Excellent group of Camillus fish knives! The WWII Army Air Corp and the Stag models are really something! I have one pre WWII Hammer Brand (Imperial) and it still snaps like a gator and holds a very keen edge. Thanks for sharing you outstanding collection!
I've got a some fairly interesting Fish knives from Imperial that I will need to share as well. The Imperial Pre-WWII Hammer Brand knives are pretty decent knives. Glad you enjoyed the video and thanks for the feedback!
Sad to hear about a lost childhood memory! I’ve got a few but not many. Thanks for dropping by and your continued support of my channel! Much appreciated!
I too carry a 5" toothpick and simply treat it as a "gentleman's" knife. The stiletto look of it does draw a comment now and then however. lol I don't fish but I do like the fish knives in the camp kitchen when my wife brings in the trout. Thanks Tobias.
After carry a large toothpick for over a year, I'm really amazed and just how durable and functional the slender blade can be. My large toothpick can handle any everyday chore a Trapper can handle yet it rides in the pocket better, despite being longer. You are correct, however, in that it is more likely be seen as dangerous weapon instead of useful tool. You are also correct in that it makes for a nice Gentleman's Knife! Nice to know someone else who appreciate the pattern.
Jack Cantrell, love them Toothpicks! Also love fish knives. Just a cool looking knife and a lot more functional than most people think! Thanks for dropping by and thanks for the feedback.
When going by looks, and not functionality, I like the toothpick design best in traditional knives. There are other patterns that are more practical for whittling or general edc tasks, but I just love the look of a toothpick knife. I can see where they would make good fishing knives, even without the little modifications like scalers or hook removers. Another very interesting video. I've learned a lot from your channel!
Timbo437, the toothpick started life as a folding bird & trout so it’s great for processing small game, fish, and bird. I started carrying a five inch toothpick a little over a year ago and haven’t looked back. Does everything a trapper can do. Makes an excellent steak knife. But I will be the first to admit it is lousy at spreading peanut butter and jelly. I’m sure I’m biased because if this pattern isn’t my favorite then it is right behind the scout knife! I guess my point is the knife is a little more functional than people think. I’d love to find out how effective the pommel end of the Knife is as a glass breaker. Thanks for watching. I’m glad you enjoyed the video. Please don’t take my comments wrong. I can absolutely see how a Stockman or a folding hunter like a Buck 110 could be seen as more functional, especially if you just had one knife an EDC. I carry the toothpick along with at least one and often two other knives. I agree 100% that as an all around EDC, if you’re just carrying one knife, thie Toothpick is not the knife I would recommend either.
@@KnifeChatswithTobias I'd LOVE a 5" toothpick. The one I have is 4" closed..Aqua Camel Bone GEC. I do love it, but an extra inch on it would make it even better. It seems all I ever run across lately are either medium or small toothpicks. I haven't been into traditionals until just recently, so the GEC is the only good one I have right now, the rest are just cheap no name stuff, or SAK's, with the excepetion of my old 1980 Buck 110. I do plan on getting more though for sure!
@@timbo4374, I've heard nothing but good things about that GEC. So much so, that I had to break down and buy one, despite only being 4 inches closed. It is hard to find USA made large toothpicks! Queen is no longer around and the newer Bear & Sons are not as good as their short runs ones done in the past. But to be fair, the Rough Rider large toothpicks may be low in price but are really well made. The primary down fall is many people refuse to consider 440A stainless steel! If you hunt around on eBay, you can usually find a Queen five inch toothpick for under $100. Blade steel is normally D-2. I'd rank it right up there with your GEC. Hope that helps.
Rich Klangen, it’s just a sleek, elegant design, even with the scaler. And then they’re by the original Camillus, my favorite US company. Glad you enjoyed the video. Thanks for dropping by. I appreciate your feedback!
Very very important can you please check the knife I just put up on my channel....... I just got it off knives ship free...... It was on the site I bought it and it came right down off the site....... As soon as I ordered it I went back to look at it and it was gone off the site that fast....... I had a much loved one of those as a boy Tobias. Sheffield steel, I forget the maker. I regret the knives I have lost over the years.

Perfect tackle box knives
Nice collection 👌
That goofy fixed blade looks like it has a church key for a handguard. 😂

See my comment. Geared Toward Gear was spot on.
