Wildlife and Landscape Photography - Bow Fiddle Rock

- In this video, I'm in Morayshire, Scotland photographing landscapes and wildlife. Including Bow Fiddle Rock!
Last week I headed up to the Moray coastline for 4 days. My intention was to go out and about with my good friend Gary Beaumont. Luckily, Gary who assists me on my workshops has just moved to the area.
On the first day of our trip, we headed out to photograph Bow Fiddle Rock. That special location is a couple of hours along the coastline so we had all day to investigate that wonderful part of Scotland.
The first location was a place called Findhorn. The place was stunning. Whilst it was a real treasure for us Landscape Photographers we couldn't help but be drawn into taking wildlife pictures of a colony of seals that were basking in the sun.
We visited loads of great locations and captured some great images on the day, way too many for a single video! I did however complete the video with our discovery of Bow Fiddle Rock.

You are so right, it's very easy to spend an entire day there. No matter how many times you visit you just don't know what the day will bring. Autumn and Winter times are great there, especially first thing in the morning about an hour or so before sunrise right the way though, even better after a stormy night with some clouds still in the sky.
I'd love to photograph all those locations during those times and conditions :) Cheers 👍👍
@@GaryGough Were lucky to have a Motorhome and be able to overnight in the area. Had some very wild nights there, some complete washout days but lots of wonderful mornings. Sometimes there’s deer swimming there, usually from the cave you filmed from.
Superb shots Gary, hope you enjoyed your time up in the Moray Coast, Bow fiddle rock is only 1 hr from my home and is a great location to catch the Northern Lights as well!!👍🏻📸

Fantastic video and amazing shots . To top of the dolphins. My favourite photos are of the dolphin and sealing in the sea with just his head. Again. Fantastic video really enjoyed it

Once again stunning work. Was over there few weeks back had same idea as you but rain was terrible so opted for a coffee in warm cafe in Elgin ha ha.

I was in Portknockie 2 weeks ago with my camper to try get something that resembles a half decent shot...turns out the tide was down and the light wasn't the best ( last minute thing so no pre planning) I turned around 180° and climbed up the other cliff to watch the emerging sunset and snapped away happy. Lovely location and I'll definitely be back!

Here in Brixham we have a whole squadron of seals living in the port. They get fed by the fishermen. As to getting down on the floor to photograph your pet. If I did that with our new rescued little teacup Yorkie, he would stick his nose on the end of the lens it would be a soft focus image. Stunning images as per normal.

I like watching other people do landscape photography I don't have the eye for it I mostly do wildlife and insect photography but really nice photos :)
