According to legend, one evening at a wild, drunken party, Black Sabbath and and Ethiopian Jazz met each other, and made mad, passionate love until the sun rose. Nine months later, this band was born.
. s they fuck with the best
mm!
Don't fuck with budos
No.
Brilliant!
Awesome!
Been listening to the Budos Band for over 10 years ,never gets old.
Saw them live in Columbus Ohio way back in 2006 at a very small venue, one of the best shows I’ve ever seen.
Always looking for new bands, new sounds, The Budos Band, wow, best find in a very long time.
Try Menehan Street band 😎
Agreed!

The Budos Band has just gained a new fan.
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Respect to everyone watching it !
We can agree we listen talented musicians and great music!
The Budos Band is taking Charles Bradley Legacy really serious.
You Rockkk!!!
cheers from Guatemala !
I just took a listen to some Charles Bradley. From one quick listen, it seems that Charles Bradley made soul. With horns, yes, but not the same genre as Budos Band. The Budos Band's music sounds more like Afro Beat, which was pioneered by Fela Kuti.
Á
@@wouterdeheus3626 Budos Band recorded 2 songs with Charles Bradley and a lot of their earlier music sounded very similar to what Charles Bradley was doing at this later stage in his career
We all came for the music, and got what we wanted.
However, I must also tip my head to the visual editing... the constant redirection of focus to a particular highlight instrument/player is amazing.
Bongos never looked so metal lml
They have metal rims brah
Is amazing how almost all bands I found and like has it's KEXP performance, you're gods xD
Just found these guys today via iTunes. Pretty awesome! I will be buying at least one album today.
FINALLY! I have been eagerly awaiting this after hearing on the radio, and then hearing the KEXP podcast. Thank you for having these guys on. My absolute favorite band in the entire world.
"Don't play anything in a major key" a man after my own heart XD
Thank you KEXP for all of these wonderful artists that you showcase.
The song "Helpless" on Metallica's Garage Days Re-Revisited E.P. (as referenced during the mid-performance interview) I believe is a cover of a song by UK metal band, Diamondhead
Exceptional sound engineering and exceptional music!❤
This band is like the same guy in different stages of his life
I heard "Up from the South" several years ago & was HOOKED! It's like a funkier Tower of Power / "Go down gamblin'" era Blood Sweat & Tears...& my absolute FAVORITES right now.
Hell Yes! I love these guys! Love that tiny touch of Sabbath they added to their sound in the latest!!!
I just saw these guys live opening for Les Claypool and I was completely blown away. This is exactly the kind of music I've been looking for🤘🏼 the budos band rocked my fucking socks off
Man you have to listen to other artists from Daptone Records. Especially the Menahan Street Band. They are fire.
HEAVY AS FUCK

Best band in the world
If you can listen to this and not love The Budos Band... You need to reconsider your life.
Veil of shadows was instantly one of my favorite budos band songs when I first heard it. The guitar work on this live version is outstanding.
Beautiful!!!! What a great band!!!
Saw these guy's at a music festival in PA years ago and my face melted right where I stood...a few years pass and my friend who's a music promoter for the Hampton Roads area of VA brought them in to play at The Jewish Mother in Vabeach and they were just as amazing! Would love to see these guy's again!
Just found these guys. Incredible!

Being from Southern Ontario, Canada, I have some fond memories of these guys. Thanks for coming through again, KEXP. :D
Where did you see them? I only recently got into them a couple years ago!!!
The Adventures of Baron Von Hardcharger how does being from southern Ontario in particular give you fond memories?
@@GuadalupePicasso they have played toronto on numerous occasions
@@jpangia ahhhh, I wasn’t aware of that. I lived in Pittsburgh for over 10 years, and they only played there once (to a packed house). I’m now in the NYC area, and got to see them in Jersey City earlier this year, before the quarantine strictures.

Bad ass band!
Rumor has it, Soundgarden's guitarist Kim Thayill got a sudden urge to play bass with a radical buncha funky jazz-ish players, and this band was formed... rock ON 👍🏼

Awesome!
Oh yeah, music is life man.
this is real music
cmon! this deserves more than 100k!
Hell yeah!
So rad re: Antibalas story. My Budos Band story: I was at a small dink bar on Valencia Street (back when that street was still seedy cool) in San Francisco back in 2006, 7 or whatever having drinks with my pal Rene. We're talking and this band gets louder and louder and then horns kick in and we snap our head around "Who the F is this?" It was Budos Band. They were so rad and absolutely blew the lid off that bar. Budos Band forever rules!!!
Best part of content on yt

Come to Mexico!
Totalmente de acuerdo!!
Absolutely Fucking Brilliant. What a set!
Awesome stuff going on here! 👌🙌
Beard and brass.

Have to thank KEXP enormously for introducing me to some great new and different music :) I recommend to anyone a band called Delta Rae :)
Delta Rae is great, especially Bottom Of The River. Such a different sound and style than Budos Band!
I love that Troy Nelson is wearing a Nelson band shirt.

Totally diggin' this.
Kudos for Budos
I heard a few second clip in the beginning of a CSI episode and was like "wtf was that" shazamed it and got everything they put out on vinyl
. the tone itself sounds like a Gibson, don't you think? reminds me a bit like Gary Clarke Jr. 's red (Gibson?) guitar's warm fuzzy tone is just amazing.. Kudos to the Budos Band for a great band!
They're both semi hollow
I be playing along with my trumpet to these guys all the time!!! Great music!! Fun times for a single dad!!
Por fin de nuevo!!!!🤟⚡💣💥

The Budos band is why I’m going to spend $100k on audio equipment!
wow! What a video.....
Budos Band Live At Budokan -- someone seriously needs to make this happen, and I'd bet all three of my testicles that it'd sound killer awesome on viny (especially if it's a double or triple album)!!!
Saw a film and the end credits had this song.. ..gotta love Google.. I found it in 10 seconds
This is a real band doing real music! 🤘🏾
It IS so hard to get three people on the same schedule... this is why you have to blow up AS SOON AS your band is gellin'
I'm willing to dig a cave in my backyard if Budos Band will come and play in it.
Amazing
