Great video! I've got to get back into this. Back in 1966 I got the RENWAL VISIBLE V8 for my 13th birthday and had a ball building it and seeing it work. Even simulated firing sparkplugs with tiny peanut bulbs.
Me and my husband are both volkswagen lover here in Philippines... I uploaded also the volkswagen engine he rebuild... And I am so proud of him....... God bless and keep up the good work sir!
@@joshuaboiii I've worked on them too, timing is easy and piston rings are anoying no matter what engine, otherwise this model is pretty similar, maybe except for some bolt placement
The oil leaks. I remember 1980 rebuilding 1600 and 2100 engines days and days. Nice watching video. Didn’t get dirty. I remember torquing on flywheel and that was it. Thank you. Downey California. Little rascals bug club 1980 to 1985.
I just finished building one of these about three weeks ago. WORTH EVERY PENNY! I learned some things about VW engines which I never knew before, such as the oil cooler inside the shroud and the gear driven camshaft. I bought a basketball case to put mine in. Way too nice to have sit out and have the dust get all over it. 👌🏽
I have no one in my town that knows how to fix a VW bug, so I was thinking to get some knowledge how I can get to know the parts I would get one of these and at lest know a little about the engine. Great video
Amazing I had a 1972 Beetle I knew every part of my engine. Being a female people didn't appreciate what I could do back then but they were impressed when I would get out of my Bug at a light and adjust things and back in and go.
Cool video. Man, this triggered childhood PTSD from when I was 9: I bought a model F-16, my favorite airplane ever, at a pharmacy with my first $10 bill. Not knowing how to read English back then, I got home, opened the box and proceeded to excitedly detach every single part from the curiously numbered plastic holder, eager to build the plane. 😐 It wasn't until I was done ripping off the last little piece that I realized the purpose of the numbers. 30 years later, I've yet to assemble anything else other than my PCs. I never got over that model building hobby failure! 🥲
That was a great video, you must have patiences of steel. I really enjoyed the start up and running sounds at the end of the Assembly it reminded me of my old VW beetle that I used to drive to school every day in 1972. Thank You for uploading this how to presentation, and for the walk down memory lane. Just Brilliant
Jesus... The detail, everything. Just a beutifull video man. I actually own an V8 haynes engine, and this VW boxer looks way more fragile than the V8. Its so beutifull to see it work too! I own some real ones and damn, this is the most real model ever (in engine category) I think! Just love it!
I recently assembled this kit after watching your video. Great kit that was a lot of fun to build; although mine squeaks like hell when it is running. 😆 LOL. Thanks for sharing 👍.
Mine too, same issue with the squeak ha do you get the same sound from the speaker (engine) as in this video. The sound from mine is terrible and nothing like a vw
Great video I just finished the assembly, the sound from mine is just a muffled engine noise, nothing as authentic as the sound from yours, is that actual sound from the model or a track you added to the video? Mine might have a faulty base/speaker. Thanks! John
We had four VW bug classics over the years +maint/overhaul 1300/1600cc engine too. (1966, 1971, 1973, 1974) The sound effect in your model's base is good/authentic, with starting sound, and change over RPM range. One improvement for the engine model would be to add LED lights in the spark-plug inserts, that light each cylinder at power stroke.

Awesome i'm totally ordering one friday
congratulations, you are now completely certified and ready to work on a real one as there is literally no diffence
xD
I actually own a lot of them, and you need to time the engine, get on piston rings etc. You know. its just harder than u think :D
@@joshuaboiii I've worked on them too, timing is easy and piston rings are anoying no matter what engine, otherwise this model is pretty similar, maybe except for some bolt placement

Thanks for posting this. I'll be buying this soon.
I recognized every piece of that model! My car has the 1600 rather than the 1100, but the principle is the same.
Beautiful vw motor 👍👍👍
Loving it. Long live the beetle.
I was a mechanic, and I had to repair many boxer engines, watching the video I got a lot of memories back. Thanks. Greetings

You forgot one thing.....the engine oil ! 😀👍good video !
I remember a time when my dad ordered up a rebuilt long block for his 1962 beetle that cost not a whole lot more than this model.
Hello, which camera do you use? thank you.

The cutting of the plastic pieces as the best part
