- The Israel Defense Force has told tens of thousands more Palestinians to leave Rafah, as it intensifies military operations in southern Gaza.
Flyers dropped from the air and posts on social media told residents in the city's eastern districts to go to al-Mawasi - a narrow coastal area which Israel calls an "expanded humanitarian zone".
Israel's plans to extend its ground offensive to the southern tip of the Gaza Strip - where hundreds of thousands of Palestinians have sought refuge from fighting elsewhere in the territory, has sparked international concern.

Three facts:
1) A lot of Palestinians choose to stay as Palestinians because the UN did in fact reserve a part of the land as belonging to them, but has been slowly claimed by Israel since 1948.
2. Palestinians choose to stay as Palestinians because oppressed people historically don't give up their cultural identity. This happened in former British colonies, this happened in former European colonies, happened in former Imperial Japan colonies, happened in former French and Soviet and German and Dutch and American colonies. Even immigrants do still hold on to their cultural identity (you can see this not just in non-white people in white majority countries but also in Westerners in non-Western countries forming an "expat" culture).
3) This still does not mean that Israel did not knowingly violate international law and performed war crimes.
Palestinians don't "choose" how much water israel allows into Gaza. They don't "choose" to have israel cut off electricity for two-thirds of the day. They don't "choose" to have their businesses crippled by Israeli economic sanction. They don't "choose" to have every entry/exit point in Gaza guarded by idf soldiers who deny free travel to any Palestinian.

I was educated on this matter by some Saudis a while back.
The “real Arabs” are only from certain countries even though many non-Arab countries make up the Arab League of Nations.

Of course I knew the Iranians are Persian but I generally thought that everyone else were Arab in the M.East (excluding recent arrivals).
