@@richardroyce4128 hahaha yeah, it can be annoying, but he made a mistake and corrected it. I guess we can't hate on the younger dudes 'if he is younger' for getting some info wrong. At the end of the day we need this franchise to continue to live on
I actually enjoy the controls. The problem most people have is that these games are from the 2012 ports. They should have improved the graphics since they are for next gen. I have been emulating these on my series X and they look amazing. I will buy when there is a sale
While improvements would have been nice, the set contains MG, mg2, MG nes, snakes revenge, mgs, mgs integral, vr missions, mgs2, mgs3, and 2 digital novels. That's a lot of good content for $60.
Anybody complaining about the lack of twin snakes needs to remember that we all spent 19 years complaining about twin snakes, so of course it isn't here

MGS1 was not intended to be played on 50" OLED screen. It is blurry mess, it is not puist it is lazy. On crt with composite cables the original looks ten times sharper. And just now I checked to be sure - i have PS3 legasy collection with exact same games + MGS4 + peace walker ion same box for less money ! WTF?
Seems the fps halving on mgs2 is doubling load times vs ps2??
If volume 2 includes twin snakes, MGS4, and revengence, I’d be very happy. Peace walker as well. MGS5 you can get anywhere so I don’t see a reason to add that in a collection

In timeline is the second after the first that is MGS 3...than the third is MGS PW...
There was a leak on Redit that Vol 2 will include MGS4, PW, and TPP. GZ not so sure no revengence
For me, it's actually worth refunding the games altogether.
What did I get for 60 EUR? Literally something that doesn't EVEN manage to run (crashes immediately).
MGS1 - 404 Not Found (not even mentioning that the emulator sucks, that it's more worthy to get the original PSX game and play it on something like Duckstation)
MGS2 and MGS3 - Crash right after start
Waiting for a sale at least half that price
yep I have both the HD versions for the PS3 and xbox 360, but will buy this to do some achievement hunting when it goes on sale.
This might be okay on a small Switch but options are horrible for PC, no options.
Buy a controller.
The controls work fine.
These are console ports.
Maybe this experience is a last one before the mgs3 remakes resets the timeline like ff7, MK and DBZ franchise right?

There's nothing wrong with the game. Everyone keeps talking about frames rate. Like there counting every frame rate in the game instead of enjoying the game. The game works just fine. It's not a buggy mess like gta Trilogy.
Tldr. Get it if you dont have it on older consoles. Buy it on sale if you want but dont pass up on this collection if you have never played these games.

well.. MGS fan fora long time (maybe even longer than you... Yes it's possible ..NES...).
I was hype by this "compilation" on xbox (yeah I have an xbox serie X...). But I remembered that I bought, back in the days ....Metal Gear Solid HD Collection (xbox 360).
Ok , it's 720p (but in 60Hz), you could only get MGS 1 (PSX emulation..) with a US account, but I'm not sure that Konami has done something "new" here (except the NES versions and the "encyclopedia" part of the product...).
I'm waiting for the remaster of Tomb raider 1 2 and 3... wait, what's the connection here ? Well, Aspyr re worked the gameplay with "modern" controls. you have also upscaled / new textures. So... and it's possible on PC but Konami has absolutely NO HUMOR you can upscale textures. if you know emulation (who don't ??), you know that you can upscale the game to 4K.
Of course it's not the same treatment as upscaling textures but the result is pretty amazing.... Here , Konami is just a lazy bastard, trying to cash easy money from fans. We don't have any good MGS anymore (or you need to love pachinko games...) and even a"re sale" is just a big joke for Konami. When someone doesn't respect you, mock you .. what is your reaction ? Turn the other cheek ?? i don't. I'm pretty mad at the MGS1 "game", MGS 2 and 3 are only re launch of the Blue Point games....
So nothing new under the sun.. disappointment but we (xbox..) have a little chance to play MGS 4. Oh , I also have a PS4 , so i know this game ....

The cinematic aspect of the metal gear series is flawless, better then any game ever made since. The controls are terrible, i agree.
Mgs2 did not come out in the mid to late 2000’s…off the top of my head I’d say 2001 max.

Sometimes I feel like I'm the only person who likes these games, based on the way people are complaining about resolution/controls as if they are trying to sabotage any future releases.
In my honest opinion, how can you call yourself a MGS fan if you won’t even play the very first 2 for the NES. Im not saying you have to like it but at least play it or give it a chance. If your a fan at least play all of the games to try to understand the game. Not only that this didn’t really help me on my decision of getting the collection, specially when you admit you were gonna praise the game cause your a fan. Smh

@@Jorge-ro3rk Well the nes ones don't really add anything storywise, also i heard the 1st is not good and snakes revenge is mixed. Im interested to give it ago when i get a chance to buy this.
@@ChrisSantinoNormally, I ask how did we not get MG2, but got SR in the U.S., but then I realize that I don't think we got the MSX as a whole in the U.S.. Now, add to the fact of the Famicom's/NES' hardware limitations, I'm not sure that MG2 would have been as good on the FC/NES as it was on the MSX.
Now, if they had released a retcon in the form of MG2 on the SNES, that would have been acceptable to me.
@@SonicSlicer That is cuz SR came out before MG2. It was done by the team who made the NES version of MG1 without hideo even knowing until after the game was released. That is why he even made MG2.

Going to be honest and say, as much as I love MGS, the lack of games on cart. really makes me not want to buy it. It's literally the entire point of a physical product. I guess I'll wait until it's super cheap and buy digital.
For a physical copy it’s completely fair for 60 if you spend any money on digital games well….. you know what you are

If you arent a karen speedrunner just moaning about a couple frames being slightly slower or loading screens taking a nanosecond longer ect then yes its worth it! You young ones dont know how lucky you are to get to have mgs1 on the lagest consoles especially xbox. I never thought id see the day. Mgs1 and special missions alone would cost you more than £60 on ebay but add it the hd collection, readable story books based on the games, all new achievements, metal gear and snakes revenge.. its a bargain. So much great stuff to be played and enjoyed. Just remmeber, speedrunners dont play the games to enjoy the story ect so dont just take their criticism as the only ones that matter.
