My view is Filipinas (good women in general) want a "man with a solid plan." A man who knows where he's going, why he's going there and how to get there...and most important, she knows no one can knock him off his path. IMO, a good Filipina wants a man to take the lead, but also knows it won't be a tyrant/slave relationship, but rather, a Captain/1st Officer relationship. While he has the final authority, he may very well defer to her opinion if it makes sense to him. This is something many, if not most Western women don't seem to, or want to understand. I can't count how many times I've witnessed Western women relentlessly westling for Captaincy in the relationship...if he stands his ground, she steps up her resistance, if he backs down and let's her take the lead, she resents him for being weak. Either way, the relationship is doomed. Sad.

I am a 71 year old retired business owner, very secure financially, fit, don't drink or smoke. At my age it may be to late. At the same time you are going to get some real stinkers, very little money, drunk and just looking for a inexpensive place to live and get drunk. Maybe they will tell you they have been divorced three times here in the U.S., I know a man who did this but ended up dying from not taking care of himself. The good thing is he had built his wife a house. You ladies need to hold the line with some of these guys and keep looking.

Well, when it comes to decision-making, of course your woman has a say in it, but in the end, it'll be your choice. Your woman might suggest something that you think is a good idea. In the end, it'll be your choice whether to act on it or not. I agree about that. If you're new to the place, then your woman can suggest different restaurants, but it's still up to you which restaurant you want to try. Maybe in the beginning you'll let her decide, and the next date will be your decision, and so on.
