr3441 Nah, the rich don't waste money on cars. The broke wanting to look rich finance these things in 84 "0%" payments and live pay cheque to pay cheque.
@@nickr3441 They are pricey! We got a great deal on our rental. The experience was so worth it!
@@deniscdyck Wrong. Rich guys buy these for their wives every day.
If there's anything that GM always got it right, its their full-size SUV. Their full-size SUVs really combined the towing capability and luxurious appointments. To be honest, their full-size SUV is even better than those of their full-size trucks.
I ordered a duramax 3L on LT trim and is expected to come in January and since then I watched at least 10 different reviews. This is the most pleasant, non boring and concise review on YT. Everyday I love this car more and more and mostly because of the small diesel engine. And thank you for not wearing a mask. Really enjoyed watching.
Great choice, you will love it! Thanks for watching!
I'm becoming a fan of your reviews.
You two do a great job of keeping it fun without showing brand bias.
Keep up the good work.
Thanks for the kind words!
this is now one of my most entertaining shows on youtube. you two are great.
Wow, thanks for that!
I’m not a fan of any Chevys except the C8 & Camaro yet watching this one simply because it’s you two - love your channel; thanks for your hard work & dope reviews! 🔥
Our pleasure!
Love the lightning round add to these reviews. Great job as always Mr & Mrs Spencer.
Thank you, glad you like it!
My girlfriend has a 2021 Tahoe it’s the Z71 trim with the 5.3 litre V8 it’s got the luxury package and towing package with the rear media for the kids and the $995 iridescent Pearl tricoat paint option ours is a 7 seat model we bought it as an inbound unit cause of the chip shortstop it tows a good amount as well
Sugar mama?
@@nickr3441 def a sugar mama! Don’t know anyone in my age owns a brand new Tahoe.
@@Wolfgangersen it's not a main stream car. Only for the rich. Noway can you pay rent/mortgage and pay 80K working a regular job
@@nickr3441 I work a regular job and I bought the same Z71 described above for my wife. Open to questions about that.
my issue with the new tahoe and suburban,
why did chevy change the iconic column shifter
Never had a problem with the column shifter. If there was an option for column I would get it.
Love the Diesel option! That truly makes this vehicle desirable! Awesome review Andrea!🙌💥
SUVs get bigger, while parking spots get smaller.
It's fine because owner's of these monster SUVs just take up 2 parking spots.
@@davidjym I love these but living in Toronto it’s a no go. If I lived in the burbs or country I would love one.
@@SuperEtab even downtown Toronto is fine if you take 2 parking spaces.
@@davidjym if you can fine 2 parking spots and no jerks will scratch your SUV when you take 2spots…….
@@eggheadegghead so the jerk is the person who scratched these monster SUVs that takes up 2 parking spots.
I tease and poke fun at these giant SUV’s because I’m legit jealous that I don’t own one.
me to but dont need a 7-9 pass family car
whats the factory option code for andrea
They look the best in this trim and in the high country trim 👍
bought the wife a yukon at4 its a beast. Good to haul a family of 5 around for sure and tons of room.
Nice review.......you guys work well together.
Great review! I need to win the lottery so I can buy a large SUV, a small SUV and a car. So many great choices.
Thank you, glad you enjoyed the review.
Button shifters for automatics are great! Heck, even Ford had to figure out a way to get their bulky shifter out of the way when needed, but that only works in park. Bulky shifters are a thing of the past and for good reason.
Excellent video, thanks 🙏 and tell me something the new armada 5.3 litters or Chevy Tahoe 5.3 ?
Awesome review of the Tahoe Andrea and Zack! Chev has stepped up their game!
Probably GMs best looking vehicle in and out. Unfortunately, I don't have 80K
Not buying the interior. It is improved over last generation but still underwhelming and dated for the price. The only GM vehicle with a decent interior is the new Escalade, but then that is a whole lot more expensive than this.
Another great video guys ! Can’t wait for the next 1 !
Thank you so much!
I love this car Chevrolet Tahoe Rst 2022
Hot Topic twice in one week!? The Motormouth Gods are smiling on me! LOL Great review & thanks for all the excellent info!
Go for 3! Thanks for participating and for all the support.
We got the 2021 Suburban and we love it. 3 girls under the ages of 7. Having a big car like the Suburban (or Tahoe) is pretty much required. Lets just hope gas prices start going down again...
"it looks tiny" -Zach.
"That's what she said"
Love the truck. Also love the clean Diesel engine. Too bad the German car makers left this space in North America. Great video.
Thanks, glad you liked it.
GLS, X7 are gone?
Great review!
That thing’s enormous!
and the suburban is bigger!
@@harrisonstreet8598 than you have to be very good at parking:))
@@chomihai i am, I've parked F250's that were longer.
everyone in my family including me, drives backwards in the driveway.
people ask sometimes, how the hell you do that.
well back in the day, im a late 90's kid, and back in 2001,
manuverability was something you had to do over and over.
on top of that, you learn to back up slowly.
so when dealing with a big vehicle, you learn to be familiar with
all the blindspots. backup cameras and alert sensors weren't
a thing in 2001, so you trained yourself in how to see
and look for everything.
i don't have a need for a vehicle that big, but if you have a big family
like mine, that's why you need a Tahoe.
the old one's weren't very practical for families, but these new one's
offer best in class seating capacity. And if that ain't enough,
the Suburban is available with even more cargo room.
i couldn't fit that in my garage, my sisters Tahoe is a tight squeeze in her
garage, so i can only imagine trying to fit that in.
I actually would love the beach seat in the front. I really wish it had a column shifter instead of the crappy buttons
I've always liked (split) bench seats.
great video! a slip of the tongue, but it's 277 hp, 460 lb-ft
The Chevrolet Tahoe and Suburban, the GMC Yukon and Yukon XL, and the Cadillac Escalade account for 50% of all large SUV sales in the US. GM makes 340,000 of them every year and exports about 80,000 to 31 countries. They’re made in GM’s plant in Arlington, Texas, which is said to be the most profitable assembly plant in the world. We estimate they generate $20 billion in revenue for GM and about $4 billion in profits. Autoline Daily.
Good info.
I guess the second largest buyer is the mexican cartel :)
I wanna see this VS a Wagoneer
It's a living room on wheels I like a full-size SUV but I don't have any use for it Nice review
I love your reviews! You guys have such good chemistry, and you guys make it fun.
Thanks for the kind words!
Wow, thank you so much!
You should really do a comparison between the 2023 Tahoe Duramax and 2023 Jeep Wagoneer Inline 6 Turbo vehicles
How is the Tahoe on the long run, does it have issues after 5 years usage.
Thanks for your reviews 🙂
Why does your seatbelts look different
On my list. But the chip shortage is causing major supply issues.
Closest thing to this size in Europe is the courtesy bus at the airport!
How do you guys feel about the Tahoe vs. Yukon? In the US you can equip the Yukon with the diesel, so mechanically they _appear_ to be the same. Is it all in appearance, then? I have to admit I prefer the look of the Yukon, but I am curious if there are some hidden differences that are not obvious.
Basically the same
BIg Truck, Big Review. Always on point
Seeing so many "soft surfaces" in other vehicles quickly degrade, I'm not too upset by hard plastics any more. They last so much longer and look brand new forever.
I'd be in the Yukon AT4 right now if they could fit this diesel in the redone front end for that version.
The fuel economy on this behemoth is astounding, it actually might outperform some entry level crossover SUVs, but it's not practical owning one of these while living in a big city like NYC. Good luck finding a parking spot that fits it without wrecking other cars parked.
Glad the cargo space has grown 🤣 ive owned a few and always surprised me how little room it really had
I don’t know about that rear suspension. Sometimes it looks weird when you see them. It is sitting too close to the ground.
I'm not a Chevy truck fan but damn if that front design isn't future. Those lights man.
Great video! Thanks!
You're welcome!
It's elegant. And beautiful.... Beautiful new shape... It's really vip prefer cars
What a beauty of a car (SUV)!!
Yes, great looking!
The button shifters make it feel like an appliance
Tahoe is awesome car~! but my car is traverse 20MY and will buy one more later. Thanks
I’ve had my 2021 Tahoe premier for a year, only used it for 8 months. 27,000 miles. I average 5 recalls per oil change. It recently sounded supercharged without the power 🤷🏼♂️. Maybe wait to purchase yours until parts are no longer made in China as there is a shortage of chips. On chip required my truck to remain on a lift for 3 days. The dealership didn’t have any extra and no one close was willing to part with theirs. Buyer beware 🤙🏻
I am ordering a diesel premier. Do you regret that trim? I love the Z71 but I am torn!
Good review! Chevy over Ford!
Thank you!
Things you like/would like to see changed: we call that Plus/Delta where I work.
GM obviously has not figured out how to make a reliable hybrid yet.
Nice tahoe. Interesting drivetrain.
I just watch to see you guys lol this car is tooooo big on size and price for my family to even think about it !!!
Thanks for watching!
Hey, as usual, very good report for a car which, for me, is ridiculous in 2021 with all our environmental issues. Hope they will soon disappear.
There are no environmental issues. Shut up
You hope they will soon disappear yet they have never been in more demand. Tells you no matter what nonsense people say, money talks. They are great trucks and make a lot of sense in North America
@@Ryan2022 you ignorant
Nice review…think this might be top of my wife’s list for next SUV. We just got a Ram 2500 and it took a bit of getting used to the rotary shifter, but I actually like in now…and the big benefit is the massive console storage. You didn’t really show it in the review, but I’m assuming it’s quite large as well?
It looks like that U guys just met. Your acting for the camera gives that impression.
What is all this consternation from reviewers about the electronic shift buttons?? They save space and are actually easier to user once you spend a few days in the vehicle. Welcome to the 21st century!!
The diesel is amazing at getting great fuel milage. Your talking better mileage than a small SUV
Diesels need to be used more in today’s vehicles for better fuel milage.
My Colorado diesel is amazing to drive and gets great mileage….
alot of truck..for alot of money...if you are a fan of these...would agree..the one to get...fuel mileage is really good for something this large..
That rear tailgate area is hideous it seems so squished together and the huge chrome ornament is tacky. Why they gotta mess with a good thing??
I agree, i love everything about it besides the rear end.
I am not a fan of the button shifters either. I have it on my Pilot and I think it's a stupid decision from Honda. I do prefer the electronic parking brake however (which Pilot does not have).
$81k before taxes for a basic Tahoe. Not a High Country, or a Yukon Denali
Thumbs down on getting rid of the fog lights….ALL models…….Just got a Premier off the rack…..Should have in my possession next week!
Surprised that full size suv's are as hot as they are considering the rising price of gas.
GM dealerships can't keep them on the lot. Trucks and SUVs are the bulk of their sales.
Soon families will be buying school buses to drive LOL
Andria is pretty hot 🔥 Zach you lucky bastard
What monster vehicle and it’s bigger than you guys! It should be use as a school bus! 👍🏻👍🏻🙃 P.S. You guys sound a little bit farther from mike as well. 😆
Thank for watching! It really is huge!
@@andreaspencer9813 You are so very welcome Andrea! 👍🏻👊🏻
I hope it's released in Korea.
THE SUBURBAN PLEASE!
$80k… yikes…. That interior already looks dated. Great review..
Brand new!
Oh I like that!
Looks cool, but Ill wait 2 years and get a good low miles used one for $25,000
Did you miss the part of the review which indicated a resale value of 61% after 5 years????
"...it's just so huge." That's what she said. 0:15

10:53 most pick up truck drivers in AB 🤣
4:28 and Ford.
I'm Sean things all those it looks like a Kia carnival on steroids?
When you guys switched places for coffee I get a commercial for a Ram truck and Mint chewing Gum 🤷♂️🤷♂️ UA-cam algorithms working well today🤔🤔 Even living in Alberta I shake my head when I see these on the roads. Just a complete waste of money unless you have like 6 kids 🤷♂️🤷♂️ I watched a lady fuel one the other day it was almost $200 I left at $46 🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️
I really think gmc makes these for the secret service 🤔.
Those botton shifters are absolutely stupid idea! They should be replaced by real good old wire-operated stick shifter, hopefully!
제발 한국에 좀 들어와라 디젤로ㅠㅠ 바로 살텐데..ㅠㅠ
A truck this size poses a huge danger to pedestrians and other cars. Lack of standards safety features is shameful! Consider the middle seats on the bench have no middle head rest either. Shame shame.
Agree with you. This is ridiculous.
Apparently this is completely legal
Ummmm bigger vehicles have existed and the biggest trucks like 18 wheelers and dump trucks have none of the camera tech a car has. Where have you been living in the past, I don't know, 6 decades?
@@IKhanNot No, in Europe where we are more conscious of the climate
@@jrr3558 No in Europe you guys are taxed to death and regulated to all hell on things that don’t improve the climate but make the top 1% billions of dollars. Improving the climate should be everyone’s goal but paying into a racketeering system isn’t the way.
Please review ur daily needs, and factor the gas, before buying. Review what happened in the 70s
WTH, I watched a video from years ago with Andrea and she's reverse aging.
When I see these big pigs... I'm talking about the truck.... driving around downtown I always see a 5'3" woman driving it with nobody else in it. I don't get it. You can't park this thing in downtown Toronto, why would they buy something like this unless they are running crates of drugs up to Woodbridge... LOL. Wait does that thing come with an intercom?
🥳🥳🥳
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
What a joke of a car...80K+ with some desirable options. The Tahoe has now become the Suburban with the laughably absurd size increases. Just another soccer-mom-with-rich-husband car, even bigger this time so she can hog and block the left lane even more effectively!
What is with the irrational anger towards a vehicle and women? Please seek counseling.
@@harrismi7 jus ranting on Chevy's crap
diesel is dinosaur. this as GM is saying all EV LOL
Last hurrah for sure. But that 35+ mpg from the 3.0T diesel at the highway speed limit is not even bested by Sienna Hybrid in the real world!
Nobody will buy Nissan Amanda
Bet you’d get more views if the talking head dude wasn’t in the video,
