Excellent video and I LOVE the individuals talking about their ride. Coincidently, this was with four of my favorite bikes. The ride looked like fun, but I would have been left behind if I was there. My bike only does about 30 with the current settings, lol.
Hey Paul! We keep it mainly at 30 around here with all the stop and go traffic and the Ariel Rider maxes out at that speed with pedal assist. We leave no ebike behind!
Bye next week i should be done with my seat mod. Very simple JFG seat cover , motorcycle gel seat cushion, and a staple gun should take maybe a hour add padding plus a way better look!
I disconnected the pedals on my RCR so they both hung down like footpegs. I did not like the pedals stock! I sold the RCR. The suspension was for someone a lot heavier than me and it didn’t seem to be as professionally built as my SurRon. When I went to the garage I would always grab the SurRon. Also didn’t care for the alarm going off @ 0600. In retrospect I wish I had kept the RCR though.
These days I use the Surron when I'm primarily riding on the street. I use the new CTY2 when I'm doing a combo of street and bike lanes. The CTY2 is a bit more bike-like than the RCR.
I'm stuck on finding new rotors for these rims. I just got some over sized 250mm rotors and the bolt pattern is a lot smaller than the dirt set. Sucks cause my rear rotor is warped a little I need new rotors but not sure what to buy any help would be amazing thank you...
Is there anyway to mod a Sur Ron to look more like a regular Ebike and less like a dirt bike other than the pedal kit?,, like maybe a more moped styled seat mod? I just want to make sure I look less unassuming to cops in California otherwise I’m not sure I could make the purchase even though I know the laws.
I'd say the Kaniwaba pedal kit, Luna supermoto kit and a custom moped style seat from a place like Saul's Upholstery would make it look more like an ebike.

How much shorter does the super moto kit make the bike? I'm 5'11 and 180. I've been doing a lot of research and can't find a solid answer on if my height and weight would be a good fit for the sur ron. I'm deciding on the sur ron or a super73 and it's really hard haha. Would I ride comfortably on the sur ron being 5'11 tall?
You should be fine. I have a few friends try the supermoto at about the same height/weight and they had no issues. If anything, you can also add seat brackets to make it taller.

I've installed pedals and limit it to 30mph on public roads but technically, to register it as a moped you need to mod it with functioning signals, mirror, brake light. www.michigan.gov/documents/sos/SOS-430_Moped_Certification_290967_7.pdf

Not every accessory. But yeah the pedals were just to have it pass as an ebike. But where I live no one really cares so I switched back to pegs.

The sur rons belt drive kit makes the bike so quiet but the kuberg gets like 14kw out of box 📦 for same price
I've wanted to try that bike! I do like the incredible amount of aftermarket support for the Surron though.

Nope, you'll need to convert to smaller wheels like the 17" supermotos of get the seat lowering brackets from SurronShop.
I know your rcr is far from stock but still how do you like the sur-ron vs your onxy?
Only reason i didn't get a onxy was the shipping..

Fender came stock with the Sur-Ron X from Lunacycle. Seems like a generic fender that can be found on Amazon. Not sure the exact name though.

I am in Mi also, do you have to get it registered as a moped/vehicle or can you just ride it as a bicycle? Have not had any luck finding info online

Does the super moto kit sprocket change the torque or speed?
Yeah the 42t gives you slightly less torque but more top speed. I ended up installing a 48t sprocket and it feels much better.

Yup! I actually just changed the sprocket from 42t back to 48t yesterday so it's definitely getting easier and faster for me to swap wheels.

There's apparently more tire choices on 17" rims and also more maneuverability because of the lowered center of gravity.
