I have never played StarCraft and probably never will. I wouldn't even know how to build a Thor. All I know is I like seeing it built in the opponent's main base.
@@GameDogLeader21 it's a steep learning curve, seeing Marc troll 'high' level players is much more fun. Starting out is similar to suffering the Thermy defeat. You barely understand what just happened. Campaign could be fun, though.
I've heard a saying; "the world's greatest swordsman doesn't fear the second best, he fears the worst because he has no idea what the idiot will do" which kind of crystallizes these things. The opponent is already well prepared for anything smart so doing something slightly stupid is going to throw them off balance and give you the edge.

Eh.. that's not really true though. I mean, if you've watched him play vs. Serral for instance, Serral absolutely destroys him when he tries goofy builds and it isn't even close. This isn't a case of catching players better than he is off guard and beating them because of an unconventional strategy - this is beating players that are way way worse than he is in spite of using a weak strategy, and he would've had a much easier time beating them if he had played standard.

The thing he doesn't show is his winrate with these strategies. If the strategy has a 33% winrate, it's just not a strategy that you would ever take to a tournament. And it wouldn't surprise me if some of these builds were lower than 33%.

I love how pros and gms acknowledge their losses as learning opportunities and say things and so congratulate their opponents on wins. It’s wholesomeness born of what is required to achieve their greatness.
You know how there's this mass overseer & changelings to cover for roach hydra lurkers strat that's been making the rounds? Do it with barracks, mules and mech. A large enough barracks cloud over a deep enough siege line can stall amove'd units with anti-air attacks, and if you can't see the tanks, abducts/blinding cloud is a lot harder, even if the rax can't be targeted by spells like overseers can.
Me looking at the screen, wondering what the world has come to, the unstoppable marching of time that is slowly guiding us all towards an inevitable death... After being tank rushed in my main, while I'm doing a one base all-in...

It also reminded me of GSL match between Cure and herO, last GSL before they nerfed mines. Cure built factory on hero's third, flew it to the corner of his base and started producing mines
Notice how most these cheese were vs toss. Terrans be like, hell yeah thatd how we do it! *getting canon rushed once* Gather the council...time to nerf toss....cant tolerate lactose... That being said, thats one of best SC ive seen content wise. Amongts the units diversified, hidden based and all the creativity, was really refreshing games to watch. Love to see those units used fully and not just 1 of them if any along with the standard meta builds. Very fun!! Wanna see this from other races too! Awesome video brother!

I told people many times that SC2 so drowned in meta and same strats that opponents can't counter different approaches. I was called an idiot. But there is dude that makes stuff that funny to look at and is working. 👍
1:14:45 kinda sad the starport had to leave... but there was still no creep, most likely no vision, and the opponent definitely wouldn't have looked for it in the same spot again... could have been enough to fly out of vision for a few seconds and return. the spot where it did land should have been a worse place to hide, tbh :D
I feel like these kind of games just give all their taste to SC2. Like, remember it's a game... And this massively helps! This is also when the best players are actually put to the test. We see their adaptation capacities and decisionmaking put to the test as hard as it can be.
it's a bit like elephants and infantry taking up the same space in AoE. 4 elephants, 4 people: same thing! Medivac carries 2 tanks (60 tons each, according to lore), 8 peoples, but no thor ;)
at least the thor could be too tall to fit - though it could perhaps just crouch, or lie down. I doubt it is as wide as 2 freaking siege tanks! Which could fit in sieged for a while too...
Watching this I couldn't help but think that it would be fun to see you do something like that, but instead of in the enemy base, spreading production structures all over the map.😂
The fact that you can build literally any and every unit in the opponents main base and win as Terran leads me to believe we need to nerf Toss.

Sure the build orders may be generally optimal, but there's a battlecruiser in your base and it's not yours.
