Great video. I sold a few in the late 80s at a outfitters store. Did not believe I come across one at a garage sale for $50.00 10 years ago. These are the best mods I've seen. Extremely helpful video thanks a lot.
Just picked one of these canoes up, It's outfitted with a 5 horsepower four stroke honda. Just used it for the 1st time this last weekend on a small Lake in it was awesome. The guy I bought it off of already Installed the same swivel seat as you have And thank you for solving My problem Of the backs sticking out too far to go on a roof rack. I will be making the modification To make the backs removable thank you. The wheels on the back of the Canoe is a pretty cool idea Thanks again for that .
*I bought this model for my 14 ft Jon boat. **enjoyable.fishing** recommend love it!!! It pushes my boat with ease ( 2 men 220 each). I would highly recommend this to anyone.*
Bought my Scanoe in 93 brand new. The last 8 years it has sat in my side yard. I am going to try some of these mods and get it back out fishing. Thanks for vid
Thanks for the idea on the wheels! I just got a 1981 Scanoe and after cleaning it up and taking for a test ride today, I did the wheel mod just as you demonstrated. Took me about four hours including dinner break, really helped having a drill press and an angle grinder!
Nice setup. I’ve got a red Coleman my wife gave me for a wedding present. She has never been comfortable in it so we sistered it to one of those scanoes. Now she wants to go all the time. I’m thinking about that seat mod for “The Captain’s Chair!”
Awesome mods! My family has the same scanoe since '95, I'm going to have to nab a pair of those buckets myself, and that brush gripper will be so much easier than tying to stumps! We used to have a 5hp Mercury but switched to a Minn Kota a few years back, makes getting about virtually silent and as a bonus we can charge a phone if needed. :)
you dont have a scanoe then. the material for a scanoe does not have a space in it ....if you get water in the boat either sponge it out while fishing or tip over on the bank. you van see any water that gets in a scannoe.
@Mack's Extreme River Fishing & Outdoors Thanks it's a Colman 3 seat with a flat back for motor but jus sounds lik there a lil water inside the actual boat not alot jus a lil when I was carrying it Idk jus got it today
Hey man, enjoyed the video. I live in NC also, and wanted to know if you have found a good fitting cover for your Scanoe. I have looked online, but have not found any. My son and I both have Scanoes. Thanks, Chuck
Hey Chuck! I live in NC also (Charlotte) and have the same boat. I've been looking for a cover and have had no luck either. If you find something, keep us posted.
depending on the shape 300 is a good fair price if in good shape. My biggest concern on any polyethelyne boat is was it stored in direct sunlight or was it under a shed.
It is attached with machine bolts/screws . I had to drill 4 holes into the aluminum frame I think they are 1/4 20 machine screws(stainless steel) but can't remember the length.
no longer made.....that redesigned it so there are 2 models.....do not buy the newer one. only rated for electricmotors. isee them ocassionally on craigslist. Tks for watching.
You sir are a damn genius .... The heavier eye bolts doubling as as guides for axle genious
Dont know about Genius but tks for watching!

You remember the hornets we had in it duck hunting on e year???
@@MackinNC1 I'll need forget that, hornets crawling up my leg. I almost jumped in.
I love the wheel system implemented into the stern the most. I've already stolen your PVC rod holders idea and now the dolly is next haha
What great hacks! That boat is prostine and amazing for an ‘84. Must have been garaged the whole time.

Great video! How did you make them swivel, or they came with a kit?
Attwood Boat seat swivel. I think it is listed in the description. Tks for watching!

Nice, no frills mods!
thanks for watching!!!!!!!!!!!!
thanks , some cool ideas
Sweet set up man... I really like the tire set up thingy.... Why you call it a Scanoe?
That is Colemans name for their square stern canoe. They came up with it.
Luis Barrueta. That is the model of it and its like a skiff but its a canoe thats why they call it a scanoe
Great video and mods! Where in NC are you? I'm in Charlotte with the same boat.
Alamance co first 26 years Wake Co area next 30 years. Thanks for watching!

Thanks for the reply Mack
Would you sell this? I've been look for it but there is none out there?
