My favorite sabiki is the Hayabusa Hage-Kawa sabiki size 3. Best one ive used hands down. Just use the smallest weight possible so you don't scare the fish
I am happy with catching baits on. Lingcod is the bonus. Ha ha, now your ling is only 10 pounds instead of 12 pounds. 🤣. Great video Nick. Stay safe fishing.
Ahh you noticed my secret 😇 It's a Hayabusa "hage kawa" sabiki rig size 3. I use the smallest weight possible too, if it's too big it will scare them away from your sabiki
wow what a nice day.. the forecast has been wrong several weeks now.. while im coup up at home thinking it's very windy , here you guys are out at a lake.
Great yak set up here. . On the lings and halibut its almost a given that you just cut the leader and get your hook back later if the leader is down the throat. The leader is gonna be scratched up and potentially cost you a huge fish if reused.. #30lb Izorline green platinum copolymer 12 bucks for a 1/4lb spool , all the leader you will need for many trips. Also Much rather eat the nice ling you got vs a big Halibut and be careful with leaving fish in the water here. This is GWShark central and they luv hand outs. They wont harm you, they just want the fish, but can scare the bejesus out of you given their size.
Hahah i'm so proud of you!! The look on your face when you caught that lingcod; makes a proud papa Chovy. Treat those filthy fish with distain. LOL. Sex herring produces. Try fishing by the sailing buoy. Those flatties like to hang around there.
@@NickFish007cmon man id understand if it was a spot from shore and its secret but im just asking where its easier to launch from I wasnt asking for a specific spot ive fished santa cruz lots of times i usually launch at boat launch when im on a boat and pay but i wasnt sure its easier from the beach or the launch and if you would have to pay I already know all the beaches everyone launches from just wondering what you think is easier
Blimey, I'm the first to comment, hurrah for me ! Enjoyed it as usual and am very keen to see the next episode 👍 Roll on winter and I'll be out on the Med 😉 Keep on keeping on 😁 Edit, I was second !, Dammit 😆 And I still want a kayak like that even if yours smells of poo now 😂 By the way, you do realise poor Marcus was probably seagull food thirty seconds after you gave him his freedom 😂 Loved this episode Nick, laughed my socks off 👍 !
Poor Marcus..LOL .. thanks for another great vdo Nick..
Oh Marcus.. Thanks for watching!
My son’s name is Marcus and he’s starting his freshman year at UC Santa Cruz this fall

Only advice is watch your pole more closely, you missed several bites
Lol when I expect something, lately it hasn’t been going well. Story of our lives... 😂
💯
I been fishing for 9 years and i'm still a noob.
funny how when you want a big halibut, a big lingcod is a big letdown lol
Yeah I was pretty upset about losing that fish earlier. Thanks for watching Ish
mid to smaller legal lings are better eating, big California halibut just make better photos .

Atleast you landed a ling... too bad about the first bite that got away.....That would have been a nice hali! Thanks for posting Nick.

You were disappointed catching that big Ling smh😒 I can't even catch my keeper size 😂
😂😂😂
Adam will take you 👍🏼 Right now is good for lingcod
You are right. I will be super happy too. Who care about halibut. Lingcod tasted better. I will take you out for Lingcod when weather is nice.
Lol you were clearly not ready for that

Might’ve been unintentional lol

I blame you for the pain I feel LOL
Nice Lingcod bro! That Ling Barf was crazy! I could only imagine the smell of half digested squid. Keep grinding out there!
was this on the 3rd of july? i might’ve seen u guys out there. we hooked up on 4 halibut, 2 lingcod, and a few rockfish. wasn’t a bad day for us
Yeah that was us. Awesome job!
When you fish, focus on the rod brother! Could of had multiple fish.
Hard to focus on the rod all day long lol but I'll try
What fishing rod is that?
Daiwa Saltist 6'6
Where do you launch out of ? I’ve been trying to go
Where do you park too
