I moved here to Cebu City from Thailand. I'm going back as soon as my lease is done. For an allegedly English speaking country...comprehension seems to be utterly lacking.

Jealousy and spite is a global phenomena. I think the best way to deal with is to ignore it even though it may be hard to do it. You wont change their minds and will just lower yourself to their level.

You do understand that in every town in the Philippines. It is considered someone's territory. And how they make their money. Ans so..... when a female "freelancer" enters another female's domain. The local female is going to make it clear that she is trespassing.
So... if you go to one of the local bars, talk to the waitresses and bartender and explain that you will take care of them. This shows respect, understanding and at the same yime they will make money. But don't be surprised if something happens to your drinks. Especially the female's drink. They still may sent a don't come back message to her.

Yes, jealousy is a mix of envy, fear of missing out and anger that others might seem better. Best to ignore it if you can.
Great to see you both looking so happy together!

As I get older and hopefully wiser I find that being conciliatory works better than punching someone in the nose. Well... usually. "Is everything alright?" "Are you ok?" Disarms people and puts it back on them. Usually the offender will be contrite. If they want to fight, just walk away.

I think you Mia, were correct. At the subconscious emotional level, at least, many assumptions are made about strangers, on the basis of their appearance. Our brain's limbic system is not rationally oriented. ........... Love your channel.

It's not jealousy, it's the way women compete. Men fight with the body; women fight with the mind. So much of what we see today is the human animal, not a human being. Animals live in the moment, animals satisfy immediate desires, animals 'do whatever they want'. Self-control, rules, discipline and respect make us people.

I like the chemistry of this couple. I know this can work like a dream, when a smart, professional guy is paired up with a Filipina like this. She’s remarkable also and the feminine opposite. They complement each other.
I know a few couples like this and they only get better with time. I could see that potential, so I was happy to see them married and carrying on like champs.

Hi Mia /Paul,,, Paul is exactly right in his analogy,,, over her in the UK we call it bitchiness,,, something that women world wide are first class at doing/being. Be a better person either give them a nice compliment or ignore it and walk away the better person. (which you are).People like that arnt worth wasting your breath on.She probably wouldnt of said anything if she was on her own,,, she just wanted to feel bitchy in front of her mate. Best wishes

It’s so important to ignore others and their opinions even if they gossip about you or make comments about you. Your power is to observe and give a smile and carry on unaffected with the power of your mind and emotional control. That’s your leverage and personality edge over others and very powerful to learn and apply as needed. Just my opinion. Best wishes for you both and your future.❤😊

Expats, pay very close attention to this video. Because this is how vindictive a lot of Philippino women can be.
Also, these towns are controlled by certain groups. And if a female outsider or freelancer enters another local woman's territory. They are going to make it clear to that trespasser that this is someone else's territory. The "dating game" in the Philippines is extremely serious.

Markers of social class are a big deal in much of the world. It’s something I realize more and more as the years pass. In the USA/Canada/Australia/UK at present they’re often linked to which political ideas one mentions and one’s word choice. I really hate how constraining it can be. People can almost dismiss the value of people who do not obviously have a university degree.

Well this is a complete shock to me... I thought all Phillippino spoke english. I had no idea that only a very small number of Filipino girls speak English to a fluent standard and it's limited to those educated in private schools - and from families with money.
My belief was even the poorest girls spoke great english.
Now I have a better understanding that searching for the right girl will be harder. ( Criteria... Slim.. Pretty.. Humble.. Speaks English.. Cheerful )
Looks like Paul won the lottery with Mia !

Even in bars not that l go there but I know from my younger days the most beautiful come from Visayas. Good to see husband Paul back and best wishes for the future and God Bless, 🙏

    • @filipinalifewithmia5208
      @filipinalifewithmia5208  Рік тому

No. You don't have to be rich to learn English well. It's just that, for the most part, we see it in our society that kids that are born into rich or middle-class families speak English well because of their upbringing. Maybe in their household, the parents speak English all the time, but in the household, especially the poor household, we tend to speak Cebuano more than English.
