I haven’t even watched this yet and it’s one of the most exciting things I’ve ever seen! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! It’s one of my most painful and miserable issues and every doctor either says I’m crazy or just live with it!
When i first go this, i thought i was having a heart attack. I was really fortunate that i was seeing my physio that same week. She helped me with this issue. I still get losds of pain but dont feel quite so anxious now i know im not having a heart attack. Thank you for this Jeannie...im going to add this to my exercises. Its the worst of all the pain. Xxx
Loved your explanation about the rib "cage"... I definitely don't breath in as fully as I should. Almost fainted a couple times but am getting better as I learn and understand more how our body works especially for those of us with hypermobility it can be slippy 😆
I have hypermobility syndrome and this has been one of my most painful conditions! I have discovered a few things that have been helpful for me, I hope they help someone else! I have had my first ribs come in and out and you feel this on the top part of your shoulder. And another popular spot is in the back at T3 and T4. First of all for me it is most related to forward head posture. If I sleep with a forward head posture, I am much more likely to have my ribs go out and for some reason it happens just as I wake up. I am stronger now but it used to happen if I was sewing or cooking. Secondly, a chiropractor told me that the muscles under your armpit get tight and pull them out so I do notice a correlation. I use the foam roller in that location and it definitely helps. There are videos on UA-cam about how to get these rib heads to sit back where they should be, but I am rarely successful without a chiropractor. As I have strengthened my thoracic area the subluxations have become less, thank God! I would love to know if anyone has experienced similar things! Thank you for this wonderful video, I am sure my breathing is contributing and I cannot wait to add this to my routine! ❤️❤️
@@katie1897 The chiro said my vertebrae tip forward which makes the rib head unseat from its position. (It is in the back of my body between my shoulder blades.)
Hi 🥰🥰 I'm messaging you lovely people on here because I wanted to let you know I've set up my UA-cam channel to try raise awareness for EDS and all the other conditions I have too 🥰 we have no specialists in Ireland so trying my best to spread awareness and share a bit of joy and positive vibes 🥰🥰 if you felt like subscribing it would mean the world!!! My ribs subluxations happen in my sleep frequently. If I sleep propped up for congestion I get a knot between my neck and shoulders that is a clear notification that they are misaligned. I had a subluxation yesterday brushing my hair because my back was so tight. 🤦🏼♀️ So much pain and such a sad, pitiful story.
Thank you Jeanie 😊 You have given me hope . In just two weeks I have better balance and breathe deeper . I am very sick with all the commorbitities that come with EDS. You have given me that hope and validation that I needed. I have thorasic outlet. Ribs squeeze me then when they release the nerves shake like crazy.
I've had this problem for 25+ years. This started after bunion surgery when I slept on a loveseat as I couldn't lie in bed due to pain. I think I messed up my ribs at that time. I have been diagnosed with hypermobile joints when I was young but never paid attention to it as I had no problems then. I have since found that I have the hyper mobile form of EDS and, as I've gotten older its affecting me with the rib problem. Its quite debilitating as the pain/spasms are excruciating and daily activities are limited. Nothing has really helped. Thanks for this video.
Amazing!!! Just the concept of breathing with more softness while watching this video, I was able to release areas of my thoracic spine that I've been unconsciously holding tight for the past several years. 🎉🎉🎉🔥🔥🔥
I've been struggling with a very painful rib for a few weeks. It goes away then happens again every few months. Thank you for this video I'll be trying it to help.
This is fantastic Jeannie. I am fused t 4 - 12, I do use and appreciate this great breathing advice. Do you have any advice for what to do when we do sublux ribs?
Do you know what that is i sit down and on my right side of bottom part of rib if i push with my hand inwards towards abdomen i feel a clicking what feels like rib pushing in that when i let go it pushes back out. And back pain on that side if i lye down with leg straight the front of my pelvis starts hurting and the lower back on one side. I wanna do excercises but trying to figure out what it could be first.
My chiropractor messed up my ribs when he put his body weight on me, now every time I bend over I feel like my ribs are poking into me very painful now what
Hi, I’m having problems after my ribs subluxed multiple times. Mine subluxed just left of my sternum and just under my chest. I’m having trouble breathing and my rib also clicks/pops when moving and breathing in. Feels like someone is pushing on my chest. Do you have any suggestions?
@@greekgod9554 I still get the odd pop and click but it is settling down. I've got some exercises I've been told to do by the osteopath. I also think it can be linked to stress but I am not 100% sure. If it gets worse again I'm going to try and get an x-ray

Please do you have any info or tips that could help me.😢
That would depend on how you feel, each individual starting point. But I always say go low and slow. So start with a couple of minutes a day and build up.
Since as long as I can remember, sometimes (especially after I've had a cold), sneezing/coughing hard would make my lowest right-hand rib sort of 'slip' out of and then quickly back into place. It's not painful, just uncomfortable. Is that a subluxation?
Personally, I've experienced both what you described and also rib subluxations. The lowest ribs are known as floating ribs, so they are not attached in the middle to your sternum. My guess is that the feeling of the rib slipping out and then back is possibly the rib rubbing against another rib or cartilage. When I've had a rib subluxation, it was a persistent sharp pain where my rib connects to my spine, which doesn't sound exactly like what you're describing. I hope this helps!
