Honestly, normal folk don't care much about watch brands but wearing a watch does makes you look business like and smart. That is a very good thing! Having said that, my budget went to my BMW sport coupe, but I have enough left over to collect Casio G-Shock models. My current favorite is the GA 2100 Hidden Coast. I love it.

In all seriousness: Rolex is a nice brand and I like some of their watches too, but if you’re really into watches and have handled a lot of different brands, Rolex gets demystified very quickly. We all have that notion in our heads that Rolex is the pinnacle of luxury watches but that’s just not true. If you like a Rolex better than an omega that’s fine, but don’t say omega is worse. It’s the opposite. Regarding Finishing and quality over all a Seamaster beats a sub any day. If you’re just in this “game” for some kind of street cred or whatever, then you’re not a true watch enthusiast. Just a person who wants to be seen and flex his wealth.

This video was fun and it made me laugh when the RM was discussed but in the end, i don't really care what other people say. You should wear a watch for the simple reason that you can afford it and that you love it. I am not rich and i can only afford 60$ or 100$ watches at the most (for now anyway). But i choose them carefully, change the bracelet and wear them proudly, without a care. And i only get good comments on them wether it's from people who know about watches or not. It's a good conversation starter and i immediately acknowledge that my watch is cheap. This way, the other guy doesn't feel "threathened", is reassured about his superiority (who cares...) and we can just enjoy a nice conversation about the love of watches. I always have great discussions this way.

There are watch talks that i participate in where we can go from a guy unboxing a Vascheron, another guy talking about a historical george daniels piece, to a guy talking about his new casio and everyone having the same enthusiasm about the casio as the others. Wear what you like and what you can afford. Its good to have aspirations in a hobby. Thats how i got my first watches. We all do not start off with a Patek. Get a casio, then a Seiko, Oris, Tudor, maybe or jump ahead to a Moon Man speedy, then a rolex, and onward. Just have fun with it

This hobby is just so much fun. Whatever watch you collect or wear should only speak something to you. Everyone else just looks at it. You were the one who earned it. If you are buying a watch to flex well, the act of buying it says more about you than the watch. Buy what you like. I just sold 4 Rolexes and I couldn't tell you their reference numbers if my life depended on it. And one was the yellow gold and green dial daytona. Bought that a few years ago when someone told me it was too gaudy. Jajaja

Finally was able to buy myself a GMT Master II Batman on the Oyster Bracelet at 21 years old! To be honest this was a watch I set my eyes on as a stepping stone goal to a life of success and I finally did it!
Usually I like all videos you make but this one isn't right! I know lots of people who are very deep into watches but don't rely on "big money" to build a status. Saying that you must own something like a Richard Mille to get some respect in the watch game is pure snob. There are some unicorns out there that don't even cost half of a Datejust 41 (your starting point in the game)
The watch Eric channel has a heavy following and I can’t blame the host maintaining his base. I only like a couple of the Rolexes currently in production and I’m in no hurry to get one because bottomline Rolex designs case and strap are traditional yet classy but aesthetically are not exciting. They turn heads and get quick furtive glances but once you’ve seen a handful and handled a couple there is no open case back and the dials aren’t adventurous in the world of horology. They are basically safe bets amongst horological aficionados. They kind of give off the vibe that the wearer generally isn’t very creative outside the box. But each to his own I’m not hating .I just see so much more on offer from multiple brands beyond the six or seven constantly banged on about.

For the Datejust 41 you should have at least separated the jubilee band with fluted bezel from the oyster band without the fluted bezel. The price difference is pretty big. Also you should have given your opinion on the datejust that are hard to get. For me a guy wearing a wimbledon with a jubilee band and fluted bezel has nothing in common with a guy wearing a black datejust on an oyster band without the fluted bezel...
If you have a Pepsi, a Batman, a Hulk and a Coca-Cola, then it means you have iteractions of the same watch with different colors but you pretend they are very different and unique.
I'm not sure the brand says anything about me. I'm not too concerned about that bc I bought what was the cheapest I can get or the best deal I can find , that still allowed me a watch that I would enjoy wearing. But what the watch generally says about me is that I like to clean up my look for the office and pay attention to details perhaps.

I like your videos Eric, but imma have to disagree with you on the DJ41. Ive bought 3subs and 1 yatchmaster 40mm rhodium dial in the past 10 years. My first watch was a Rolex 2tone sub gold/stainless black face. Just recently purchased the DJ41 blue face diamond dial with jubilee bracelet. It priced right for what it is on the market but its a nice and sporty watch i think. Looking into a AP chrono but I just can’t justify the price. Keep up the great work with videos. There different from others👍🏾

This hobby is just so much fun. Whatever watch you collect or wear should only speak something to you. Everyone else just looks at it. You were the one who earned it. If you are buying a watch to flex well, the act of buying it says more about you than the watch. Buy what you like. I just sold 4 Rolexes and I couldn't tell you their reference numbers if my life depended on it. And one was the yellow gold and green dial daytona. Bought that a few years ago when someone told me it was too gaudy. Jajaja

Bro, I have Orient, Seikos, Yema, Omegas, Rolexes.. Rolex is not the only watch brand in the world.. I rather wear my Seiko King Turtle over a Rolex for everyday use.. Rolex I use for weekends occasionally..owning a Rolex is like driving a Rolls.. you can't take it just anywhere with you .
I just got a $20 Casio World Time black and gold or bronze. Watch collectors like it because it's cool looking. But I needed a new watch for job interviews and working.
I guess buying a JLC Reverso, A. Lange & Sohne 1815, and an Omega Seamaster but not owning a Rolex says...I'm smart with my money and buy what I like. And largely don't care for what my watch says about me, but rather how it makes me feel.

Usually I like all videos you make but this one isn't right! I know lots of people who are very deep into watches but don't rely on "big money" to build a status. Saying that you must own something like a Richard Mille to get some respect in the watch game is pure snob. There are some unicorns out there that don't even cost half of a Datejust 41 (your starting point in the game)

The watch Eric channel has a heavy following and I can’t blame the host maintaining his base. I only like a couple of the Rolexes currently in production and I’m in no hurry to get one because bottomline Rolex designs case and strap are traditional yet classy but aesthetically are not exciting. They turn heads and get quick furtive glances but once you’ve seen a handful and handled a couple there is no open case back and the dials aren’t adventurous in the world of horology. They are basically safe bets amongst horological aficionados. They kind of give off the vibe that the wearer generally isn’t very creative outside the box. But each to his own I’m not hating .I just see so much more on offer from multiple brands beyond the six or seven constantly banged on about.

For the Datejust 41 you should have at least separated the jubilee band with fluted bezel from the oyster band without the fluted bezel. The price difference is pretty big. Also you should have given your opinion on the datejust that are hard to get. For me a guy wearing a wimbledon with a jubilee band and fluted bezel has nothing in common with a guy wearing a black datejust on an oyster band without the fluted bezel...

I'm not sure the brand says anything about me. I'm not too concerned about that bc I bought what was the cheapest I can get or the best deal I can find , that still allowed me a watch that I would enjoy wearing.
But what the watch generally says about me is that I like to clean up my look for the office and pay attention to details perhaps.

I like your videos Eric, but imma have to disagree with you on the DJ41. Ive bought 3subs and 1 yatchmaster 40mm rhodium dial in the past 10 years. My first watch was a Rolex 2tone sub gold/stainless black face. Just recently purchased the DJ41 blue face diamond dial with jubilee bracelet. It priced right for what it is on the market but its a nice and sporty watch i think. Looking into a AP chrono but I just can’t justify the price. Keep up the great work with videos. There different from others👍🏾

I think it's a good looking watch that is reasonably priced for what you get.
Not yet with a budget to, in terms of buying a swiss automatic, go above a Tissot Couturier, but so far, I really like what the world says about me when I either rock my Seiko Neo Sports Mecaquartz Chronograph or the Samsung Gear S3 Frontier :P
After trying a bunch of different models, I sold them all and ended up with a 39mm MKII Explorer. Boring, safe, perfect. 🤣
