i was amazed when i heard this song, i just thought it was a shame i wasn't able to find it on youtube so i'm just sharing.
Whoa...this song bowled me over like a wave...in a sea of angelic harmonies and bittersweet memories...
MMJ were a bar band for years here in Louisville, KY -- playing covers was a way of life.
I have spend like 4 years of my life looking for this song, just knowing the melody, suddenly one day (today) i just play this video

it's from the Top Gun soundtrack. The movie is about fighter pilots, thus the plane in the beginning. In the movie there is an accident, and the clip at the end is the actual audio from the accident scene

this version of the song is so amazing, I mean, it totally gives a new sense to the song, in the begining you can hear an airplane preparing to fly and in the end you can hear an accident, like that airplane falling off, and those last sad chords....beautiful, it´s just like someone in the accident is dying, and their last words would be dedicated to death: "Take my breath away"

Sorry, but you are mistaken and spreading bad info. My Morning Jacket were never a "bar band" playing mostly covers. They were always a "show band", playing one set of originals with an occasional cover no matter what the venue was. I saw them play over 20 shows in Louisville from 2000 to 2003 and they did not play a single cover song in most of them. Always, the focus was on original material.

@foryourlove89 i think it was berlin from the soundtrack of top gun, tho i dislike pretty much every romantic comedy from the 80s for they had lame production & the most absurd arguments I think the song was as good as awesome as its cover.
