    I added a Lock Right in my Dana 25 along with upgraded axle shafts from a Dana 27 (Spicer), and 11' brakes (all around). This was 20+ years ago and I now run 33X10.50 15s and the axle is holding up well. I also added a Detroit Locker (19 spline) and Warn full-floater in the rear Dana 44. My early CJ5 (1958) is an enjoyable early Jeep.
    Thanks for your excellent videos! Look forward to your future productions.

    Another excellent install video Seth. No fluff, no BS just a straight forward well documented install.

    Many moons ago my two buddies and I did a little stock car racing, at the time I worked in a metal fabricating shop and I used stainless welding rod to weld the spider gears together, it was on short ovals and it worked great! Your installation is very instructive and now that jeep will be sure footed, especially with that transfer case mod.. Great work Seth. Kaiser Willys couldn't ask for a better video.

    Good video 👍
    I installed one of these Lock Rights into the rear Diff in my Suzuki Sidekick a few years back, one of the best improvements I have made to my Suzuki!
    Thanks for posting 🙂

    I just had to tear one of those apart in my sons 71 Monte 10 bolt rear, I thought it would drive miserable, it’s really not bad, just a little clicking around corners

      Yeah they work great! You get used to how they drive. They are predictable at least. 👍

    Great, now I just have to track down a decent flattie.

    You make it look so effortless! Thank you, this gives me confidence to one day tackle this. Do you have part numbers for the bolts/hardened washers you used? Thanks!

      Thanks! It’s not a bad job, I’m sure you’ll be just fine. Here’s a link to new bolts. You can re use them if they aren’t damaged. I just used grade 8 5-16 washers from the hardware store.

    Hey buddy how are ya? Wow great video. Looks like ya used a Chevy disc break set up. You make it all look so easy. This will be the tutorial video when I put the lockers in. I’m gonna change the carrier and gears thinking to going to 4.27, 3.73 is good for stock tires but with a lil bit bigger need more gears! Have a merry Christmas. God bless you and the fam.

      Thanks! Merry Christmas to you too! 😃 I used all jeep parts for my disc conversion. Cj5 up front and cj7 in. The rear.

    I would like to install them on my 1953 cj3b but I currently installed front and rear differentials from the 1971 cj5, the one in the back is different, it is D44 but I don't know if internally it is the same as the original ones from 53 and I don't know what to ask for when buying the locker

      If you call Kaiser Willys they will help you out. There are 3 different options for Dana 44. 10, 16 and 30 spline. If your Dana 44 is out of a 71 cj5 it is most likely a 30 spline witch is the most desirable. But they will help you get to the Bottom of it. Also. Tell them you watched Seth’s videos at redeye garage. Give them code Redeyegarage10 and you’ll get a 10% discount! 🙏 have fun and good luck!

    Great video! One question: is it necessary to remove the ring gear?

    • @redeyecafegarage7484
      @redeyecafegarage7484  Рік тому +1

      Thanks! Yessir. Unfortunately the ring gear has to come off. It’s the only vehicle I’ve encountered that with. The pin won’t come out unless the ring gear is off. 🤷‍♂️

      @@redeyecafegarage7484 I thought that might be the reason for it, but couldn’t quite tell if it was just to make a little more room to get the main locker parts in there

    I started this on my dana25 and I for the life of me could not get the courier out. I think I am going to have to make a case spreader.

    What are the two chain links that are held in place by your two inside axle u bolts on the front of the axle? What are those for?

  • @wisconsinbush2940
    @wisconsinbush2940 Рік тому

    How many spline axles? Where did you buy this locker?

    • @redeyecafegarage7484
      @redeyecafegarage7484  Рік тому

      Part numbers, products links and discount code are in the description. This particular locker is for the stock 10 spline Axle. All Dana 25 and 27’ are 10 spline.

    50 foot pounds? The manual says 65-70 foot pounds on the bearing cap bolts

    • @redeyecafegarage7484
      @redeyecafegarage7484  Рік тому

      All the toque specs are on the Cj2Apage. 60-70 ft-lbs is for Dana 30’s.

      The correct info on those specs is widely available on line. This one covers the differences between the 25/27 and 30. Make sure you
      Get the proper specs for the correct year and model. www.earlycj5.com/xf_cj5/index.php?threads/10585/
