I really love so much that Melanie got to experience the love and support the US has for our gymnasts! I know other countries don't get the support for their programs the "Big 4" Nations do, so I truly am happy to hear her say she felt so proud, accomplished, and supported by the crowd and the general experience training in the States!! It really makes me proud as a Gymfan in the US! 😭 As a proud Mexican, I also wish Alexa Moreno (and other MX girls!) could come and experience some of that, too! ❤ Good luck to this young lady, and I'm going to watching for her and rooting for her in Antwerp!! ❤
@likeisaidjenkins3689 It's so nice! I watched her UB set, and every time she would do a release or transition from high/low bar, the crowd cheered and clapped when she caught the bar! And ofc, they all cheered and screamed when she finished! 😭
What is not to love about her! I followed her as a jr and so happy she decided to continue with the sport and sought out coach who are a great fit for her.
It’s so funny hearing her say what she likes about Texas food is the barbecue. As a Texan, they take their meat very seriously here lol 😂😂😂 Glad to know she’s enjoying the experience!
I'm a Texan too and we really do lmao. I don't think I've ever been to a bad barbecue place here and I'd eat it all the time if it wasn't bad for you 🥲
Laurent teasing her to speak English...how cute! It's all love. I'm glad she had the experience. She has that in her diary. Keep putting the WCC on the map. Caching! 💰💰💰
Livie had interviewed her the day before in french so she knew what she meant and Melanie couldn't elaborate too much on her answers since the interpreter was translating at the same time :)
I was thinking the same, this interpreter is saying more than Melanie, not small grammar stuff, but big content. Happy to hear it actually came from something Melanie herself had said (in another interview)
that federation struggle must be so difficult, like your home Olympics and you can't have your French-American coaches coach you because your OG French coaches are imploding narcissists
I love Melanie. She trained a while ago in the US for 2 years. Good having her here. You can tell the difference with her and her training. US training to me is harder than the actual international competitions. Seems like the US has many Asian competitors. I don’t know if they are just training here or are Asian Americans. Most that I have seen are really good. Still think, no matter who gets better coaches and training from WCC.
They’re Asian Americans. If you look at their technique and form, they are no where near the Chinese. How you could usually tell the difference is: Asian Americans usually have more power in their gymnastics because USA for years have focused on power and difficulty in tumbling not so much on form and technique. The Chinese usually have impeccable form and technique, and they are freaking petite and have smaller body frames because of diet.
J'admire beaucoup Mélanie. C'est bien une Française, elle vit aux Etats-Unis depuis des mois, mange avec Jordan Chiles qui ne parle pas un mot de Français, et elle est incapable de faire 2 phrase en Anglais :)
She speaks English just fine if you listen in the beginning interview. Seems to have a problem when people talk too fast , which is understandable. Translator came in to move the interview along. Most Americans can’t even speak more than one language unless they have an immigrant parent.
How do you explain that German gymnasts or Dutch gymnasts or Russian gymnasts like Angelina Melnikova speak English fluently? Because they have learned English at school.
@@GoldForAnna Correction there, Gelya didn't learn English in school. As far as I know She (and Elena Eremina) learned from watching American TV shows. German and Dutch kids have English instruction in school from the primary school ages so that's no shock, but Melanie is from France where English isn't required until age 11.
I'm sorry, Geyla and Elena Eremina LEARNED English. You don't learn a foreign language just watching TV shows. And in France, when you LEARN English from the age of 11, you speak it much fluently than Mélanie does.
@@GoldForAnna why are people attacking this girl’s English? She speaks just fine. She seemed a bit nervous and has some trouble when people speak fast(which is understandable for a second language) but at least she’s trying. I work in healthcare and there are plenty of Spanish speakers who have been in the US for many years, yet have to have their school age kids translate for them. Her English is lot better than millions of people who immigrate and/or work here but never learn English.
Laurent coming from behind saying "speak in English" was just 😂
The most french thing ever 😂
It's the first time I understand everything in an English interview. Thank you Mélanie! 😅

She was almost brought to tears from the adoration and support. ❤

Alexa is training at WCC for the next 2 weeks
We love you Melanie! You're like one of our own and wish you could stay and train with the U.S. team. Wishing you a victorious year.
One of my favorite gymnast!
I LOVE her new sense of confidence. It shows! She is a BEAUTIFUL gymnast 🥰
What is not to love about her! I followed her as a jr and so happy she decided to continue with the sport and sought out coach who are a great fit for her.
I’m so happy for her she had an incredible meet!
… and incredible meats
She’s so pretty! Her eyes twinkle 🥺 I hope she continues to be successful, I love her gymnastics
I love Melanie! She's a gorgeous athlete, strength and beauty combined. And she's an absolute delight in her interviews 😁
Her face when asked about American food. 😂 I'm with you!
It’s so funny hearing her say what she likes about Texas food is the barbecue. As a Texan, they take their meat very seriously here lol 😂😂😂 Glad to know she’s enjoying the experience!
Is she in Houston?
She’s in suburbs in Spring, TX
I'm a Texan too and we really do lmao. I don't think I've ever been to a bad barbecue place here and I'd eat it all the time if it wasn't bad for you 🥲
@2:15 “And you know, train with Cecile and Laurent as well” Thank you for the interviews! I’m sure you’re exhausted so it’s extra appreciated :)
She is breathtaking
Melanie is too marvelous!!
I love my sister, God bless you
So cute (Fans)!!!!😂❤ She's Awesome!!!!
Her execution on bars especially is epic! ❤❤❤
Such a classy young lady. She would have gotten the silver AA and gold in bars if her scores counted toward the competition.
Awesome!
My favorite!!! God she’s so classy
She's so cute, and I say that with much respect ❤ A very talented gymnast, and I'm a huge fan🎉❤
The translator elaborates a lot on some of these answers 😂.
Throat is what I also said, she reads her mind and adds tons of thru gs apparently lol 😅
you ARE Livie
Love her!
she's sooo cute and did so well!

Really nice interview. Congrats.
Melanie, great speaking English.
Oh I just love her 😍😍😍
Tellement contente de voir une compatriote ,vive la Martinique ,vive les Antilles 🥰🥰
Melanie is so pretty
loved when the coach told her to speak english!!
She is so sweet!
This interpreter for sure is able to read her mind, lol, she interprets things in English that Melanie didn’t even say 😅

I want to learn french now! She’s peculiar in many ways.
Update.. I have been using duo lingo and it is really fun to learn.
@@pipes6414 can you speak it now?
queenie princess 👸🏼
forever young
Her name is very brazilian, hence why I was confused first time I heard about this incredible lady
She’s adorable.
Unless the video has been cut, that translator is adding a lot of superfluous words to the translation.
She would’ve finished in the top 2 or 3 AA correct?
Yep, top 2
the [unclear] in 2:14 was just "Cecile et Laurent"
Is that livie translating?
She's so cute!

what do you mean?
Such an astoundingly beautiful woman! Move over Halle Berry, I have a new fave!! MDJDS!
Lovely person!
Belle, gracieuse, très bonne élocution... Intelligente persévérance....perseverance...je lui souhaite le Meilleur😊
