Looks like the Thomas Brenneck (lead guitar player) and Victor Axelrod (the keyboard player) from the Menahan Street Band. Great stuff and what a groove! It is a small world!
I've noticed a lot of the Dap Tone guys playing with multiple groups. I've seen a bunch of these guys randomly backing Charles Bradley and Sharon Jones too. No matter what they're always tight, which I think is a testament to how talented they all are...
I imagine myself wearing some hippy sunglasses with thick sideburns back in the 70s as I solve a crime, you know, and have those low-budget scenes where theres close ups and snap-shots as I run toward the criminal.
@Naigeli mmm... they were in Pori Jazz 2011 and also in Flow Festival this summer. hope you didn´t miss them. at least the show in Pori was a helluva show! Beerwolf for life!
Yeah, the Budos band love that era of Ethiopian jazz. Sometimes I envision a group of samurias dueling it out on the open fields with Ethio jazz in the back ground
I do not know why I like them so much..... !!!!!!!
Greetings from Athens.
Playing at The Wild Buffalo in Bellingham, WA tonight. I dont think I'll go more than 30 minutes today without listening to them.
Love these guys.
