I bought a 19 Jetta SEL and really enjoying driving the car. I looked at Honda Civics and found the Jetta's to be better equipped for a better price. Also the 6yr 72,000 warr. It's basically an A4 Audi at half the price. If you want all the bells and whistles step up to the Audi brand but for low $20's the Jetta is great compared to most anything else on the market
T Mac hi you don’t hear noise come from the engine or transmisión like a vibration when the car shift. I bought Jetta 2019 2 weeks ago and try 3 different cars and have the same noise .
@@Hersses-tech yes- I have the same noise when shifting at high rpms mine is the S with 6 speed manual. But it doesn't bother me. That VW for ya, it's just different, not broken. Remember 6 year bumper to bumper warranty!!!
Now that Sir, was a great car review! YUP! You nailed it. It is a great looking car and has evolved into a classy German sedan that anyone would feel good in. I used to have a 99 Jetta GTX back in Germany. I like the direction that VW has taken the Jetta.
Bought a 2019 highline this year with 25000k. Couldn't be happier. Compare it to the other cars in this segment, there's no doubt I made the right choice!
I bought a 2021 VW Jetta R-Line about a month and half ago. I initially liked that looks and interior of it as a friend of mine had purchased one. I liked the fact that it has the MBQ platform of Audi's and other VW Group autos. Also, as I'm 45, I was driving mini-vans for many years due to young children. While the Jetta is not a rocket, it's also not a boy racer. I didn't want a boy racer. I wanted something composed, German feeing and had good interior room and tech. It checks all those boxes. It's really a great compact sedan without being stodgy with all the tech. It's ride is both quick and composed at the same time. Go to the GLI if you want sports car. The Jetta R-Line looks and acts sporty, but is not a "Sports" car. 40 mpg+ on the highway. 30+ around town. The 2021 warranty is 4 years, 50000 miles bumper to bumper. Two years free oil changes. One at 10K and another at 20K.
Been driving my VW Jetta SEL for a couple of months. Loved it. Done some modifications to the suspension, ecu, and throttle. It pretty much drives like an Audi A4 without having to spend the money. I even had a guy thought I bought an Audi. The only Gripe I have is that they should have kept the 1.8 turbo. That engine was solid. Anyways I'm glad the Jetta is getting the praise that it deserves.
1.4 gets better fuel economy and is perfectly adequate for most drivers. The 6 speed manual is more fun and can be more fuel efficient than the auto. Smart drivers know how to coast using a manual. I average 40 mpg with my 1.4, but I can easily cruise at 80 mph. If you need speed then the GLI is the Jetta to get. 🙂
Great review. I was very surprised by this car. Coming from my '05 325ci BMW I was scared I would like but not love it. 3 months in and I am still very happy! It is not AS fun but it does a great job for what it is, and feels extremely quick off the start. I really like this car!

I bought a 2020 SEL and I really like it. I did a test drive of the 2021 Elantra. It's certainly more stylish but the power wasn't that great. I got $6k off the 2020 (with 33 miles) so they could push their 2021 Jettas. It feels very Audi. When you shut the door it has a nice vault sound. I love the Digital Cockpit. It's a nice car and I hope it holds up. It's a far cry from the other 2 VWs I had. My 1st was a 1974 Bug.. I miss that car.
Wao that is good I have se model and don’t stay in the mode selected after park the car . Also the button light is in yellow color indicating eco mode and when you see the cluster say drive mode I need push the button again for shift to eco mode when I want use again. Yes maybe you right and is the level trim . I don’t know why vw put the stereo base in the se trim level my radio don’t have home mode and sound is bad compared with my sonata se entry level. But overall I am very happy with my Jetta is a lease so maybe next time I got the Passat or Tiguan .
I bought a brand new 2019 Jetta S with the six speed manual transmission. So far I love it and hate it. I wish I bought the SE trim because it includes a push button start and keyless entry. That means allot to me and I hate taking the key out of my pocket inserting it and turning the Kay. I haven't had a turn key since 2007. Besides that the 6 speed is great and built well. Fun too.
I was able to get the car at 15k. Mine is manual transmission I wanted the blue paint but I ended up getting the gray paint job. The interior stays pretty cool if the car is under the sun. I tinted the windows super dark and it made the car look ten times more expensive
What's sad Ford Motor Company will be eliminating cars from the lineup except the Mustang since more people are driving trucks, sport utility vehicles as crossover utility vehicles (cuv). Not everyone wants a truck & so on, with that said I think Ford will lose more sales for people who still want a car, your right should be more of these than SUVs which still are not that great on fuel economy but are good for pulling trailers which I thought about a 2017 Lincoln Navigator for space if need it va a truck but this car here as the Passat I'm considering if I don't stay with Lincoln model cars. Great review of the Jetta.
The American public is going all CUV or Trucks. Sedans are a no. Women also loving CUVs. So no more market for sedan for the big 3 because not many people are buying them. Japanese and Euro brands keep their sedan because people still buy them in their home market.

Yes. most people should be driving smaller cars, or rather more fuel efficient cars. Fortunately in 5 years or so, EV will be more common and affordable and many commuters, delivery vehicles, taxis, etc will be using an EV. People commuting in some overweight, over size SUV that might get 18 mpg at best are just wasting fuel, but since they can afford it, they do not care. If VW had not been so stupid and corrupt they could now be selling diesel cars in North America that get over 50 mpg......just look at what they offer in Europe, UK and other countries that meet & exceed very stringent emissions standards. But even VW is selling a bunch of inefficient CUV-SUV vehicles.
If i knew what i know now i would have purchased a Kia Forte, much cheaper and more features and safety equipment. Drivers compartment legroom should be better, specially the right knee space with that rediculously large center console. Also not Keen on special European oil you need to use also, so many drawbacks.

Car is freaking huge. Jettas were compact vehicles but now they look bloated. Not hating the car, it's just that this is almst a full size sedan.
Maybe VW will bring the Polo over to slot below the Jetta now.
I test drove it and thought it actually felt pretty small.
@@neil9658 As an owner of an 89 and 94 , car is pretty large.
ya but the real fuel consumption vs. VW guages is a different thing! my golf *always* burns way more than what the dash avg says :/
If i knew what i know now i would have purchased a Kia Forte, much cheaper and more features and safety equipment. Drivers compartment legroom should be better, specially the right knee space with that rediculously large center console. Also not Keen on special European oil you need to use also, so many drawbacks.
the interior is not solid...you will hear a symphony of creaks and rattles from the dash and sun roof after 40k kms

I bet they havent fixed the transmission issues yet. Why would they when they can charge you for reset the computer everytime. Dont buy a Jetta.
The front end of this car is ugly
This new Jetta is so fugly! That hood is from an old Sebring!
If you feel fancy in a Jetta, you are a sad sad individual.
Jetta are trash cars... Lemons each of them
Jason Hamelin hmm I question their reliability too,.,what car do you suggest?
@@chocolatewheelchair owned a 2009 accent. No prob at all. Cheap car. Girlfriend toyoto corolla 2009. 180 000 km+ no problem at all. Toyota tercel. No prob at all. Ford ranger 2003. Some prob but nothing out of ordinary.
@@chocolatewheelchair my friend bought a used 12 000km jetta from dealer. Worst purchase of his life. Turned it after one year for a subaru. The jetta did not start well during winter. He had to buy special glass wiper because even that is unique to Volks....$$$
@FlatusOhlfahrt Ha! Nailed it. I was going to ask what experience he had owning one? He listed off a bunch of JDM and a truck for his car history. I've owned an 88 and 89 Jetta, an 03 and now 19 Jetta GLI and a Golf too. Only real major repair outside of normal stuff like; brakes, struts, tires and timing belt/water pump, was a fuel pump left me stranded once on my 03 GLI. Otherwise great experience, they have all been a blast to daily drive and they're easy to tune to your own style.
