can you help me login to the app please ??
Was hoping you'd do a review on this. Definitely looks like a game changer!
It really makes the bike come alive when you do your own tune.
Bro this was soooo helpful I love how you explain things very helpful thank you so much my guy 👏🏾👊🏽 please keep doing your videos 📹
I appreciate that bro! More to come!
I installed the GLE dashboard the other day and it is working well. Really love the app and nobody has anything better currently in my opinion. Eggrider now removed from bike. Thanks GLE.
Agreed! I wish all my bikes were compatible with this app. There was a lot of thought put into the user experience. Most other ebike apps feel perfunctory at worse or just glorified excel sheets at best.
I need it!! Love the video, bro!
We can test it out in a few weeks when it warms up!
Finally I found something that can limit the speed on my Surron. I really needed this because in australia we can only have our e bikes go a max of 25km/h and now I can limit it to that so it will be legal. Thanks man.
Awesome! Happy to help!
You spent nearly 1k to go slower? That’s the one of the lamest things I ever heard
I’ve seen people riding freely in Australia with powerful 72v setups
And you literally live in one of the most open countries in the world
You can off-road all day and explore a ton of stuff but instead you rather ride below the speed limit like some 10 year old kid?
@@joem8601 true. I ended up opting for an egg rider. Just quietly I don’t even limit it for the roads some of the time.
@@GoatedGoose1 That’s more like it
Great video great battery bike.
Thanks 👍
Man, those full size tires look so good vs. them other small ones.
I hear ya!
I have this installed on my 2021 Sur-Ron X Black. I have to tell you this thing is smooth! I love the ability to set speed and torque settings at will (it literally takes seconds). I had a couple of questions during install and GLE was very responsive via email. I totally recommend this GLE Dashboard / BAC4000 controller kit. I also now have the GLE BAC4000 heatsink which I found is much more than a piece of aluminum to keep things cool. It is engineered to streamline the BAC4000 mounting and makes it very tight and secure. I was hesitant about their price for the heatsink, but after installing it, I wish I bought it at the same time as the controller because it makes the controller installation much easier as well.
It sure would be nice to understand what all those settings do. It seems that you guys are comfortable with them. You did that sicko mode with just two settings. Can you point me in a direction to learn what they all do?
That's great to hear! I agree with everything you mentioned. I don't know every single setting, especially the miscellaneous ones but the main ones to know are your phase amps and watts. If you push those numbers too far it can damage the motor permanently. For the sicko mode settings, I consulted with GLE and they confirmed those would bump up the top speed and torque. But it's definitely at your own risk attempting those settings. Personally 12kw with 10% field weakening is fine for me. "Field Weakening" is what some believe Tesla does to boost the top speed of their motors beyond what's possible from their battery voltage. By injecting a field weakening current that's perpendicular to the torque current, it causes a 15-20% speed boost. And since it isn't an on or off feature, you can dial it up in small increments of amps until your desired amount of speed boost. But again too much, you risk damaging the motor.
It would be nice if there was a help screen or pdf with an explanation of all the parameters; default setting, range, etc.
Love the Scenery bruh. You know what kind of tree that was??? A Telemetry 😅
Lol I saw what ya did there! 😆
Waiting for mine to come in :)
Awesome bro! Can't wait to see what settings you come up with!
Hey thanks for making this detailed video. I just picked up a used Sting R with a GLE BAC 8000 and I'm learning how to tune it. GLE wants to charge me to use GLE Dashboard, to get the user manual and so on. I think that's reasonable. The only thing I'm not stoked about is how the App MUST have an Internet connection to function. So if I can't get Internet, I can't tune my bike. That's pretty limiting IMO. I guess I will just make sure it always starts up in my preferred mode ... but this limitation is a real bummer for me.
Nice dude, the ASI stuff is top notch. I was so happy to watch most of this video until you started talking about turning down the power and being to much :P
Bike is wicked and this one I cannot wait to see unfold.
Lol I hear ya. I'll be the first to admit I've been pretty risk averse these days. Just had a few losses last year where I don't feel super comfortable with top speed power runs. Also a bit icy out here at the moment. Really love how the app integrates with the ASI. I think it'll get even better once it's out in the wild.
@@RunPlayBack I want to get my hands on the Bac for my S73. I am using the EM200 now at 180 battery amps. How ever controller software is very very crap. I basically want the phaserunner software with 200 amp controller. So hard to get someone to sell a bac4000 for the QS205. I am almost finished building my Ebike dyno to start having some fun testing stuff.
@@BuildItTuneItEV yeah I wish Grin Tech would make a high performance phaserunner but I know that's not really their thing. Are there bac4000/hub motor builds out there? I was asking the Onyx group and no one has seen anyone try that yet. I'm assuming you need to be a vendor to get the license from ASI.
@@RunPlayBack The BAC can run the hub motor. How ever a vendor for BAC would need to sell it. I think with the software you have it could be tuned to a hub motor now. I would have to try software. It's my understanding, and I VERY well could be wrong is that BAC made the phaserunner for grin. So the bac would be the high power phase runner! I would get the suron and just be done, how ever I would be shot if I rode it on our local beach lol. They already have stopped me on the S73.
Anyway's appreciate the content and latest and greatest tech, cant be cheap staying on top of it all.
@@BuildItTuneItEV That's right! I totally forgot the phaserunner was based on the BAC 800. I guess it would only make sense if there was a demand for a specific bike tune/custom harness for a vendor to get involved otherwise the margins wouldn't make much sense. Yeah the Surron is pretty low key where I live but will definitely attract unwanted attention in other cities. Xion actually sells the ASI for the Surron and are working on other harnesses/tunes apparently: xion.bike/collections/controllers
I really like the programmability the GL offers. It has one issue; the dashboard only works with a network. If your in the sticks, and no cell service, you cannot connect to phone. You have to turn off your phone Bluetooth for the bike to work properly. I had my controller set at non ludicrous mode and could not change without cell service. Once I figured that out I made sure bike started in ludicrous mode when riding in no service areas. Other than that great program and product. Wonderful customer service.
Yup that's fair but I can see why they did it. I imagine that its like 2-factor authentication - just a way to authenticate that its actually you programming your bike and not some rando who can change your parameters.
I found that if you start the app and let it authenticate, and keep the app on as you get to your riding area (out of network), then it will just continue to work and allow changes and dashboard views until you quit the app. Nice little hack.
When I ride, I like to see the dashboard for battery. Temp. Speed. Etc. plus the ability to try different setting while riding is really important to getting the most from this kit.
i never seen Celsius being used on TV in the US thats amazing it been that long since ive watched the news
Does your battery % on battery itself match battery% on gle app?? I have chi60v and none of the battery % matches between, battery display, gle app and bms app.
I just got my GLE BAC4000 and I’m multiple places on the instruction sheet and in my phone number registration email it’s says in bold capital letters “DO NOT run a motor tune as the kit is already tuned. Improperly running a motor tune can potentially cause loss of calibration”. Was your instructions different because I noticed you did do the 2 motor tune sections??
Hi bro, kind of little late the game, but can you please make a video about making your magura mt7e as a regen, and the higo splitter for the regen brakes that you talked about. appreciate it. thanks
So I looked into that and unfortunately I was wrong. The regen port requires a proper throttle signal and the MT7e is more like an on/off switch. I tried and it didn't work. I just use the thumb throttle for regen.
Where I can get anything like this ? Anyways it's from controller make it work?
Does the GLE dashboard speedometer use the phones gps for it's display or is it like the eggrider?
It's like the Egg Rider, you have to change the gearing to match your parts.
What specifically is making all that "whining" noise at speed or during acceleration? The motor or the chain? And video is nicely done... very nice!
Chain
Love your content bro, just subscribed. I use the GLE app. Is there an odometer on it, if so, where is it, on the app, and how do I reset it? Please advise and thx per request.
Hmmm I don't believe there's an odometer on it unfortunately.
@@RunPlayBack So I went on a ride yesterday and right below the speed/mph, there is a mileage count. Everytime I turn on/off bike it resets.
It's inaccurate, unfortunately.
So does this mean you have to have your phone out or mounted in order to change the power settings since the EggRider is now no longer usable? Or can you you continue to use the EggRider and just use the app for tuning?
I believe turning on the Egg Rider will conflict with the settings that you input on the GLE Dashboard, which is why GLE advises to remove the Egg Rider display. There are talks about GLE introducing their own display soon if you don't want to use your phone as a display.
Can I disconnect and remove the Eco/Sport switch when running the GLE dashboard? Also once controller is installed can i use the GLE to set it up?
Yup! So for it to work you need the GLE BAC4000 powerkit installed. During installation, you basically remove the Eco/Sport switch and display since it's no longer needed.
How can I reset my settings to stock? I messed all my settings up. And do you have a tune for racing?
I think if you use my settings it in the video it should bring it back to stock for the GLE Bac4000.
What size wheel are you using? I use stock 19" wheels, which is about 490'ish mm.
I'm running the Luna Supermoto 17's
What displays are out there for the Sur Ron? I finally got my hands on one and after having big display on my old bike, it's very jarring how small it is. Is the egg rider my only option with the stock controller to use my phone as a dash? Or are there bigger plug and play options?
For the GLE, yeah your phone is the only option. I think there were talks to create their own display but I'm not sure that's still a thing. Some people just buy a cheap android phone and use it as their dash.
Hi I’ve got a asi Bac 4000 & 60v 63ah battery will this dashboard work with my surron? I can’t access bacdoor so I’m looking into this? Cheers
I think you need this harness for any BAC's not from GLE to make it work www.glengineering.co/products/gle-dashboard-integration-kit-pre-order
What’s the max watts I can set it to with the 60v bypass
According to Emotobros, they recommend max at 7000watts after the bypass.
Can you please help me I don’t know how to activate my gle bac4000
Did you figure it out? My app is not working!
does anyone else get a black screen whenever you try to change anything?
So why i need to enter my phone number? And seems like i cant use european number too.. One thing does catch my eye in video. Why dont you have option when have Regen as on this bike so instead you have to press on display R, why cant just use the Regen brake/throttle to reverse
Is your ASI from GLE? If you did your number should be in the registry. There's probably a way to include a reverse feature that you described in the app. I'm just not sure there's a big demand for it. You'd have to ask GLE.
The resistance is similar to a four stroke db two stroke setting is no regen lol
Ok cool, yeah I totally forgot what I said this was so long ago.
Do you have to use your phone as a display?
Yup..but you don't need to always have it on unless your changing settings or really need the speedometer.
Do you have to have your phone attached to the handlebars
No, that's just for realtime stats.
so the egg rider should be removed? or can i set up the bike with the app and still use the egg rider as speedo
According to GLE, the EggRider should be removed because it can conflict with the settings. I don't think you can use it as a speedo.
@@RunPlayBack kinda disappointed, i don't want my phone mounted to my bike
@@Crohniac I hear ya...for me the EggRider is way too small as a speedometer. Another option is using a cheap $30 android to run the app instead of your main phone.
Exactly. I have an old iPhone 8 on my bike and keep my primary phone in my pocket.
If you get a cheap phone you can use GPS or GLI app for your speedometer.
16:51 (Ignore this its for me to remember)
My tune was 0 ls and 5rs and my wheel is not spinning please help
Have you reached out to GLE?
@@RunPlayBack yes I’m waiting for a reply
I can see the motor turning the chain just a tiny bit , but not a full rotation just a quarter turn
@@melwenfernando9436 try clearing any faults and restart the bike/app.
Not a fan of using my phone as the dashboard lol what if my phone battery is low what if I don’t have a cord with me to plug in my bike plus I like to wheelie so I think imma go with emoto bros bac
I hear ya, whatever works best for you! 👍
If your phone dies the controller should stay in the last mode you were riding in. The controller doesn’t work without network even though it’s Bluetooth to phone. Emote bros have a decent setup but this is a better software setup IMHO.
@@JackalSSD for sure I hear ya I still haven’t freakin decided the more I started comparing the more I got stuck now there is ko motors with the controller and motor I’m so lost lmao.
Can you help me sign in my email or number won’t work but I’m not sure how it works
If you bought the GLE kit, it should work. If not just contact them.
??????? ?
Good App - but GLE is an absolutely horrible and vengeful company. Horrible support, and if you dare to question anything, they will remotely disable your controller and bike, then refuse to refund your $$$. Run away !! Their App isn't worth dealing with them.
I can't even get the app to open. It wants a phone number or email but when I enter a number it says it couldn't authorize contact customer support what am I doing wrong 🤔
Are you on iOS or Android? Your contact info should be in their database. Definitely reach out to them to fix.
