I am the same as you. I'm in my mid 30s and I have never really been into comics until Rippaverse. It really has me jumping head first into backing other projects and even going to my local comic shop and starting to read/collect back issues of older comics. This is on top of the fact, I collect/read manga, as well.
It was a really fun comic to read I'm looking forward when Eric releases a Validan comicbook. I heard he's also a character is not from Earth but he seems to have a strong Scandinavian descent look.
Lookin fwd to reading this. Gotta check if my copy arrived. Despite the detractors , Yaira is easily one of the best new character designs of the past 5 or 10 years. Hands down. Hopefully the story is worthy, or at least solid - - which it sounds like it is. . (They could have easily made $3M+ if not for that unfortunate abomination of a Live Action trailer. Sorry guys, in case they read this. There's no excusing that. But Yaira's strong enough to get past it).
@@firstamericanmanga6827 The commenter above said that Yaira had "one of the best new character _designs_ " not that she was "one of the best new characters." There is a difference between a costume design and characterization.
Minute 1: 10 "I'm going to say it's a brand new character. We really haven't met her (Yaira) yet until this book." --Yaira #1 is Yaira's fourth appearance. The fact that she had no real characterization until this issue is a massive failure on Eric July's part. Minute 1: 49 "The Soska sisters put a lot into the story. They kicked it off big. " -- From your review, if Yaira really becomes a well known, important character in comic books and pop culture, the Soska sisters should get the credit. Pity they are just work-for-hire writers on this book with no ownership of the character.
My favourite review so far.
yeah, this was solid.
Great review! I'm about to get my copy soon! I would love to see you do a follow up spoiler review, once everyone gets their books!
I'm catching up on Isom and then Alphacore. 😁
Very well spoken sir!
Great review, thank you very much

-- So you are a detractor, too? Welcome to the club.
Nah, just Fair. Not just following what some washed up comic pro says. b/c he's at odds with the FNT crew.

It's terrible. I don't understand why so many are lying.
