They need a report option in game for these - I know there would be stupid cases but these people need to be dealt with.

A reporting system would be abused. What is needed is code that notices when a driver is being deliberately dirty, incurring penalties for themselves or causing others to be penalised and then a system is in place whereby first instance is a kick from the race.
Second instance is also a kick.
Third instance is a warning to other users when this person is in a race.
Fourth. If the behaviour continues they get a 24 hour ban from GT Sport.
Fifth. If they continue upon their return (with a grace period of say 72 hours) to ram, cause pens etc then they get a week ban.
Sixth. If again they continue. A month ban.
Seventh. A permaban.
I’m not quite clear in explaining it, but I feel this type of system is the ONLY way people will either learn and/or be expunged from the online world of racing in GT.
They never actually did anything with the report system before. They sure won't start now. Especially considering all the discontent among the fan base right now. If they started banning players they would lose far too big a chunk of the current player base.
You can report them but pd don't do sweet FA , solution ACC as I am doing at present, GT7 dailys are nothing but shunt and run, ponding so called racers

I don't race in the same lobbies as you being a lower tier racer, but I have raced Klaxon several times before and don't remember him being much of an issue (I could be wrong).
My guess is he races in the higher tier lobbies causing havok, then when he drops to the lower tiers he drives sensibly to get himself back into the higher tiers then starts his campaign of chaos all over again. He probably just enjoys upsetting the better drivers,
Probably true and I don't think he is alone at all. When you go on some profiles you'll see there are quite some people that finish 3/4 or 4/5 of their races in top 5 and have like 400 races in sport mode but they are still DR C or D, which doesn't make sense at all. I think they just want easy wins against worse drivers. So as soon as they get into a better lobby they start ramming everyone and ruin everyones races so their DR goes down and they can have easy wins again.

PD need to bring back the disqualified setting
If you try to take someone out multiple times during a race you deserve a ban from the game. This takes the enjoyment of competitive racing away. I agree with you 100 procent.
I am a low A driver . Always SR S. The first times, I was honored to met A+ in my lobbies. But I was far from imagining I’ll Know the most toxic races I’ve ever had. Kimi velocini or klaxon aren’t alone. This week, each Bathurst was a total mess with burnout drivers playing road rage . Penalty system must be fixed. SR rank seems much friendly than the first years of gt sport . I miss it

I'm a low A rated driver, and I rarely race anymore. GT7 is basically just a time trial game for me at the moment. I'm sick of my racing and rating being destroyed by dirty drivers. Unfortunately this isn't a minority of events in my experience
3 out of every 5 races in GT7 I get rammed off track. Sometimes I just quit the game after just 2 races because of the dirty drivers

Hey Kie! Yes, I do avoid daily races because there are rammers. There are tons of great drivers on GT7 sport of course, but like you said, habitual rammers should be banned.

I don't play online because the tuning page is soo daunting. Everyone races with cars tuned specifically for their driving and I don't know how to tune cars so I always feel I'm at a disadvantage. Also I have no clue what car is best for what race. I think GT need to do better explaining these more within the game.
It's a game, no one truly tuned car. They hit button and joystick, picking choices that make your HP going up, and that's it. The selection of tires and how they feel like, you just have to go in a race to try it and you will know. Weight reduction help a LOT in this game. This game is very specific about cars, so in most race, the game already turning off the cars you cannot use for a race, and the one you can use is going to be clearly pointed out. Pick one car and boost it to the limit of the race, not above.
Agree. The penalty system needs to be revised. I get more punished by accidentally going out of the track and hitting a barrier than an idiot crashing on me.
Just saw that today, somebody took a guy out on Mountain, put him like 13 seconds behind and he still got a 1.5 sec barrier penalty. LIKE WTF PD
I saw race 2 on Rory’s stream, was clear that Klaxon was taking everyone out, I said in chat, you wouldn’t be happy with that turn 1 take out. He’s ramming everyone, needs a holiday from the game, yes!
I totally agree!! Laguna Seca is such a great track and we all could have a lot of fun racing there. But this week I often thought I would be playing Wreck Fest...never seen so many dirty racers🤮 This guys ruined my SR from S to E in only 6 races! They drive side by side and kicked me out before the corner (and get no penalty, WTF?!) or breaking much too early, so I have no chance to avoid driving in to them... and then I got a penalty🤬
I didn't know that I could report them and they could be banned... now I will do that and we all should to have better races in the future!!!

Hey Kei. Fully agree. Some sore of consequence is required. I work really hard getting a good A Drivers Rating and maintain a S Sportsmanship Rating. But only race in the championships. Some people in the Daily races just don't care. No consequences.
That’s the issue isn’t it… we work hard to get our A/B SR:S over many clean races, and then one or two races with idiots causes that to drop…quickly too.

yeah this happens almost every single time i do online races. it makes doing the daily races nearly impossible to compete in. it's so frustrating. a lot of times too they don't even get a penalty!
I think GT7 has been cleaner overall but yeah early global pandabear I gave up on GT Sport altogether due to the abuse in races, but it still happens a fair amount, just need to learn to avoid what you can I suppose. Also if someone is bang out of order in a race I just add that user to my block list and we don't race against each other again, if we all did that then they wouldnt have anyone else to race against apart from those as dirty as themselves...
I only got GT7 last week and this is the reason I'm reluctant to try the online racing.
I came across this Klaxon 69 guy today in a race. I was just behind him and he crashed, and I couldn't avoid running into his wreckage. What did he do? Did he apologise? No, he abused me.... What a clown.
I’ve been wanted to try this but if you pause the game does it put your car in ghost mode? How about pausing right as you are lined up to be killed?
I'm in the lower lobbies and haven't played for over a year because of the filth/broken penalty system.

I'd have a system where players can tag bad drivers, and when enough tags are accumulated their name turns red to alert drivers in the lobby that the highlighted player doesn't race fairly. Also the red highlighted player has far more aggressive ghosting. Remove the dopamine hit, and they'll get bored and leave.
I quit sport mode on GT7 because of dirty drivers/sore losers, been stuck between D and C driver rating for months, and I'm getting really fast vs hard AI, online lap time challenges and circuit experiences. I'm just done grinding ranked, my patience has limits and some of these idiots don't evolve as a driver so they play dirty in low lobby and that somehow brings them pleasure. Just pathetic.
Yes. I haven't raced online in a year because I had guy take me out in a Nations Cup race and daily. And that just changed everything.
Was in a lobby in Daily B yesterday. Was trying the Supra which was horrible for that race. Was in last place but caught up with a Brit called Johnathan. He made plenty of mistakes so I caught up pretty easily. Then he just decided to completely ruin my race for an entire lap and then ragequit. Completely unprovoked from my part. You were even in that race, 1st place from start to finish.
Didn't stop me from racing tho. Just took a little break from racing and improved my QF time and then returned and have been top 5 all races since :)

Yep. I tried online racing when I first got GT7, but had so many races completely and utterly ruined by bad driving, that I just gave up. In fact, I hardly play the game at all now.
Can anybody explain to me how people like Kiaxon Kimi velocini, Momoz etc can still be in A/A+ lobbies and have high SR ratings.
Some how these rammers in UA-cam videos rarely seem to get penalties or take hits to their DR and SR. If I miss a breaking point and softly bump into someone, I instantly get a penalty. And I'm rated A/S.
They definitely put me off as I find it very hard not to react and I'm trying so hard not to be that guy
I haven't raced online since GT5, since people pretty much ruin 'Gran Turismo: The Real Tinkering Simulator' for me. I remember doing Seasonal Events with everyone perma-ghosted in GT5, yet inevitably people would go flying off track after ludicrous ramming attempts in high-speed braking zones.
I just wish the bots weren't trash, rendering every race a solo time attack. It's kind of fun to dodge the bots when you start lapping them though, they take blue-flag appropriate middle lines but then cut over suddenly to meet the apex anyway.
If the penalty system wasn't just as flawed as the bots I'd give it a go; I'm too much a misanthrope to bother with the current state of affairs.
Is this game worth getting on the ps4? I just cant justify buying a ps5 lol. But dont know whether to avoid or buy this game? Cheers for any helpful advice ;)

I refuse to race online because of this. I USED to race way back in the early 2000's. Mostly Nascar stuff, had a GREAT battle at New Hampshire with a driver, WON at Atlanta, but every time I get the itch to race I just find one of these video's. Stops that itch immediately.
I had been contemplating doing some online racing. I'm brand new at this. But after seeing this kind of reckless racing I'm not sure I even want to try.
Not as many dirtbags in DR-A compared to C and D. I got into B a while ago but I wasn't good enough to compete as I'm new. So got demoted to C then got rammed off continually putting me all the way into the bottom of D, and now I can't escape
Recently came back to GT7 after a break for a few months, and online lobbies are an absolute joke.
I’ll preface what I’m about to say with the admission that I am NOT a good racer on GT. My days of being quick-ish online from Prologue or GT5 and 6 are long gone. I’ll be honest and admit I’m probably only worthy speed wise of being in Class D. My sportsmanship rating is S, but driver rating keeps fluctuating between D and C. I’m slow but try and remain fair, if I know a car is faster than me I’ll signal them to go past and let them by. If I feel I can keep up though I try and race cleanly. But just lately, in the Gr.3 race at Kyoto and especially at Spa, it’s been nothing but corner cutting, ramming, brake testing and by some people ignoring the mandatory pit stop.
Starting to get really discouraged from racing online. I know I’m not fast enough to win but I’d still like a clean race from time to time. Starting to think it’ll never happen. There seems to be no proper punishment for dirty racers, while mugs like me just get bullied off the track.
Agreed. My first daily this week, at 3:00 AM EST, costed me the S SR, since I was wrecked right and left, which ruined my race. This was truly disgusting and yes, I don't think I'll be racing any dailies. Too many shitheads this week.
I've lost S as well from getting shoved off all the time too. I really enjoy this game, but there's a lot of players that will just push you off all the time and still keep their ratings.
I've come across drivers like this at every level. They are frustrating but they will never make me not play the online sport races. It may be why I use the bumper cam which gives me the rear view mirror because it gives me the ability to see them coming and adjust to avoid them in most cases

I had someone smashing me off the track today for the whole race, in the after party I called him a scummy cheat. He reported me and now I'm banned from my psn 😤
Video's like this need to be done ✔ sometimes taking the high ground don't pay ur bills lol plus I like looking out for dirty drivers in my lobbies so I'm aware of them and last but not least... these Video's are entertaining 🤣 good work kie

Thankfully when you're a slow driver like me (just got my C speed rating 🎉) you don't tend to see much of this, not the intentional stuff anyway. I'm a B rating for fairness, only done about 20 online races so far and my main aim is to get A+ or S, whichever, for fairness.

Already mentioned this with Kireth a couple of times. Call of Duty has a system that al the cheaters will be in one lobby against eachother. Put these people like Klaxon and KimiVelochini in one lobby against eachother and let them do their thing... Would be fun to watch and they don't bother the real racers anymore.... To really ban them is a bit of a thing... Won't do that right away... But this would be a good alternative. They are able to play the game tough they are meeting their own faith! ;)
I hate racing online for this exact reason. The amount of people who were driving dirty on Laguna Seca and getting away with it was fucking insulting. Online racing isn't fun anymore! You manage a few corners if you're lucky and then get rammed off going into a corner, dive bombed or forced wide. PD need to ban people like this guy make an example. If they don't clean their act up. OR They start at the back of every race 10 seconds after everyone else.
I've completely abandoned daily races and plays only qualifications and time trial because of rammers... It is 100 times worse in lower DRs and almost 30% are rammers
totally agree ban them all , this week at bathurst im 4 out 5 races i get hit & punted into the walls from top grid spots , im at the point where i dont wanna race now , its horrible , and not s--- with the way the force feedback wheels spin like mad when u do get put into the walls there is a chance u do get hurt , then the f.b stops & cuts in & out & u cant turn the car around & u get stuck on the wall , it cant be good for the lifespan of the wheel aswell

I got many assholes on this game, one in particular was like this one you had in this race (as well from UK xD), the thing is I'm not as good as you, and once my race is ruined I not able to recover. The guy did not even get a penalty for his hunt on me, while I got a 3 day ban for calling him garbage like he is. You really must love PD when they set moves like this.

People like this is why I avoid online, yes. I wish I could have fun, but I don’t want to run into people like this, which if it was a a bit stricter for this sort of behavior, I would likely at least try it.
I've been playing more single player races and other videogames in the past couple of weeks because the rammers are too infuriating in Sports mode
It does put me off online, so I’ve decided to single player until I can race a bit quicker. I think the ban should be for 7 days, then 14 days then 21 days then 28 days, if there is no improvement, then a complete ban on sport for 1 year

Racing from the back can get you out of the lower lobbies quicker but I know what you mean.
Would be difficult to ban people i think. But it shouldn’t be as easy to keep your DR and SR when you constantly hit other drivers. Why doesnt the game penalise them. PD created a system that doesnt work.
I agree. I'm a fairly new player and managed to get into DR-B, SR-S. I've made some pretty bad mistakes and ruined other's races by accident and I wasn't penalized once.
Polyphony definitely needs to address the dirty driver situation. Not only on GT7 (which I can't even play on PS4, though I was promised when pre ordering I could) but on GT Sport (where I am currently stuck, but STILL pay good money to race online) as well.
I Really like competing in daily races but considering the situation,lately i prefer to improve the times of the gold in the licenses to enter the top 10 stars 😉👍🏻
Especially in the lower ranks, people have no idea how to race. I got into a convo last night with someone who didn't even understand what it meant to squeeze someone, or why it was wrong. Ignorance is no excuse, but it absolutely puts me off to playing and trying to rank up, and seeing this type of behavior in higher ranks makes me want to stick with iRacing / ACC on PC which while not perfect is miles ahead of the standards I see in GT7. 100% in agreement that there should be some sort of reporting / banning mechanism, but that would require PD to take a very active role
Maybe it's my DR and my matchmaking, but I don't get many of these bad drivers in the dailies. We just get some super aggressive players, especially from Brazil where they dive bomb into corners but not too bad. This guy that you raced against is a nightmare.

I've still not played GT7 but I notice the top end of B DR is just straight up awful. People like me who are desperate to make A. Tho I don't ever drive dirty. Well ok sometimes I've retaliated but now I just leave the lobby.
I think this guy has a US or Canadian account. Ran into a guy that drove like that the other day. His GT7 nickname is Vrooom I believe. Decided to single me out every race, but was very dirty to everyone in general.
I don't race dailies due to drivers like this. I do race GTWS, but mostly race within Lobby.
That is why I never do public arena online racing with any racing games. I always want to do dedicated league racing where the drivers are there to race cleanly, not to do demo derby. Also you never know what kind of controllers public drivers are using. They may not be using a wheel controller, so they may be having keeping car under control. NOTE: there are some very good drivers that can use other controllers.
So I guess with this driver in question, just have to turn him in and see what happens. Like in IRacing you can put drivers on a black list so they can't enter your races. I don't belong to IRacing, but heard they had that when watching youtube races a few years ago.

Haven't played (mainly Forza2 &3)in many years but this must still be a thing?
Don't worry you'll get to play with the best that way too at least I did.
They can do something like Valve did in CS, when you have a certain type of behavior (cheating, griefing etc.) you would then match with people similar to that "reputation level".
If he's driving like this all race long, don't fight back and just sit tight. A few races later, matchmaking would put him in a lobby full of people doing stuff like this, so if he want's to play bumper cars, he can do that.
GT already does that but it’s not as quick at doing it as GT Sport was 👍

they should get a perminant ghost for a month and if they drive through other car whilst ghosted a 2 sec pen for every car, or gta style dunce livery for every car.
I agree that something should be done to rectify the problem of ramming. All this talk of banning people is a little strong though. I had no problem with the penalty system when GT7 first released, that being reinstated would be enough for me. Maybe go a little stronger and penalise deliberate ramming with say a 20 second penalty, or maybe a time penalty and a power restriction for the remainder of the race. I don't know, but something like that would be a better option than banning people.
Yes these kind of drivers spoil the fun of this game for everyone, as I can only get a 2 or 3 races a night, first go in RACE C was horrific, I've had enough I'm hanging up my wheel for good
In gt sport there was a person who liked to ruin peoples races and it took a long time for him to get banned, and because of him I stopped racing in GT sport,.I haven't tried in GT 7 yet but it seems like the same problems with durty drivers getting away without any consequences again.
The first thing they need to do is change the penalties system back to how it was in gt sport, there is no collision penalty and strong barrier penalties which means people just join races with a specific goal to smash people off, the person who rams gets no penalty the person who got rammed will get a damaged car in last place with dirty tyres and a 1.5 to 5 second penalty for touching the barrier once and obviously more if you hit it twice or 3 times, it's a complete joke, I went from A,S rating to D,E in less than ten races over 2 evenings of playing because there were certain players joining the race just to smash each other and not actually race

That's disgusting behaviour. It's so frustrating that we can't get a decent penalty system! It's a shame because I love online racing and so many competitors keep it fair and had some fantastic battles.
The first thing PD needs to do is to penalise this kind of driving ingame. Most of the times, on purpose or not, you get pushed off track, get damage, sometimes get a penalty for hitting the barrier, while the driver that hit you got to stay on track, got damage as well, sometimes they get a penalty (sometimes not even that), and they lose a fraction of the time you lost. This in itself perpetuates this kind of behaviour.
They need to put all these players in lobbies together. They can then happily Ram each other all race.
Something need doing about it. It’s very rare I can have a race without someone trying to knock me off of the track at some point and it takes the enjoyment out of it
We need a smarter penalty system, and the consequences for dirty driving should be way larger. I'd like a SR rating that doesn't work with the letters D to S. But one with a 0 to 100 range which is than also connected to the overall car performance (BHP) for example.
So when a driver makes an idiotic move like klaxon made on Interlagos, it should cost him something like 20 SR penalty points - and in relation to that have his car's BHP cut down 20%.
Automatically he will be out of the lobbies cause his SR is too low, and the cars he drives will be incredibly uncompetitive making the game unplayable.
In order to get the SR and BHP back up from 80% to a 100% you would need to drive 20 clean races.
A reporting system would be abused. What is needed is code that notices when a driver is being deliberately dirty, incurring penalties for themselves or causing others to be penalised and then a system is in place whereby first instance is a kick from the race.
Second instance is also a kick.
Third instance is a warning to other users when this person is in a race.
Fourth. If the behaviour continues they get a 24 hour ban from GT Sport.
Fifth. If they continue upon their return (with a grace period of say 72 hours) to ram, cause pens etc then they get a week ban.
Sixth. If again they continue. A month ban.
Seventh. A permaban.
I’m not quite clear in explaining it, but I feel this type of system is the ONLY way people will either learn and/or be expunged from the online world of racing in GT.

This guy should be warned and if he continus be banner at least from sport mode.
Competitive online gaming needs to require an age verification and an IQ test to be allowed to play.
They need to not only ban them but also ban his console from every playing online.
