Man I enjoy watching your light touch strokes, you and JPO have a pleasant balanced stroke to watch on your X-Strokes. You are right, it's sad the knowledge was lost over time. When man made stones came out, I bet they never imagined so many of us would gravitate back to the old way. Too many guys ignorantly dismiss self slurring stones, with a light touch and proper rinse and repeat method they can super duper finishers 😂. Really enjoyed your series. I am enjoying sitting back and taking a break from honing content, you guys are knocking it out the park with a fresh perspective. You, Jonny and JPO are really pumping out some good stuff. Well done.
Excellent two part series my friend, I really enjoyed it! I’m surprised at how well you honed on this smaller type stone. Can’t wait to see more content my friend
Thank you for watching. It was a super comfortable shave, but not as keen as I prefer. I should have spent a bit more time fine tuning the edge. It was almost a winner. :) I am sure most would have considered it a success, but using it for a head shave it needed to be more keen. That stone can do it too; it is a very capable. Take care John.
Looks like it finished out good. Those thicker W&B are hard to show hairs popping for me. They do give a nice shave when dialed in. I think it's the combo of softer Sheffield metal and thickness of the blade that does it for me. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you for commenting and watching the video John. Yeah, they do not sing as much as thinner grinds. But my word they sure cut effortlessly. The steel on this blade is pretty solid, even though it is a latter model. It has the sensation of cutting butter when shaving; very soft on the skin. Thanks again for tuning in and hope you are having a good week. By the way, do you mind if I get your email from Eric?
Have to agree with @Eric_TheCajunBlade. Your strokes are balanced, fluid and fun to watch. Precision work that has the same feel as a watch being repaired. Absolutely going to try to emulate this in the next few days with one of my small stones. Well done and thanks for posting this series.
Fantastic two part honing video Robert! I find myself coming to all the same conclusions that you were talking about. Now I’m wondering when you’re gonna load a shave video..?😅
Lol. I head shave and it is pretty tricky to set up the camera. So I might one day; will have to see. Thanks again for watching and commenting on all my videos. I really appreciate it.
They are tricky for sure. It is only recently that I have been able to get consistent results. If you have any geometry issues, it is best to fix them first or you will be chasing your tail the whole time. Managing your slurry and pressure is also important. Thanks for watching Devin.

I have a lot of small stones, so I have had some practice. :)
Thank you for the kind words.
Cheers
Nice little stone you have there. Interesting commentary.
Enjoy the shave. Looks like it's a winner!

@ I think it would be just fine if Eric passed on my email and contact info to you. 😁
@@Johnny-Five Cool. I will be shooting you a message.
@ I checked my emails and haven’t received anything yet. Let me know when you send a message. 🤙
@@Johnny-Five I haven't heard back from Eric. I wish there was a way to pm on youtube.
It's amazing to watch you hone, could you possibly move to Croatia? Just asking!
lol. You are very kind. :)
It is funny how the internet makes the world smaller.

@ of course man I’m looking forward to it if you decide to!
I’ve never been able to establish a bevel I was happy with on these stones for some reason 🤷

Leave some steel on the blade or you won't have anything left to shave with lol
😆👍
