I like the offer idea you mentioned about giving a value add, not a discount. People looking for discounts, don't turn into long term clients. They are always looking for the cheapest deal.
I agree with most of this even as a marketing agency. If you want to know which leads are coming from us sometimes car detailers just ask where they are from. If they saw your ad than you know the agency brought that revenue. A landing page needs to be built well. At the end of the day that makes a big difference. Just look at stats of what is doing well and what isn't. Many detailers would be fine with a normal website just due to the fact that they may not run any other ads.
Interesting. I developed my website and run ads directly to it and have had quite a bit of success with it converting visitors into clients. However, when I switched over over to an ad agency that had just a landing page it almost put me out of business.
Good insight. To add some context here that I don’t add in videos like this where I’m trying to communicate only 1 point: You can have success running ads in 1000 different ways and there is no 1 right way. When running ads directly to a website the things most detailer do that create the problem is: they don’t have an immediate way for the lead to contact them, they don’t have easy to grab pricing/service information. I’m with you in that the most successful ads I’ve ever created run directly to the website… that said, in the very beginning stages of running ads for MOST Detailers who are creating limited time offers to generate a small amount of initial business, running ads to a landing page with a clear offer, and a quick way to contact the detailer (generally the offer covers something that most leads Intuitively want like a 20% off complete detail) is often a very easy way to implement basically no ad strategy and yet generate a lot of calls for a very low cost per click. Again, for full context, after a website is set up properly ESPECIALLY with the proper organic foundation, running ads directly to a properly structured home page is the longest term game in town. This video is mostly for beginners who don’t have the funds to do crazy stuff or hire a marketing agency that is worth their salt. I would call this a quick fix for needed immediate cash flow.
So in my case I have an online booking system that is attached to my website. But I run ads to my homepage, would you think that running my booking system as my landing page would be better?
Good question. The point of this video is not to say that always running to a site is bad. It definitely isn’t. This is just one strategy that can create a really low cost per click for beginners with little funds. Where you run the lead to directly depends on a lot of things about how your site is set up. In terms of best practices I would say when running directly to the home page of the site make sure there are easy to navigate buttons that allow the lead to contact you and/or quickly click to see basic services with pricing

Very good insight, Wilson! Your knowledge is incredibly helpful!

Would you recommend more than one landing page targeted ad running at the same time?

We’re you able to change your landing page to your online booking? I was curious about that too. @sandiego6199
