This is very fitting as Steve was hooked on Heroin for a number of years, you can tell he he is thinking back to those dark times through the lyrics of this song.. this was from the heart

I've been in love with Steve since i was a kid. My brother introduced me to the sex pistols and my heart just melted when i Saw Steve Jones. I love his version of this song Better than the original
Steve can sing. He was singing before he was a guitarist. He said originally the guitar was just a prop so he’d have something to do with his hands. Then he took a bunch of speed and played with records until he learned to play basic stuff. So drugs aren’t all bad kids.
It really is, Steve does a great job and the slide guitar adds a sense of melancholy. I've always been a fan of Steve's and this really shows what he's capable of and makes all those "the Pistols couldn't play" idiots look like the fools they are.
Steve can do anything! From awesome "punk n' roll" with the Pistols ,Professionals and Neurotic Outsiders to great hard rock (his solo material). Now he shows that he can do slower stuff superbly as well! Such a pity that such a great musician has released just a few albums...
Lou's second most well known song. And Lou, I read, was stricken with incredible jelousity and that's where this song stems from, but damn,- is it so good.
Well done Steve, Vanessa, and Kirk, beatuiful combination of cello, bottleneck, and rythem guitar, the intro is awesome Kirk, and the cello finale? that just hits the spot! When I'm "gonna reap just what I sowed" so to speak this is on my play list, x
Steve you are and always will be the best rock 'n' roll rhythm guitarist who ever lived. You were the heart of the Pistols and you have matured into something even finer here. And you still look cool AF This Scouser here has always loved you, even tho you're a cockney hehe
this was incredible. Been such a Steve Jones fan since the Professionals and his solo work and of course the Neurotic Outsiders. My wish was that this would be a single somewhere. I mean i did convert it to mp3 format so i can listen to it whenever but still it would b nice.

@holloween jack I’m pretty sure money was the motivating factor. He wasn’t a social worker, he was an entrepreneur trying concept after concept before coming up with Sex, the shop. The band was just another money making idea
Always love his singing. From the late Pistols stuff, trough Professionals and his solo albums.
My Wife's and myself's Wedding Song. Thank You Steve Jones xxx
who would ever have thought Sex Pistol Steve would one day play unplugged covers of Lou Reed? I have to admit I'm impressed. Good job Jonesy

Best guitarist ever.
Superb son. Not too shabby from an 'erbert off the Bush
Well ......I have to say I wasn't expecting this beauty!
I didn't know Steve could sing. Iove this cover.
He's been singing since the Sex Pistols days :)

The song isn't about heroin. Lou Reed wrote it for his first wife Bettye Kronstadt.

Never thought of Steve Jones as being much of a singer, but he does a surprisingly good job with this.

Beautiful. Lovely version. God Bless Steve and his friends.
apart from the original this is the best version of this I've ever heard classic song & Steve Joes a Real Legend.
Honestly I think I prefer it to the original. They're both great though.
Jones not Joes.
It's so good to go back to the simple...GREAT...little...things!
