My very first electric guitar was a Yamaha Eg112...which is identical to the Pacifica only mine was black with a white gaurd and had 3 single coils instead of the Hss
That gift guitar is amazing, dude has taste and talent! It's hard not to make a sparkling guitar with your goofy dragon look completely off the wall. He did a good job of making it tasteful but still fun without being tacky.
This guy who modified this trogly's guitar is very kind. I wish success to him. If he does it professionally one day, you could put his contact in one of your videos.

It was a nice gesture for that person to make you a hand painted guitar with their first guitar. That nice blue Epiphone would be a good way to return the gesture. It’s not like you’re hurting for guitars . 👊🏻
@@igorshunch L7 is an all girl band if I remember? I know of them, but I don’t think I’ve heard a lot of their stuff. Only all girl bands I’ve seen live was Girlschool (way back) and Kittie. Of course I’ve seen lots of female players in other bands (Smashing Pumpkins, White Zombie, etc) . I was going to see Code Orange before this covid crap hit. That chick is badass. In it to win it.🤘🏻 But primarily, anything that’s heavy, I like. Pantera, cannibal corpse, everything from early Priest to contemporary metal bands. I’m an old metal head. But I don’t pigeonhole myself to a certain “sub genre” of rock or metal. If it hits you in the face like a sledgehammer, I’m in. 👊🏻

That Adam Jones was really offensive because on an absurdly expensive guitar, the case had a chip out of it, and the guitar was scratched. How in the world does that even happen? Unreal.

Refinishing finished guitars for the custom ordered ones isn't that uncommon, Fender did that all the time back in the day and that's how you got those awesome looking guitars where the finish has worn off showing the original finish under that and then that's worn off so you see the primer then if that's worn off you get to the wood. All those layers makes for really interesting guitars!
Many of us as beginners in the 90's (or80's) started with the Yamaha Pacifica. They played well and sounded really good. Afterwards when you formed a gigging band all you needed was a decent sounding amp that was loud enough or a great 12 watt tube amp, a 57 and a coat hanger!
Sweetwater is my go to online store and RARELY have anything go wrong.I actually started using them years ago because I liked their layout and ease of use of the web page.Pay attention other online stores.
Much love for the customised paintwork, but not much love for the Yamaha Pacifica, it seems. I think Trogly might actually appreciate the 611 with the root beer finish though, and I wouldn't mind seeing him demo that, or the one he just received.

I really miss the older Dean USA cases like the one for my Cadillac. They were made in Canada and they feel super premium. Actually more solid than a lot of Gibson OHSCs I've seen.

I just love the unboxing videos. Thoroughly enjoy your videos. I'm surprised you haven't done much with vintage BC Rich...they can fetch higher prices than a lot of Gibsons. I have a 1980 BC Rich Eagle deluxe bass-top shelf bass. My guitars are a 2001 Gibson Les Paul Standard and a 2003 LP Special. Basses are the aforementioned BC Rich and a 2007 Rickenbacker 4003. Gotta say , I really like the sparkly blue Epiphone LP and would love it if it had a matching headstock ! That smokey brown Gibson looks nice , especially with the Zebras 👌
Fender did a run with a very similar color.. They borrowed the color for a run of squires also.. Can't remember the run. They were strats.. That color sells.. ! I had 2 strats. One was vintage in black with tortoise shell gaurd and the other was a dumpy spuier strat witj that finish. I tried to sell the black one but had the blue one in the background and thats literally all that was commented on. The blue one..
This is one way of refinishing a factory reject, at least we are now aware to avoid these custom colours. I am surprised at Sweetwater doing this, if i had bought it. it would be going back.
Yeah, same. My biggest guitar regret is selling my first good guitar. A 1998 mexican strat, blue/purple metallic. I got ripped off on craigslist with it. Paid $300 for it!! For a broken neck! I was still a new, ignorant beginner, and he sold it to me with a dead neck/busted truss rod, which i had no idea about until the luthier took the 80$ from me for a set up, just to tell me my neck was dead and couldnt set up my guitar. So, that was $380. I bought a brand new 2014 mim maple neck with jumbo frets, and learned to set it up myself. That guitar was perfect. $180 for the neck. So, a total of $560 spent! I couldve bought one brand new, but it taught me priceless lessons. Lmao. Well, I fell on super hard times, and sold it.....for $300. The buyer got lucky, and I regret it til this day. I am an idiot, I learn things the hard way, and my business skills suck. I sure hope that buyer loves that guitar. It was damn-near brand new. Smh. Dont sell your fav guitar. You'll regret it. But, I now know how to set up guitars. Truss rods, action, floyd roses, intonation, soldering, and even nut making. The biggest things i still have to learn is fret levelling. And hopefully refretting. I just ruined a lp copy. Went super low and uneven on the fret levelling. Lmao. More hard lessons.

I regret selling my first "quality" guitar - A Lado Hawk SuperStrat with an HSS setup It had Bill Lawrence pickups and coil tap at the bridge. It started my love for Kahler floating trems. Traded it for an Ibanez with a Floyd Rose. Found that i am not a fan of Floyds and that Ibanez got new pickups along with coil taps but wasn't as nice as tue Lado. I check weekly to see if i can find a Lado like the one i had and haven't found one yet
That exclusive SW color figured LP is the same scheme on the blueberry burst epi 335s MF, AMS, zzounds etc have. Definitely not my favorite, but it does look better on the 335s imo
I have to say, there is so much conflicting info on what a good starter guitar is. For one, I am a lefty so where I live in Canada my choices are very limited. I am just about ready to give up on my dreams of ever learning how to play guitar. Probably for the best as I am in my early 50's. Lefty guitars are not cheap as they a limited.
Mark, I have a piss pounded Kona acoustic Electric guitar that just happened into my collection of stuff. It's kind of rough, needs a tuner and a peg and a little tinkering and it'll work. So, I've had it for sale at$40. No hits. I GAVE it to a visiting left handed friend and he purposefully left without it. Lol. I figured it was like you said, lefties having such limited options and available guitars that this thing was going to be a hot ticket. Nope. No love for the upside down. I would like to hook a lefty up if I could, like you were describing in your post. I'm sorry man, I really take a lot for granted being a right handed player.but I have big old silly goofy feet, so when I need new shoes I buy what they have, not what I want. @@saltpeter7429 Sorry I shouldn't complain but every now and then I get these triggers that kinda set me off. It gets frustrating when I can buy a right handed starter electric guitar for around $250.00 canadian and then I go to look for a left handed guitar and the cheapest ones I can find are in the $500.00 - $600.00 range. No one seems to stock or keep any stock of the cheaper left handed ones. I still have kids at home and they will always come first. Back in 2013 I suffered from a work accident that has left me on disability. I have worked hard my whole life so when this accident happened it has affected my mental health quite badly. I have been trying to find ways to improve my mental health and wanting to learn how to play guitar has interested me. But when you are on a limited budget other things comes first. I will continue to keep looking and maybe someday I will find what I am looking for that fits our budget. I have been told I am kinda a odd duck because I write with my right hand and do everything else with my left. Take care.

2 kilos of coke in the case lining is where that weight comes from.
They are probably using particle board in their construction. It is much heavier than actual wood.

Phil McNight has mentioned numerous times how good the Yamaha Pacifica guitars are for the price.
Yamaha are great. I just recently unboxed an 83 Yamaha SG 1000 which was known as the Les Pau killer. This thing sustains for days!

Gibson came out with a Studio Smokehouse burst in about 2018 I have one. The Epiphone ones don't hold a candle to the Gibson finish
And will only get better with age.

I have to say, there is so much conflicting info on what a good starter guitar is. For one, I am a lefty so where I live in Canada my choices are very limited. I am just about ready to give up on my dreams of ever learning how to play guitar. Probably for the best as I am in my early 50's. Lefty guitars are not cheap as they a limited.
Mark, I have a piss pounded Kona acoustic Electric guitar that just happened into my collection of stuff. It's kind of rough, needs a tuner and a peg and a little tinkering and it'll work. So, I've had it for sale at$40. No hits. I GAVE it to a visiting left handed friend and he purposefully left without it. Lol. I figured it was like you said, lefties having such limited options and available guitars that this thing was going to be a hot ticket. Nope. No love for the upside down. I would like to hook a lefty up if I could, like you were describing in your post. I'm sorry man, I really take a lot for granted being a right handed player.but I have big old silly goofy feet, so when I need new shoes I buy what they have, not what I want. Martha Focker, can I get a witness?
@@saltpeter7429 Sorry I shouldn't complain but every now and then I get these triggers that kinda set me off. It gets frustrating when I can buy a right handed starter electric guitar for around $250.00 canadian and then I go to look for a left handed guitar and the cheapest ones I can find are in the $500.00 - $600.00 range. No one seems to stock or keep any stock of the cheaper left handed ones. I still have kids at home and they will always come first. Back in 2013 I suffered from a work accident that has left me on disability. I have worked hard my whole life so when this accident happened it has affected my mental health quite badly. I have been trying to find ways to improve my mental health and wanting to learn how to play guitar has interested me. But when you are on a limited budget other things comes first. I will continue to keep looking and maybe someday I will find what I am looking for that fits our budget. I have been told I am kinda a odd duck because I write with my right hand and do everything else with my left. Take care.
