TUMOE: Yesterday I saw a Combat Protocol dealer. Creeped all my Last Protoss homies out! Seriously though, Demolde really needed more Eternals and even some Cybros Arbiters to deal with those Floodwalkers. The Xill air force doesn't pose much of a threat so Optic Rays would've countered their anti-ground army. Initiators(adepts) don't do nearly enough damage to Roachers as they're not light spam, but adding Fallen(High Templar) and more Arbiters would've done much better despite the gas cost. Oh, right, today's the big patch day where some of the more dominant races get hammered.
The Xill are Pure Born(actually pure born, not those Ihan-Rii posers) who were bullied by other Pure Born for not being pure enough, so they had no problem fusing with the Zerg. There are some very real hybrid though, just in other factions/races
yeah in fact devs proposed infested protoss at the very beginning but deprecated that because of this reason. But I feel it will still be fine to have infested protoss mach-units where the original protoss operator inside is killed and the zerg takes the control, no violation on anything😊
One notable thing about Xill is that they also don't research upgrades - instead each of their units have to be upgraded individually. It's instant, but it does make their units more expensive. Only protoss units are upgradeable, zerg units are mostly there to be chaff for the hard hitters. You might have also noticed that newly built xill protoss units are a bit slow. That's a "New Born" mechanic - newly made xill units still need a minute to acclimate to hybridized bodies, so they are much slower in the mean time. You have an upgrade to reduce this period, plus robotic and zerg units don't have to deal with it. Xill's biggest problem is their total lack of good air power. It took some arm twisting for them to get *one* combat able flier at the end of their tech tree, and the other two are a difficult to use caster and a carrier that flings scourges (anti-air) and can spawn banelings (anti-ground), but becomes an overpriced flying paperweight once it's out of scourges and banelings go on a (lengthy) cooldown.
actually infested protoss was deprecated because the mixture of zerg and protoss is hybrid, but I feel it is fine to have infested protoss mach-unit where the protoss operator inside is dead and zerg takes the control😂 cool idea

With a quick glance, it does make sense for me that the "infested Protoss" faction is really just Zerg taking over Protoss machinery, battlesuits, and structures in the same vein as with Terran infastructure. The Protoss species themselves may not be able to be infested, but their mechanical stuff certainly can. (Unless they too fall under the anti-infested clause an I didnt know about it beforehand). Under 10 races would fine but 30+ is too much. It's understandable that everyone has his ideas and playable options, but from tournament and balance perspective it's a nightmare. Do you know someone who will be interested to work on SC2 extension pack? Have an idea for years that could bring SC2 on another level. Working title "SC2 Elite" if this goes well another extension to it "SC2 Elite Ultra"
SC2 showed us that balancing is a hamster wheel, and SC1 proved balance only has to be on paper, with playes occasionally flipping it in ways thought unwise o impossible. But yeah, 30+ races means there will be extremes where one race has a much harder time fighting the other while doing fine against anyone else, and vice versa.
Mixing casts is actually a good idea, more can be covered and the video has more spice to it, not to mention variety.
