This was a VERY good review. Never considered a Jetta as strongly as I'm considering this one. From all accounts it truly has Audi DNA. Which I know there's people out there that see it as a bad thing because you're not getting the real thing but it's smart to go for something like this. If it has the same quality and features you'll enjoy in an Audi without the price tag you'd be smart to pick this up and not the Audi solely for the badge.
I just bought a leftover 2019 SEL and I couldn't be happier We have owned many VWs over the years but Volkswagen really got this car right. It offers so much for the money.
iwolffy the jetta will have a 2.0T engine on the GLI. If you're gonna compare the specs of a GTI to a jetta, you gotta compare it to the GLI, which will have independent suspension and many other upgrades
I bought a new 2019 Jetta S trim with the 6 speed manual transmission. So far I'm loving it just about a year. Also I'm an American car kinda guy. I always buy American vehicle and I seem to have good luck with reliability. This new Jetta is great so far and the little tsi 1.4 is great. Powerful and economical.
Great review! They look good in white. I was a bit disappointed in the looks at first, but it's growing on me especially considering it's getting glowing reviews everywhere.
Nice video man. I love the clean look as I’m not a fan of dramatic looking cars. This Jetta definitely has a lot of class and is very quite with quiet riding suspensions. I think they got this one right, by using a lot of Audi cues except for those fake looking things for exhaust.
The way he talks about this car you'd think it's an Aventador mixed with a rolls Royce. Leather so luxe, steering weight even in eco is good!, great power, great fuel economy. This thing must be perfect.
Forrest's Auto Reviews No need to insult me. It was a good review. You just raved about it a lot (and in the video did not compare to anything in class, the video was much more in general) and I pointed that out. I respect your opinion on cars a lot and trust this Jetta is great. I just thought you were a little heavy on the praise.
People forget those are the 2015 Hyundai Sonata tail lamp design. The 2015 Audi A3 sedan debuted here for $29,900 back in Feb 2014, it was the first to use the new MQB underpin which this Jetta is built on.
Excellent video and very well presented. I'm sold -- that's the car for me at 71 yrs of age I'm not looking to be a GT driver, just to the grocery store and all the Dr.'s age pushes you too!!!!!!!
The 2019 Jetta SEL Premium is very nice, but I couldn’t see spending $29,000 for it or any of its competitors such as the Civic Touring, Mazda3 Grand Touring, etc. The most I could see spending on a compact sedan would be $25,000. I would either choose the Jetta R-Line or SEL.
great real world review tho..keep it up! I'm on the fence right now with the GTI 6MT, 7DSG S3, Golf R 6MT/7DSG...but waiting for the Arteon and the Jetta GLI is making the decision that much harder...that said, with local deals for the 2019 Jetta at $22k, that's a steal for all that tech, 6yr warranty and driver assist package. The engine does need a plastic cover on it to make it look better like all the 2.0T motors tho.
Dea Garic correct! Just there's a stigma associated with Audi and quattro, because audi highlights their quattro system, people think its standard equipment across the whole audi line up, but it's not.... on the other hand we have Subaru who also highlights the symmetrical AWD system and that is standard across subaru's line up. I think audi can get away with it though! Haha Thanks for sharing!
Great review indeed! I just hate that Jetta still doesn't fully have that European premium feel that older Jetta had prior to last generation. Overall car looks great, cool tech and features, just wish they didn't cheap out in the back, kinda plain, and goose neck trunk hinge? hhmmm This car will still sell for them no doubt.
I have a 2017 Passat and I have to say this Jetta looks stunning. Maybe I should have waited for the Jetta. Lol I love my Passat but this car looks great.
Overall, Volkswagen did a fantastic job on this refresh of the Jetta. I love the front cabin ambient lighting and dash. Very high end for its segment. On the other hand, I’m not impressed with the back seat: all plastic door arm rest, only one seat pocket, and no air vents. I also don’t like the fake exhaust tips. Not worth it. I think it would look just fine with it’s actual exhaust tips in chrome.
I’ve always liked the feature with putting the windows up. I used to be able to put the key in the door and the windows would go up on my 2004 Passat. Hopefully they put these features in the 2019 Passat.
I've owned 2 Jettas, a 98 and an 05. Looks like I won't be continuing that trend. Guess I'm getting a Golf when the time comes, unless they decide to take the manual option away from them aswell. I might cry dude.
Quick question: Does the VW Virtual Cockpit allow you to display the full set of gauges: Speedometer, Tachometer, Coolant Temp, Oil Pressure, Voltmeter, and Fuel?
I'll be interested in what they do with this car as a GLI. I have one now and wouldn't step down to a regular Jetta if I replaced it. Plus, I wouldn't want that torsion beam rear suspension.
Now way. The wheel design is hideous, the wheels don't fill in the wheel wells. The interior is loaded with dust/finger print magnets, as much of it is either a glass screen or piano black plastic. Everything about the new Jetta is cheapened down over the previous model.
I looked at one and was impressed with the appearance and gorgeous interior, BUT, after reading about the plethora of transmission problems plaguing this newly designed 2019 model, I ran away. No wonder they had it for a $6,000 discount. I’m not taking any chances.
I had a terrible experience with 2019 Jetta. Bad grinding noise which VW said is normal. Really? A new car with bad noise. I got rid of it after 5 weeks.
I'd rather have analog gauges than the torsion beam suspension and a headlight switch out of a 1999 Jetta. It looks like too much cost cutting went into this new model.
watching this video got me thinking twice if i’ll go pick up my 18 Jetta Wolfsburg edition. why would i get that if this will come out soon 😏 i would rather get this.
i thought this 2019 jetta SEL premium was suppose to have this so called remote start on the keyfob. all i am seeing is the same damn functions on this keyfob...whats up vw
It will be standard on the SEL Premium and an Option on SEL. As of right now it’s delayed delivery. So it’s not going to be with the first wave of Jettas.
i'm way more interesting in looking at the Jetta S and SE versions. I hope these end up coming out with the 1.8T because the 1.4T is just too damn slow
Forrest's Auto Reviews But it's not an Audi. An Audi is not a Bentley. A VW is not an Audi. Just because one owns another doesn't mean it is one. You don't have people calling BMW's a Rolls Royce do you?
Forrest's Auto Reviews Me personally I would take the Audi. Because it is exactly what it is. An Audi. Yes you are paying more for the name but that's why Audi has a much more higher value price. Not saying they're aren't similar but me personally I'd rather have a 30k Audi than a VW. Just my opinion though.
Eh. I’ll stick with my mk4s. They still look fresh and unique and have an overall better performance and feel compared to new jettas. Brand new my Jetta was 28k, And I have a gli with a 24v vr6 and 6speed. This just looks like a bland recycled Taurus. Looks like every other sedan on the road. For the same price the gti looks nicer inside and out, better engines, better suspension, just an overall better car. And don’t even get me started on the Passat. That is and has always been the worst Vw car ever made. Every generation looks and performs horrid .At least in the mk4s the golfs and Jetta’s were on par with each other
Too bad they got rid of the 1.8t... The 1.4t feels under powered and numb - the drive ability feels flat and the rear suspension went back to one piece vs independent suspension. And Auto Start is garbage - does not save emissions, gas, or have any benefit. It's annoying.
Weak engine, front wheel drive only and a mainly plastic interior... VW has a lot of work to do instead of revealing a new car they shove out a previously warmed over subpar dish from the past. A new dash and radio won't fix that garbage.
Let me tell you all. My 2009 Audi has such better interior quality than my mom's 2017 jetta! And better performance too. This is not close to an Audi at all lol
sarina xoxoxo and neither are the prices. An Audi is literally a higher end Vw. Just like Nissan has infinity and Toyota has lexus. Vw has Audi. A3 and a4 are just high end jetta and passats
Considering VWs huge vehicle lie they told. I would expect to draw customers back without cheap dollar store inserts when other comparable automakers are giving better quality.
X X - Ford and Toyota have done the same and worse things, Volkswagen actually did the right thing and offered to buy back their cars. ALL of them, costing them billions. These other company’s all they’ve done is give a cheap fix. Leaving their customers out of pocket!
Miguel Lucero it wouldn't have cost them billions had they not deceived the consumers in the first place. They don't deserve a cry me a river excuse for lying about their product lines because ultimately it destroys the confidence in the company as a whole.
Miguel Lucero Volkswagen did what they were supposed to do.. fix the lie they created. That lie cost them billions and instead of that money being a profit it became a unneeded cost.
X X Everyone offers leatherette now - BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Audi, Mazda, Infiniti, Acura, and more. The Germans invented the idea to make you pay more for real leather. The “premium leatherette” in my Acura TLX looks and feels like the real thing. I couldn’t care less. I know I wasn’t going to pay $3,000+ more for the Advance Package with real leather and a few other features I didn’t need.
1.4 with the turbo charge feels fast than 2.0 without turbo charged Vw made this 1.4 beacuse of awesome fuel economy. i am getting 5.8 litre per 100 km which insane..
This was a VERY good review. Never considered a Jetta as strongly as I'm considering this one. From all accounts it truly has Audi DNA. Which I know there's people out there that see it as a bad thing because you're not getting the real thing but it's smart to go for something like this. I drive a VW coming from American cars & I've never been happier
when I get my jetta I'm just going to spray paint a shittly done audi logo on the back.
I was sold over digital cockpit, ambient lighting and beats system.....
Getting in love with everyday driving now...
I guess I “betta getta Jetta”
Just bought my 2019 jetta. I love it!
Cesar 91 how is that transmission doing for you??? Mine is grinding so bad it's Embarrassing to put it lightly, VW said it's normal. What a joke.
Tom Zielinski after 1 year it’s all the same ?
I just bought a leftover 2019 SEL and I couldn't be happier We have owned many VWs over the years but Volkswagen really got this car right. It offers so much for the money.
I don’t understand how a $29k Jetta SEL gets digital dashboard but not a $36K GTI Autobahn.
iwolffy or ... OR... VW just hasn’t put the digital cockpit in the Golf yet. Jesus Christ, these kinds of updates don’t happen overnight
iwolffy the jetta will have a 2.0T engine on the GLI. If you're gonna compare the specs of a GTI to a jetta, you gotta compare it to the GLI, which will have independent suspension and many other upgrades
iwolffy the jetta never had the camera behind the logo. Definitely leaps and bounds better than a Corolla lol
It's easy. People that are real drivers don't want video games that are a distraction.
Leave the video games for the children in the back seat.
And thank god for that. The digital dash is horrible!!!
Your reviews are really well done. I like how you actually give us a chance too look at everything
This was an awesome review video! You took time time explain details and nuances that car shoppers are looking for. Thanks
Which Jetta is the best? The one where you get everything. All features, best wheels etc
I bought a new 2019 Jetta S trim with the 6 speed manual transmission. So far I'm loving it just about a year. Also I'm an American car kinda guy. Nice video man. I love the clean look as I’m not a fan of dramatic looking cars. This Jetta definitely has a lot of class and is very quite with quiet riding suspensions. I think they got this one right, by using a lot of Audi cues except for those fake looking things for exhaust.
Completely agree, all the new Toyota models are completely ruined with massive grilles.
Marcel Tansie *quiet *riding sorry but i'm the spelling police😂😂😂
Brutha Dnubian 😅
This is the best review by far I've seen... even better than redline?? But tell me, should I wait for the GLI version of the Jetta coming out later?
I like that U don’t sound rushed, that U are taking ur time. Great video
Ms. Vyda Dellė you're pretty! 😍
The way he talks about this car you'd think it's an Aventador mixed with a rolls Royce. Leather so luxe, steering weight even in eco is good!, great power, great fuel economy. This thing must be perfect.

curttheboywonder I don’t see where he insulted you. But okay! This generation has gotten weak. Awful.
Anthony Hernandez dude, can you stfu? Thx
Rafael Carpy Sorry if I triggered you.

the auto stop start works with the adaptive CC and lane keep assist to basically be almost autonomous without turns with cruise on.
How come every review of the 2019 Jetta is comparing it to an Audi? Did VWoA tell you guys to do that?
VWestlife that's because VW owns the Audi.
Base audis come with fwd. Its labeled as the ultra trim. Not sure if their still paired up with a cvt. But quattro is not standard equipment.
PitchTrails yes, which is the US.
Nikki De La Cruz not every Audi, I think that's for A3s and A4s, I know every A5 comes with quattro all wheel drive standard
Nikki De La Cruz awd is standard across subarus line up? My first thought was the brz lol

Small Town Loner yep. I never really cared for them after mk4s. Mk5s aren’t bad but was never really a fan
Great Video Man. I am surprised about the ride and handling of this car considering the torsion beam rear suspension. Interesting.....
Wow dude, while informative, try to be a little more objective and a little less crazy fanboy.
Go forest!! Another great and fun review! Keep me coming dude!!
Nice!! I will certainly consider this when I look into buying a new vehicle in the upcoming years.
Do you think this vehicle will retain its value better than previous versions of the Jetta?
Quick question: Does the VW Virtual Cockpit allow you to display the full set of gauges: Speedometer, Tachometer, Coolant Temp, Oil Pressure, Voltmeter, and Fuel?
You beat Soyfan again! Haha! Great review again Forrest 👍
I was about to say the same thing LOL
He definitely didn't say: "To start the car, put your foot on the break, and push the start button." Oh, wait. He did. Lol. Good video tho.
Prime Autotainment you don’t compare where you can’t compete.
One thing I noticed, the sunshade isn't opaque. It's a mesh type fabric. Lets in light and heat. Seems odd.
Awesome review once again. Thanks!
I'll be interested in what they do with this car as a GLI. I have one now and wouldn't step down to a regular Jetta if I replaced it. Plus, I wouldn't want that torsion beam rear suspension.
I have a 17 GLI and I am very happy I got it. I don't like the new look inside and out.
Did he really say that this car has BOSE audio speakers at 4:02? Such wrong information!!!! Unsubscribing.
Bose, Beats? Same difference, right? LOL
Nice...much sleeker than the outgoing model!
Magnetorheological looks like a fat ugly taurus now. Older gens are definitely sleeker and more streamline
Now way. The wheel design is hideous, the wheels don't fill in the wheel wells. The interior is loaded with dust/finger print magnets, as much of it is either a glass screen or piano black plastic. Everything about the new Jetta is cheapened down over the previous model.
Volkswagen stepping it up 🤩
Rose gold wheels? So the wheels are a shade of pink or did you mean something else?
Adjustable dampers / suspension when you select Sport Mode? I’m surprised. Please explain how that works. Thanks.
I looked at one and was impressed with the appearance and gorgeous interior, BUT, after reading about the plethora of transmission problems plaguing this newly designed 2019 model, I ran away. No wonder they had it for a $6,000 discount. I’m not taking any chances.
Awesome review. Thanks!
When is this car available to find ? I can't find it anywhere:(
I think i've just found my 50th Birthday Present 👌👌👌❤
Brutha Dnubian Wait for the new VW Arteon. The Jetta is for kids.
9:53 “.....and a little ‘winmeal’ “ 😂😂
I had a terrible experience with 2019 Jetta. Bad grinding noise which VW said is normal. Really? A new car with bad noise. I got rid of it after 5 weeks.
How's the resale value on Jettas????
I'd rather have analog gauges than the torsion beam suspension and a headlight switch out of a 1999 Jetta. It looks like too much cost cutting went into this new model.
I wonder if they'll ever bring the tdi back?
Great video! Thank you!
I just hate how on the side profile, the car slants upward in the back
is 2018 now btw, dont know how you count years there in US and A
watching this video got me thinking twice if i’ll go pick up my 18 Jetta Wolfsburg edition. why would i get that if this will come out soon 😏 i would rather get this.
Jc Suprimido you cute bro
The r line should've been different
This dude said Bose Audio Speakers lol.
It’s Beats Audio, not Bose. The damn car even lets you know what type of damn audio system you have.
KillerNinja0911 for a second I was like “WHAT I THOUGHT IT WAS BEATS” I got all excited but I still love beats audio lmao
Nice Dodge Charger led lights. From the thumbnail, I thought this was a video on that car.
The key fob is horrible design in multiple ways. So many people are going to open their trunk trying to unlock their car.
Doubt it as the actual button layout has been the same since the MK4 keys...
i just purchased one and i dont like the fact that it didnt come equip with XM radio
bro....you can LITERALY just play music from your phone. it's 2019 dude who tf still uses radios? well, apparently you.
What are your thoughts on Jetta’s reliability?
Incredibly reliable
Can’t believe how expensive cars are now across the board.
+Forrest's Auto Reviews
you should've reviewed the SE, the one most people will get!!!
The seats need to go about 2" lower for anyone over 5'10" too! What were they thinking.
Jettas don't have adjustable dampers, only the GLI.
i thought this 2019 jetta SEL premium was suppose to have this so called remote start on the keyfob. all i am seeing is the same damn functions on this keyfob...whats up vw
it's an extra option

Is ambient lighting at rear door panels?
No. Only in the front.
Is Beats better than Fender?
Belle Maestro no
The dashboard is very driver orientated, a shame the driving is usually not with VW.
Please don't call this an Audi.
Forrest's Auto Reviews But it's not an Audi. An Audi is not a Bentley. A VW is not an Audi. Just because one owns another doesn't mean it is one. You don't have people calling BMW's a Rolls Royce do you?

....and also most parts that the VW is made of has both VW/Audi stamps on them..
VW owns Audi, Porsche, etc. Does it matter that much?? 🤷🏽♂️
Audi A4 is nicer version of Passat
The A3 is nicer version of Jetta
These will be great in a couple of years when you can pick one up for nothing
smart man, that's exactly what I'm doing. I'll have mine around April 2021
Any comments on sound system.
A couple reviews I've seen of the 400 watt Beats system mention that it sounds really really good 🤷🏽♂️
I drove it for a day...and it has the best sound of any car I have ever been in...
looks like i wont be buying my 2015 jetta when my lease is up next march >:)
It is about identical to my Audi A3
Man those wheels are ugly as hell and to small, then you got fake exuast this looks like a base model
Eh. I’ll stick with my mk4s. They still look fresh and unique and have an overall better performance and feel compared to new jettas. Beautiful 2nd Gen Ford focus!!Very upscale🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣
Wheels 😨...
Nice!
I think VW is failing with the design of these new models.
Too bad they got rid of the 1.8t... The 1.4t feels under powered and numb - the drive ability feels flat and the rear suspension went back to one piece vs independent suspension. And Auto Start is garbage - does not save emissions, gas, or have any benefit. It's annoying.
Nothing signature about the headlights , it looks like a Ford edge lol
Clous von I was saying it looks like a Taurus, lol
2017 Gli here and this car is hideous compared to it. Disappointing.
These Rims are so freaking bad man, damn VW should be ashamed.
It's beats, not Bose
No rear vents? Really??
shiva shankar really
Looks like VW is trying to make some money back. I see the parts bin special! I love VW but even the key is horrendous. Nice car though.
For me the styling is just ugly. I will hold on to my '15 Jetta TSI which for me is a terrific looking car.
Paid advertisement here
"Water temperature" lmao
Weak engine, front wheel drive only and a mainly plastic interior... VW has a lot of work to do instead of revealing a new car they shove out a previously warmed over subpar dish from the past. A new dash and radio won't fix that garbage.
X X what do you expect it's a damn Jetta, might as well shop for a BMW
Wtf dude is a jetta not a Mercedes

gedaman so you're comfortable with them selling you less while you still pay more... whatever you're comfy with works for me.
audi wouldnt put a 1.4 in ther car
1.4 with the turbo charge feels fast than 2.0 without turbo charged
Vw made this 1.4 beacuse of awesome fuel economy. i am getting 5.8 litre per 100 km which insane..
❤
less engine,more money....not even DSG
