I make trout magnets out of cut in half 3" yum dingers, I get way more bluegill hits with the yum dinger material, but they do get beat up faster. I can catch 30 fish on one of my moddified yum dinger-magnets before it is garbage, so not terrible. The dinger-magnets out fish the trout magnets and berkley power eggs (my old go to). I can catch a trout, a LM bass, and bluegill (all 3), in under 3 minutes depending where I cast :P at the pond I frequent (not every time :P).
That's a lot of Bluegill! Two videos from the same location. Unreal! Right tackle for the job = success. Didn't hurt that you found the "honey hole." You're right when you say "how do you go home" when you're on them like that! Also appreciate your comment on the difference in the reel quality. Price and "higher" quality don't make a difference in the enjoyment factor of "catching" over a hundred fish a day. Great job and thanks for sharing.
Maybe you should try to buy a pack of crappie magnets instead. Maybe they made those smaller as well? These last two videos make me want to drive down to Tennessee! 😂
Good video Victor. The TM molds are the same. If you were to pay him a million bucks he would not change the size of it. Issues come in with different pigments. I'm out there on a regular basis and know the guys personally in the mold shop. Sometimes I will even have them make me a color I drew up...but I always go back to the old faithful. My colors I dream up don't catch many fish🤣
Randy, i never said the molds are different.. But the baits ARE different! They are smaller and lighter. I got 4 emails yesterday from people from 2 states noticing the same thing, so i don't think it was a one time batch. If it was me i would change the dang pigments back because these things are now too small even for me. I like a tiny lure, but this has no body left. Ask them if they changed the pigments on the crappie magnet too! If they shrank the crappie magnet, it may actually be perfect size now : )

Victor, I 100% agree. I got several trout magnets that were smaller. Not sure if I got them in a pack or got mixed in from my fishing buddy but they are definitely smaller. I even wondered if they were an off brand ?
their new batches are coming out smaller. But they say its just a different dye. I don't know about that.. But they are too small for my jigs now and i am not gona make size 14 hook jig just for them. They don't have enough meat now anyway
I love catching nice sized bluegill , much more than bass or catfish , but my heart still get pumping hard catching trout. I live in East Tennessee there is beautiful scenery , but not like mountain trout scenery in the mountains of eastern Tennessee.
I need a day in the lake like this! I’ve been going through your videos about fishing lines and the Varivas stuff looks so nice, but it seems like they are out of stock on some of the lines you and other UL guys like. Do you have any recommendations for a good alternatives?
alternative to what? I never recommended just a specific model. I like Varivas ester, but it doesn't matter which ester exactly. They all nice. I like their mono for float fishing, but i don't care which one - they all nice. Gosen also makes great ester line, and so does YGK. But none of them are cheap.

I was a little uneasy about trying an ester line because you mentioned it breaks off pretty easily. I’m new to ultralight so I didn’t want to go with something that light until I get a feel for it.

LegalisLT. But they are different. Legalis feels better but Kestrel much lighter. If u want a light combo u can do one with Kestrel
