    You made that look and sound so easy! Great stuff my brother! I’m thinking of doing the same for next spring and doing my homework! Thanks for this!

    Your videos are great and enjoy watch them. It’s cool how you explain what you’re doing. Ride safe and keep the videos coming.

    i build my m8 motors never heard of not using a base gasket interesting good video
    just installed total seal gas ported rings on this build excellent ring seal

      Yea. I don't usually do that. But with the machining tolerances between the Harley cases and the s&S cylinders, it is easy to do.

    The m8 rings are so delicate, anyways this was such a great episode!

    No bottom gasket option: install a #50 cotton 🧵+the sealer
    to make a "O" ring i. e.
    Won't effect the C/R

    Another great one man! Really liking your channel, one of my new favorites. About compression.. About to either go stage 2 with high lift cam or the Fuel Moto 132" Outlaw kit with either 11.75:1, 11.25:1, or 10.8:1 compression on my Road Glide ST. What´s the right way to go about the choice of compression here? Would love your input on this!

    • @empcycleworks
      @empcycleworks  Рік тому +1

      It really depends on the cam choice. Usually a cam with a later intake closing time can handle more static compression

      @JakobKaizen Рік тому +1

      @@empcycleworks Yeah, so if we flip the question. In what case would you recommend 11.75:1 opposed to 10.8:1? Does one of them speak for more power or it has nothing to do with that?

    Enjoy your content & builds, good narration…I’d like to see more detail and narration on installation of heads and pushrods…which seems really confusing to dummys like me. I also don’t quite get the re-torquing of all the cylinder bolts.

      I am working on what works best in my videos. I appreciate the insight. I followed the torque instructions that came with the cometic gaskets for this build. I don't know the exact reason why they use this procedure. All I know is they sealed!
      Thanks for the comment

    I'm kind of jealous about how much performance can be gotten out of the M8's 😐

    • @empcycleworks
      @empcycleworks  2 роки тому +1

      It is crazy how much more power you can easily get out of an m8 compared to a twin cam

    What octane gas do you recommend for 11:5 :1 compression 128 with 3+ heads

    • @empcycleworks
      @empcycleworks  10 місяців тому +1

      Depends on a few factors. Static compression does not tell the whole story. Depending on the cam and the tune, I would run 93. Or the highest octane available where you live

    Harley Davidson at this point is basically depleting old engine parts and tooling. The Milwaukee 8 motor is old school 1940’s/1950’s technology HD has been holding on to. Overly labor intensive maintenance like 3 hole oil changes, huge primary chain, bottom end cams, pushrods and a hot air cooled motor is gotta go. Performance is the new way which is what other manufacturers have done ahead of HD. The Revolution Max format will move across the line sooner than later if HD is to be competitive down the road.

    Hey did you ever get this bike on the dyno??? ###

    • @empcycleworks
      @empcycleworks  Рік тому +1

      Yes it didnt make the power we were after with the Khrome Werks Exhaust. I think 155 and 146. Something like that. We just put a d and D exhaust on it. the tuner is almost done but it was at 166 hp and 159 tq last I heard today. We are also putting a D and D on the 143 that I bilt. Should wake that thing up.

    And the numbers are what? I've got a 128 without that 12:1 and getting 141 HP and 151T. You all should be pushing 160.

    • @empcycleworks
      @empcycleworks  2 роки тому +3

      I don't have final numbers yet. We are still breaking it in. Plus, we are changing the air cleaner and exhaust. It made 150/145 on some early pulls. It is limited by the air cleaner. Unfortunately, everything is on hold right now as this hurricane moves through. I will post final numbers when we are back to normal. Thanks for the comment.
