Does refraining from sinning stop it? John 9:3 and John 5: 14 seem to say both are true. Is this a contradiction? 3. 43:17 {Casting Pearls before Swine} In what ways or in what situations might Matthew 7:6 be applicable today? 4. 49:24 {Was David Conceived in Adultery?} In Psalm 51:5, David says that in sin his mother conceived him. Is he saying that he has been in sin since his conception, or that his mother was in sin when she conceived him? Was David born in adultery? 5. 55:26 {Is Calvinism Heresy?} Why isn’t Calvinism more strongly condemned among non-Calvinists? The doctrine essentially teaches that God will punish people for something completely out of their control, which makes God seem unjust. 6. 1:02:35 {Is God Prideful?} Is God prideful? If our purpose in life is to glorify God, does that mean we were created only to praise Him? I know He is worthy of praise, but was He seeking praise by creating us? 7. 1:05:49 {Bible Typography} How important is Bible typography? For example, the way the KJV arranges paragraphs makes context harder to understand than in the ESV. 8. 1:10:12 {Standing With Israel?} With all of the tensions and things going on over in Israel, how should we be responding to those we’re surrounded by who hate Israel? They don’t seem to understand why we stand with Israel. 9. 1:13:56 {Was Simon Always “Peter”?} Catholics always say Jesus changed Simon’s name to Peter. However, previous verses (Matthew 16: 16, John 21: 15, Matthew 4: 18, and Luke 5:8) refer to him as Simon Peter. Jesus says, “You are Peter…” not “From now on, you are Peter.” Was Simon always known as Peter? 10. 1:20:35 {Adam - “Leave & Cleave”?} How do you interpret Genesis 2: 24? How could Adam come with such a statement, since he had no earthly mother or father?

Obviously he doesn't understand the Great commission why would Jesus say go into all the world and make disciples if "all paths lead to the same God!?"
My agnostic daughter, who has recently seemed to be seeking Truth, sent that video to me yesterday afternoon. After praying and asking for help from the Holy Spirit, I sent her this simply worded response: I put my faith in what Jesus says: “Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth and the life. No man comes to the Father except through me.” John 14:6
I am CATHOLIC and this is the 2nd time Pope Francis is shaking my faith to him. Is he still have a sound mind to say that all faith goes to the path to God. How about Islam who does not recognize that Jesus is not a Son of God and God, never crucified and never Risen from the dead. This teaching is the exact opposite of what we are taught directly from the apostles. Another is Hinduism, Buddhism and other faith except Judaism. Is Pope Francis trying to appease other faith? This is dangerous.
@@Hcm0626 that’s where you are going wrong, you’re Faith should be in God, not man. The Pope is a man and therefore fallible in his fallen nature.
When I was a kid there was a question that was used to say something was clearly true: "Is the Pope Catholic?" But clearly the important question is: "Is this Pope a Christian?"
Dear Mike, I am a 26-year-old woman and I live in Turkiye. Although my family is not religious and i didnt grow up believing in a religion either, I grew up with Islamic culture because of the country i am from. I only saw the aggressive side of religion all the time and this drove me away from God. When I first tried to learn about the Christianity i was a teen and I was constantly told that the Bible was more aggressive than the Quran, that it did not value women and all that stuff. I had couple christian friends too later on, but they were progressive christians and you can probably guess how they described Christianity to me more or less, so I've always been prejudiced against this religion. I ended up getting caught up in the new age movement at the very early age, i mean astrology, tarot and meditation all of that stuff. But I believe that engaging in such practices took my life to a worse point, I was depressed all the time and i was feeling emptiness in my heart, and that almost ended my life at one point. Ive been through harsh times and none of that helped me. And I believe I have been disturbed many times by evil spirits too. I have been watching your and wise disciple's videos for the last month and you have shown me that Christianity is not as it is portrayed in the media. I have also seen that people around me have a very wrong understanding of the Bible, realizing that started to hurt me. Now, I am reading the bible everyday and it heals my soul. I'm not exaggerating when i say I haven't felt like this in a long time. I don't know if you'll see this comment but I just wanted to thank you for bringing the truth to me, you are helping me to change my life.
I’m so proud of you and so happy for you! I live in the US but I had a very similar experience falling into “new age Christianity” - I didn’t even know that’s what it was. Reading the Bible is the best defense we have against the lies and that’s why it’s so important for progressive Christian’s to lie about it or remove its authority, even when they probably have not read it themselves. They, like us are just repeating what they have heard and everyone leads everyone else astray. The Bible and Mike winger when I need help understanding a passage has changed my life as well. I realize now why people want to share the good news with others. It breaks my heart that people are still being lied to and I want to share the truth with them. I’m glad you found your way, I know it’s difficult. God bless you.
I have added you to my prayer list. In the book of Hebrews, we have a wonderful promise: "And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to Him must believe that he exists and that He rewards those who earnestly seek Him." Hebrews 11.6 God is not hiding from us, we simply have to believe that He exists and that if we earnestly seek Him, that is, if we seek Him on HIS terms and not our own, we will find Him. Because of our sin, we aren't able to do that, so God gives us another wonderful promise: that He will first love us so that we can learn to love Him: "There is no fear in love, but perfect love drives out fear, because fear involves punishment. The one who fears has not been perfected in love. We love because He first loved us." I John 4.19 May God bless you and help you to know the full and wonderful truth of these words of God: "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son. This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but people loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that their deeds will be exposed. But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what they have done has been done in the sight of God." John 3.16-21 With all of my love and encouragement.
Hallelujah! I hope you become our sister! Regardless of what may come our family is more than happy to grow and have you among us. Plus, there is great rejoicing in heaven when someone is saved. I'm sure the angels would like the excuse to let their hair down lol.
Amazing response. I am praying for you to grow in the grace of God. If you seek God with all your heart you will find him through his son, Jesus Christ. Blessings on your life.

Jesus specifically asked the Father to let the cup pass if there were another way. If there were any other way, then Jesus would not have been crucified. How dare he diminish the sacrifice of our Lord.
Of course there could have been another way. Your god decided what a sin was, what the punishment was and how to avoid the punishment. He could have just as easily made salvation the outcome of a game of dominos. He is an omni god.
@@kevinkelly2162 This is not true. The bible states without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness, there was no other way. Also, God did not decide what is and is not a sin. A sin is anything that does not align with the nature of God. Righteousness is what does align with the nature of God, which is everything that is good.

Other than that, there's no limit to how wrong he can be. He's just a man, a sinner. He's not a Prophet, and the RCC has never taught that he speaks for God. But God did give him the authority to head the dissemination of God's truth, even though he does so imperfectly, like all other teachers. Take care to not build a straw man around Papal Infallibility
Matthew 7:13 comes to mind here… “Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it”.

@catholictruth102 Spoken like a true Catholic. Yeshua's sacrifice satisfied everything and when we call upon His name for remission of sins then we have eternal life. Hebrews 10:14-19 tells us everything we need to know. Jesus blood justifies us and our works sanctify us.
@catholictruth102 respectfully, that is not what James 2 is saying. Read it in context. Paul goes on to say’ “show me your faith apart from works and I will show you my faith THROUGH my works.” He is saying that good works naturally follow genuine faith, but time and time again Paul has sufficiently stated that we are saved by FAITH, NOT BY WORKS, so that no man may boast.
@catholictruth102 Give me examples of the entire gospels giving commands of Christ to be followed for salvation. James 2:26 says Faith without works is dead. The entire chapter 2, James is speaking to Christians about works and when he ends this what he is saying Christians if you're saved you will have works . Ephesians 2:10 We are His workmanship THROUGH Christ Jesus FOR good works that GOD sets aside ahead of time for us to walk in. We come to Christ through the blood , then we have works that God gives us. Romans 4:1,2 What shall we say about Abraham our forefather and what he has found in the flesh? For if he were justified by WORKS then he would something to boast about BUT NOT BEFORE GOD!!!! This is the same Paul that wrote Philippians 2:12 Christians workout your salvation with fear and trembling. So did he contradict himself? NO he did not! The word workout is Katergozomai in Greek and it does not mean work ON your salvation, it means bring to a conclusion. Which is exactly what James is referring to, if you're a Christian then the next step is having good works. Last but not least Yeshua in the gospels talking to Nicodemus , John 3:18 Whoever believes and trusts in Him is not CONDEMNED but the one who does not believe is condemned ALREADY because he has not believed in the NAME of the one and only Son of God. So are you going to believe Yeshua or men?
Hi Mike! As your Catholic viewer, I want to thank you SO MUCH for covering this topic with so much honesty, detail and charity at the same time. God knows we need voice like your right now. The Catholic Church is split on the issue. The progressive wing of it supports Pope Francis no matter what he says, bringing us all the way to denying Christ with this last statement, and the conservative wing has been highjacked by sedevacantists, who are pretty much rejecting Catholicism as a whole. I do not believe this is the choice we Catholics have. Not everything Pope Francis says and does is evil. But he NEEDS to be called out on this hyper-liberal sutff SO MUCH as well. And who would've thought that people like you, protestants looking at us from the side, would be such a reasonable voice in all of this. You are a blessings for us. Perhaps it's voices like yours that will finally bring about the reform of our Church that we so desperately need. If just 1% of Catholics were neither hyper-focusing on tradition so much nor following the liberal flow of the world, but cherished the Bible half as much as you do... we'd be a far better Church.
I love your comment. I’m non-sectarian/denominational and love the Lord Jesus, but I’d be considered Protestant, so it’s great to have objective commentary shared from someone in the Catholic church. If I may ask, does the error of the Pope’s statements give you any concern surrounding the infallibility of the Catholic church’s overall judgments? If yes, in what way? If no, why not? I don’t want to sway you in any direction, I just want to know what the reasoning is for you, personally. As an outside observer, the church choosing a man to represent Christ in such a profound way who then (whether in “official” capacity or not) speaks a grave heresy while in his position would really make me question its authority over the entire body of believers. But I’d love to know your thoughts on this! (No pressure to answer, of course!)
@@LetTalesBeTold *"If I may ask, does the error of the Pope’s statements give you any concern surrounding the infallibility of the Catholic church’s overall judgments?"* Let me answer that in two ways. First, my own perspective, and then, the broadly how most Catholics think. Personally, I don't think it matters that much. Infallible... what does that even mean? We Catholics had a ton of publically, magisterially taught doctrines revoked and revised over the centuries. Even within the last 100 years, Catholic Church changed so much in nearly everything that it's officially teaching and doing, that 99% of modern Catholic would be basically considered protestants a century ago. I know Catholic theologians love to praise and preach how our grand Church supposedly never changes etc etc, but the reality is, teachings change all the time, ESPECIALLY on the matter of faith and morals, which are supposed to be infallibly declared by the magisterium, apparently. Good example of that would be natural family planning, a contraception method that was considered gravely sinful before 1950s, and is today the very basis of all teachings of the Catholic Church on the matter of sex and contraception. The views on death penalty... the way we perceive other denominations... the way we believe we achieve salvation... our views on private reading of Scripture, and COUNTLESS more have made a literal, precise 180 in the last decades. In short, I am, and was for a long time, completely disillusioned when it comes to so-called infallibility of Catholic doctrine. Whenever I talk to theologians about it, they'd say "It simply means those old doctrines were never truly infallibly declared in the first place, the Church has misinterpreted them as such". Well, but if that's the case... then even if God does declare his decrees through our leaders here on Earth, there is simply no way for us to know about it and confirm it to a certainty. And if THAT is the case, then once again I'd ask - being infallible... what does that even mean? I've learned to discern every one of my practices myself as my asnwer to this. I read the Bible, I listen to both Catholic preachers and other Christians that I see are passionate for Christ and his Word, like Mike Winger, and I draw my own conclusions. This is my take on this. However, this is not how most Catholics approach this at all. I am an outlier, and by far at that. Most Catholics never really think very much about what they're taught or about Church infallibility, or any other dogmas. They just consume Catholic media and listen to their favorite Catholic preachers and take everything they say at face value, without going into Church documents, Church history, the Bible, what other denominations may wanna say about it, or anything else. They do not really care. You must understand, most Catholics aren't actually believers in anything particular. They go to Church out of habit and they adjust to the practices that their pastors instruct them to perform without thinking much about them. So, when Pope Francis says something like this... most just go along. Those passionate to read into Church documents more, like I mentioned in my previous comment, were highjacked by the radical traditionalists a while ago. This is why Pope's current behavior is so devastating in my eyes. Our Church needs a strong, biblical reform, not this massive split that is about to happen. It's sad to watch.
Yup! And besides. ..if it was just bad communication skills, he'd seek/accept help from a skilled orator & follow with the public to apologize & say what he MEANT to say.
How does a "bad communicator" rise through the ranks of the church all the way to the highest level? Effective communication, you would think, should be one of the top qualifications of being even the lowest of priests.
I think he's a deliberately bad communicator. I guarantee he would affirm Jesus is the only way to salvation if asked, but he's so swayed by socialism that he muddles that as much as he can with hostile audiences
@@eli-bt4heBecause many of the cardinals and the Pope are socialists and bad communication can allow them to pander to socialists that don't like orthodoxy without actually changing church teaching
I appreciate your strong Biblical stance. I am a conservative Christian, a Lutheran. Your concerns about the pope are valid. Keep up the good work. It is by grace that we are saved. Faith in Christ and the vicarious satisfaction is an absolute. If good works contributes, then it becomes a question of how many then grace and faith get squeezed out as being unnecessary. We must stick as you do, only to what the scripture teaches.
Or he’s read all the catechism’s and anathema’s and he’s sticking with the altered version of the scriptures. The Catholic Church does not follow the Bible and modifies it at will. Because they believe they can. “Call no man on earth father.” All those priests are called father!
@@LoriDRBlake Jesus was speaking in hyperbole as He often did. Call no man father, call no man teacher. Unless you hate your father and mother and wife and children, you cannot follow Christ. Do you think Jesus wants us to hate our family? Do you think He wants us to reserve the words father and teacher only for God?
Catholicism has rewritten the Bible for their purposes 😔, they made things ‘anathema’, cursed, that didn’t go along with their game plan. So, since the pope basically thinks he’s god on earth, Jesus incarnate, they take whatever liberties with the word that they chose.
This pope is a liberal. That's really all you need to know. Liberals cannot abide the thought of being associated with those old boring Bible thumpers out in the Heartland, so they bend their theology into whatever intellectual pretzel is necessary to enable them to look down on those folks...That's how you wind up with a pope who says that baby killing is the moral equivalent to controlling your border.

It doesn't help that the vast majority of seminaries worldwide have been teaching 'deconstruction' and liberal politics for decades. Some of these priests are also just completely ignorant of the word because of that.
@@anon7222 Francis made sure to rid his surrounding of all truthful Christians. Look up what became of Gänswein, the former Pope's most trusted cardinal or bishop Wölki. My conversations with Catholics all go the same. Claims that they are the only ones who interpret the Bible correctly, then citing verses that support their theology that have no relevancy, then they fall back to citing "tradition", that is more important than the Bible and only the Catholic church knows it. Every time.
From my reading of online Catholic comments, I notice that a lot of Catholics have the habit of taking Bible verses out of context to support their claims. I found the same problem with RCC’s own catechism, cherry picking verses, which is very misleading and dangerous. Sadly RCC relies a lot on their catechism to validate their doctrines/dogmas.

As a Catholic myself, I would pose a question: why would God allow His Church to falsely worship for over 1500 years until the Protestant Reformation came along? If what we are worshipping is just a piece of bread (John and 1 Corinthians say it's the body and blood of Jesus), why would God allow us to continue for so long? We saw how quickly He corrected and punished idolatry in the Old Testament, why would He change? Furthermore, we must have trust in Jesus' words. He told us that the gates of hell would not prevail against His Church (which was understood for all of Christian history to be an institution, not a loose amalgamation of denominations), so why would you split from what Jesus Himself made, which carries His personal guarantee?
What I don’t understand about the “all paths” types of people like the Pope and Oprah is, why are you a Christian or a Catholic if it doesn’t matter what you believe in the end? Why should anyone be a Catholic and listen to the Pope if all paths are equal to God? What do these people say about all the contradictory things that are said between different religions? Jesus says He is the only way to God but another religion like Hinduism says there are many gods/goddesses, so which one is right? They both can’t be right. The only one who relishes in confusion like this is Satan. And Jesus also said “if you’re not with Me, you’re against Me.” What does that mean in the concept of “all paths”?
as a catholic, people are often confused about our relationship to him. we do not believe that everything said by the pope is true, but papal infallibility only applies when certain conditions are met. mainly when the pope is acting as a supreme teacher to the whole church or when doctrine is called into question. When this is not the case, he is simply a bishop serving in the office of pope. So many catholics like myself dont claim the liberal statements made by the pope in his freetime

One thing I thought after I found out, was that we shouldn't try to make the Lord's judgement. The Lord will judge. We can have our opinions and learn from these scenarios to grow in our faith, but the Lord will be the final judge on the impacts of all situations.
The problem is ignorance of the other "Roads" to God. If you study and research the religions that were represented during Pope's talk with those folks, you will be shocked and surprised at their actual teachings. Islam is the perfect example. They tell you that they believe in the same God as Christians but if you actually study their writings, it's b.s.
As a Christian theology major, you Bible thumpers make me laugh. You’re all abrahamic religions, and the earliest version of syrio- Christianity resembles Islam way more than the 1000+ other sects in Christianity. 😂
Thank you for this video Mike. I always appreciate your thoughtful and very biblical responses to whats going on in the church and the world. Your meekness and humility in the way you defend your view is admirable and something I pray for in my own life. Keep preaching the word brother! …your “Calvinist”sister in Christ. ;-)
Please be careful with this verse / statement, as it can lead to universalism where everyone ends up in heaven, which is plainly unbiblical. This verse comes from revelation at the great white throne judgement, and everyone acknowledging Jesus as Lord is the obvious truth at that time. However they will not be saved by that - as there is no faith involved. (they are already dead anyway - so subject to judgement). I hope that makes sense :-)
@@richardmulligan7536Please reread what they wrote. They clearly stated that everyone will find out about God but not all will be saved. There was no universalism in the comment, just the opposite. They were being ironic in the first few words.
Since the fall of Adam and Eve, we are born in sin/with a sinful nature. That's why we need to repent, believe in God the Father through His son Jesus Christ; and through His Holy Spirit, grow and change into a mature Christian.
There is one path to God. The narrow path which is explained throughout the bible ( Matthew 17: 13-14). There is only one God and it is through christ Jesus that we have salvation ( John 3-16).
On Judgement Day, God will not ask "did you follow the narrow way?" God will ask, "When I was hungry, did you feed me? When I was thirsty, did you give me drink? When I was a stranger, aka, illegal immigrant, did you take me in? When I was naked, did you cloth me? When I was sick, did you visit me? When I was in prison, did you come to me? In as much as you have done it for the least of these my Brethren, you have done it onto me." Matthew 25:31-46.
I was born of a fallen away Catholic mother and a very anti-Catholic father. Became an atheist at 12. After college, at home, had a strong sense of God’s presence, which I did not want. I asked, how long have you been there? There were no words, but I got the strong sense of “always”. I began to study Scripture and religion, looking for a way out. But even studying the far east, I found shards of truth that sent me back to Christianity. I finally accepted an invitation to a Catholic Church, figuring “what could it hurt?” The Presence I had met before was clearly there, clearly “always”. I’ve been Catholic since, for 44 years. Eastern Catholic now (think Orthodox in communion with Rome). I agree that the current Pope has been very controversial, not in a good way, and I’m glad I’m in communion with my Eastern Patriarch, who is conservative and not heretical, who is the one who has to worry about being in communion with the Pope. I pray for both of them, and hope for conversions among the clear heretics who plague us all.
Thank you for sharing with love, patients and humility. Jesus is our high priest and king. I have been studying the east vs west , Orthodox vs Catholic. I too began to pray that those who confess with their mouth and believe in the hearts that Jesus is king of kings and Lord of lords would be in unity and are truly saved. These schisms are heart breaking. When I read the Orthodox pray constantly for the Catholics and Protestants to come together in Christ and unity and fidelity, it made me realize Christ our Lord has his people branched out in his name serving him. Many of our Catholic brethren disagree and dislike the Pope, and respectfully are ignoring him. Many are indeed praying and seeking the Lord Jesus and living it out. I get cringe thinking here we go, another well meaning protester of faith judging what he doesn't understand from a 500 year old schism. May our Lord unit us in Unity in Christ Jesus and make the foundations and traditions we follow biblically sound and based on the apostolic and niceanes creeds and I pray this video is not divisive. If one believes in their and cobfesses with their mouth Jesus is Lord, he or she will be saved, after that we need a community of like mined faithful believers to live and walk and serve with in unity and love. We can not be an island of one. Again ,thank you.
Mike, I just wanted to thank you hugely for your words on calvinism. As a calvinist, I am so thankful for your respect, and I respect your stance as well.
Great stream. Thanks for answering my question on typography Pastor Mike! Wish I could have asked more than the 200 character limit. But I was actually recommended recently to use a readers edition of the Bible which has no verses or chapters. So hopefully that should make it easier like you said. Love that you also recommended that I use multiple translations. That's something I have tried to start doing more.
This is the church that burned heretics at the stake, suppressed the use of Bible translations, celebrated the massacre of the Huguenots, launched crusades against the Albigenses and Waldenses, and ordered inquisitions.
Francis had an amazing opportunity to lift up the name of Jesus, God the Son. He chose not to do so. He is the leader of 1.2 billion Catholics. 1.2 billion Catholics are chosing to follow this man, as their pope/leader. No, God is not the leader of the Roman Catholic Church. I'm so glad God took me out of that church...He is good!!
Catholics are Christians. We are able to discern the truth. We know the pope is wrong. I don't follow him if I think he's wrong. He is just a man. Men sin.
Rev 18:4 And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, *Come out of her, my people*, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues. Catholic Church is the mystery Babylon
Mike, Thank you your channel! I am so glad to have found it. Your insight is amazing, helps us to think more & to delve deeper into the Word. I can't stop watching your videos because of the thought process you are trying to help us with. Very grateful. God bless this ministry.
no.. you lived separated from Him so you will pass into the next separated from Him... In John 12:48, Jesus says, “There is a judge for the one who rejects me and does not accept my words; the very words I have spoken will condemn them at the last day.” In this view, their rejection of God results in an inevitable separation, which may not involve the same direct encounter as for believers.
I was raised catholic but I’m now born again Christian for Jesus Christ. Anyway what really bugs me is people idol worship images like so called saints and Virgin Mary who’s she is not virgin she also had more children but was a virgin with Jesus who is God. Especially the Hispanic community they idol worship and they deny which is not true . See Psalm 135 :18 18 And those who make idols are just like them, as are all who trust in them.
We Catholics don’t idol worship, you never understood the doctrine of you think they do. God used images in the Old Testament for Hebrew worship, this is biblical iconagraphy. No catholic believe the statue is listening to them, they only believe it represents a saint or Jesus
It's sad that you decided you knew more than 1500 years of Christians including the likes of Augustine and Aquinas. Catholics have explained the theology on iconography and Mariology for many centuries. It's not like they were ignorant of Psalm 135
They say they don’t worship saints and mary but theirs actions says so different. Plus its unbiblical to pray to dead people (physically dead) because Bible says there is no connection between dead and alive people (on earth). All who talks to dead is talking to demons who comes in likeness of deceased people.
I'm a RC. I thought your comments regarding P. Francis and Catholicism were totally fair and better than 98% accurate. Well done. Yu have my respect, sir.
*Everyone can see Roman religion is a man made religion. Only RCs could not. 95% of RC doctrines and 95% of RC clergies did not come from God's Word. Why would a true religion have such statistics? Lucy has b - ded the eyes of RCs; so they could not C.* 1. Catholics say Mary was forever virgin. Yet Bible says Jesus had brothers and sisters. Mary was not perpetually virgin. Mk 6:3, Mat 13:55, Mat 27:56, Mar 6:3, Mar 15:40, Mar 15:47. 2. Catholics say clergies must be celibate. Yet BIBLE says Peter (supposed R Church first leader) had mother in law. Bible says celibacy is not a qualification for clergies. Mat 8:14-15, Mar 1:30-31, Luk 4:38-39. 3. Catholics say Mary was sinless. But Bible says Mary offered a sinner's offering. She was a sinner. Bible says Mary needed a Saviour. Lk 2:23-24, Lev 12:6-8, Rom 3:10. 4. Catholics say confess to R priests in a box. BIBLE says nothing about confessing to priests in a box. Bible says confess to God only. 1 John 1:9, Mat 6, Romans 10:9-10. 5. Catholics say drink of the physical blood of Jesus. Yet OT and NT both say do not drink blood. Acts 15, Lev 7:26. 6. Catholics say pray to passed on Mary and "saints". Yet Bible says do not contact the dead. NT Church did not record a single case of NT believers asking passed on saints to pray for them. Deut 18:11, Isaiah 8:19. 7. Catholics make and bow down to statues. Bible says do not bow down to graven images (statues). Deut 4, Exo 20:4-5. 8. Catholics sprinkles “holy water”. But NT Church of the Bible mentioned nothing about “holy water”. There was no record of any Apostles sprinkling “holy water” on believers. Catholics claimed “holy water” came from OT. Yet Num 5:17 says “holy water” was water used to test adulterous women in OT temple. Hardly the same. Those were for Old Covenant Jews. Not New Testament Christians. 9. Catholics say Peter was pope - bishop of all bishops. Yet Bible says Peter was just a leader of the Jerusalem Church. Bible says nothing of the office of bishop of bishops. Gal 2:9, Mat 16:18. 10. Catholics say there is a seat of Peter. Yet BIBLE says nothing about it. Jesus said “not to lord over others”. 11. Catholics has clergy priesthood. Bible says clergy priesthood was done away with in New Testament. There is no clergy priesthood in NT. Heb 7:27, 9:12, 10:10. 12. Catholics preaches Works Salvation (faith + good works + partake R sacraments + submit to R pontiff + be in R Church + devote to Mary = to be saved). Yet Bible says “believe in Jesus to be saved”. Bible says Works Salvation is cursed. Gal 1:8-9. Acts 16:30-31, John 3:16, Romans 10:9-10. 13. Catholics says they must do Penance to atone for their sins. Yet Bible says repent, confess and sins will be forgiven. Catholic Bible changes the word “repentance” in NT into “penance”. Original Greek NT does not use or mean the word penance. Penance = work to atone for sins. Repentance = change of heart. 1 John 1:9, Mat 6. 14. Catholics say Mary went straight to heaven without dying. Yet Bible says nothing about it. 15. Catholics say Islam and Christianity have the same God. Yet Islam doesn't believe in death and resurrection of Jesus and Trinity.
@@nancytaylor7865 that is not what Catholicism says ... but if that justifies your decision for leaving the church .... that was the same argument of the farisees for not following jesus
Roman Catholicism IS NOT Biblical Christianity, there is no unity of religions. Jesus is the ONLY way!!!! It's time as Christians to get a spine and stand up for Jesus, it's going to get bad!!!
Thank you for giving me an answer to pearls and swine. Then I can have a good conscience about not sharing the gospel further to certain people. My good and careful intentions were met with something compared to a serious slap in the face.
As a Catholic I agree the Pope has said many things that are Not Biblical. People think Catholics just follow the Pope, but that's not true, majority of us follow Christ. Jesus " no one goes to the Father but through me!"
Proverbs 14:12 There is a way that seems right unto a man but the end thereof is death. There is only one way to the Father and that way is through Jesus Christ. John 14:6 Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
@@dvdortiz9031 no, the inquisition was horribly evil. Just another reason to be a Protestant. The Bible tells us how to deal with people with wrong beliefs, the inquisition is not what it told us to do.
Your dad respects people who pray to saints and worship a demon called the queen of heaven (aka Mother Mary)? Read Jeremiah 7 and 44 please it explains very well how God feels about people who worship false gods named the queen of heaven.
John Paul the second said virtually the same thing. He said you don’t need to believe in Jesus to go to heaven. Many (10 or 20.) of the past popes were some of the most evil people in history… Even in Catholic records. They are called “the bad Popes” research it. Francis is just one of the group.
@@rebornasdavid I'm a protestant, but what in the...Mary is a demon? This is a ridiculous response. You really need to evaluate your approach. You aren't going to be very winsome, especially if you can't even have dignity for the otherside let alone respect.
I understand your logic. I feel similarly. I also *feel* the essence of what the Pope is saying… And also, what was he supposed to say? I think what he said is making the whole world conversate, and I LOVE that. Now is a time where we as a people need to evaluate the values we can agree upon for the sake of humanity. Thank you for this conversation ❤
The more I look at denominations, the more I keep seeing the churches Paul wrote letters too. One denomination focuses so much on one thing to the point of being in error. One is too lax. One is too legalistic. I can’t be the only one seeing that connection.
@@cahillrebelThe difference is that the churches Paul wrote to were not denominations but local authorities under a unified leadership The problem with Protestantism is that the Presbyterians and Lutherans and Methodists (etc.) have no shared church authority to create unity and condemn heresy
@@sivad1025huh? Local authorities under a unified leadership? Please tell me a certain "church father" said 'the Bishop of Rome', but the Bible authors forgot to say that.
@kenid4144 You realize almost all of the New Testament was written before Peter and Paul died in Rome, right? And yes, St. Ireneaus, the disciples of St. Polycarp who was a disciple of the Apostle John testified to Rome's preeminent authority because of Peter and Paul's deaths there. Do you think the Apostle John was completely incompetent such that his successors immediately started teaching grave heresy?
@@sivad1025 Yes, exactly! Just because Peter and Paul died in Rome, that automatically made the Bishop of Rome the "unified leadership". And just because a disciple of a disciple of a disciple of a disciple of a disciple said so, then it must be true....even though you can't provide any hint from the Bible that the "unified leadership" was in Rome. Oh wait, wasn't there a Council in Jerusalem? Did the unified leadership in Rome travel down to Jerusalem to lord it over all the local authorities? Would you say the Holy Spirit didn't inspire the Bible authors to mention the HIGHLY important office of the Bishop of Rome?? Ask yourself a sincere question: If Paul wrote to churches in different locations and those churches had a unified leadership under a certain Bishop of Rome, how come Paul never acknowledged such Bishop authority in his epistles. How come we have to look for what a 3rd generation disciple said to confirm that Rome was the pontifical seat or deduce that because Peter and Paul died in Rome, so the chief seat must/should be in Rome? Sounds like a frantic, reverse logic attempt to use anything you can find to justify a tradition invented by some uncertain person at some uncertain time.
I'm italian (I'm a Christian - born again, not a catholic anymore) and the pope spoke italian. This pope has no clue of what the gospel is and they tried to cover up his statements blatantly. All my family unfortunately are still catholic and most of the italian religious population are following this inclusive approach of the pope. What shocks me is that of Jesus wasnt so exclusive why on earth was he killed? Plus, doing evangelism regularly it's alwaystthe case that the reactions are harsh, not nice with clappings and happy endings. The apostolic message and the gospel in general is almost always met with resistance and rejection because it is exclusive and it judges the person for their sins!
@@Sentinal6405 my parents believe that the gospel is to love your neighbour and God. That's the law, not the gospel, biblically. The unfortunate position is having no assurance of salvation, uncertainty of how many millions of years to be burning in purgatory for perhaps one day see God, plus relying on revelations from dead people at the cemetery. The Lord was so kind to provide us His Word, to save the thief on the cross not because of the thief religious attendance to sacraments or rituals or human merits, but by recognizing His Lorship by faith and repenting (not doing penance). The catholic church teaches that good people get to heaven, while the bible teaches that bad people (because all people are depraved) can get to heaven, by what Jesus did sufficiently, not by what human beings do. Human being contribute to their own salvation only with their sin, so negatively. They contribute positively only to their damnation. But thanks be to God who provided a sacrificial atonement of full penal substitution to cleanse all sin for those who repent and believe, being justified by faith have peace with God the Father for His glory through Christ alone, only mediator between God and man, who doesnt share any comediatrix power with anyone else.

That is nonsense going to cemeteries asking the dead to intercede, Do you know a Lie like that condemns your soul?? The martyrs shed their blood for over two millennia to preserve the Sacraments which Protestants say are not necessary. There is No SALVATION outside of the Apostolic Churches
@@Sentinal6405 no. Thats the misunderstanding. The Law is the commandments of God, that we cannot keep. And according to Roman's 7 the Law (the commandments that are summarized in love neighbour and love God) was not given to save us, but to show us our sinfulness. We cannot keep Jesus commandments, that's the reason why he needed to die as a substitute for us. We deserve death because we cant obey perfectly His law. Because none of us could keep Jesus commands He came to save us from the penalty of sin (falling short). You have not read the definition of the gospel (good news in original greek) which is given in 1 Corinthians 15. That's where the gospel (not the book) is summarized. Its not good news to know that we need to keep the commandments to be saved. It is instead good news that despite us failing to obey the commandments Jesus was killed, was buried and resurrected so that our penalty that we cannot pay could be paid by him and we could go free, not because we are or can be good, but despite our depravity he is kind, rich in mercy and God provided a saviour. The catholic church does not teach that the sacrifice of christ is sufficient. 2 Corinthians 5:21 - the one who knew no sin was made sin for us so we may become the righteousness of God. This verse summarises the penal substitutionary atonement upon which salvation is secured. The catholic church denies this basic truth and teaches that eventually people need to save themselves by their good works, morals, sacraments...jesus death isnt enough for them. If that's true the sacrifice of Jesus was in vain (Paul says that in Galatians)
@@nicolachiodetto3336To say the commandments given by God to Moses were there merely to show our sinfulness because we were incapable of keeping them Is incorrect, they were given to us to obey Mark 10 : 18 1 COR 15 : 21. Well said at the beginning. Anybody that comes along preaching a different Gospel than that delivered by Christ and his apostles should not and can not be ignored especially when they are as influential as the Pope.
I left the Catholic Church years ago and have been saved 40 years ago. My mother passed in 1988 and my sister insisted we have a Catholic type service. The comment section under any Christian UA-cam video is a perfect example of being careful not to throw pearls before swine. They always have plenty of trolls just trying to start unproductive arguments with as many people as possible. Even this video has it's share of those types of comments.
"And being found in appearance as a man, He mumbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross. Therefore God also has highly exhaled Him and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father" Amen Phil2:8-11
I recall one of my early encounters with weird beliefs about salvation was an episode of Cheers. Carla Tortelli was excited that one of her kids was going into the priesthood, because in her mind, that was her free ticket into Heaven.
Why does the Catholic Church get to decide who is a saint? The pope is not the vicar of Christ because Christ is not dead. The pope is not the replacement for Peter because Peter was never Pope! The pope is not the continuation of Paul because Paul was merely a disciple of Christ like everyone else, spreading the good news of the Kingdom. In fact Paul told people not to follow him because he did not die for them, follow Christ who died for them! The Catholic papacy is the Antichrist who is teaching people to follow any and everyone except Christ! This is Antichrist!
Greetings, Mike! Thankyou for your spiritual and Biblical insight. Though this is my very first viewing, I am compelled to subscribe and learn more truths. I was born, baptized, and raised as Catholic, and have left due to spiritual awareness of these ever increasing inconsistencies and lack of following of Biblical truths. Even at my maturing age, I am still an infant in this journey, eyes wide open to my failures, and having had to separate from the noise of Religion, now am seeing the Light of Life, God through His son, Jesus, as my Lord and Savior, according to His word and promise. Again, thankyou, I will pray for your continued blessings in deciphering and sharing God's word, and for all Christians to stand by their faith.
In an effort to display love or to make Christianity more appealing, the Pope downplays the truth(Or he does not know). "You adulterous people! Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Therefore whoever wishes to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God. " (James 4:4)
As a Protestant listening to UA-cam I was starting to think it was a dirty word until hearing you for the first time just now ! I love your attitude, 'liberal' not as in woke, but just kind, reasonable and well informed, God bless you 🙏
Quick thought on Q8: Right after the October 7 attacks, may Christians took sides on Israel vs. Gaza/Hamas. A couple wise Christians in my circle were quick to point toward God's warning to Laban in Genesis 31:22-24. On one hand, Israel remains the land and people of God's promise. On the other hand, it's a nation that's nearly a supermajority in being areligious or atheist, and thirty years ago it already had the political and social liberalism of present-day California. There's no obvious "correct" side to take, and since it is God's personal business, I don't have to invest in it.
@bufficliff8978 I disagree with nearly every tenant of islam... but what israel is doing is g3noc1de. Gods chosen people are those who put their faith in Christ. The modern israelite hates and detests Jesus. Christians didnt start doing the weird israelite worship until the scofield bible came out.
@@bufficliff8978I agree with you both. There is a clear aggressor, and it’s the one that owns all the land in that region save the tiny strip of land called Israel. However, I also don’t care to really pick a side to bat for. Primarily, because I believe there is an argument to be made that the Jewish people (who are largely atheistic and liberal as the original comment pointed out) may well be in the grips of the wrath of God as they so often have been throughout their history-and, as happened numerous times before, God is using violent pagans to punish them for their disbelief. I’m not saying I believe this wholesale, but it is a line of thought that’s grabbed my attention. God holds it in His hand. If they are to triumph, they will triumph, no matter how few friends they have standing beside them. If they are to be punished, they will be punished, and woe-betide any who stand with those against whom God’s wrath has been set.
there is an obvious right side. and its to be on God's side. has nothing to do with Israel vs whoever. stay right with God. its very clear throughout scripture we need to keep His commandments, statutes, judgements etc. and its very clear throughout leviticus and hebrews etc that it is the land that is holy. the unholy will be vomited out of the land, including Israel, if they do not keep God's commandments statutes judgements etc. this "nation", just because they call themselves "Israel" does not mean they are the promised people of Israel. in fact, all believers are grafted in and thus considered Israel. and through God's promised people there have always only remained a remnant who reconcile back to God, and now is no different. in fact Revelation numbers them that will be reconciled back to God and its only 144,000. that is the promised remnant. everyone else will be vomited out of the land
@tawheedcoopoosamy9329 As a Christian, and a child of God, I sincerely hope you'll discover what it means to be a child of God. Jesus said in John 15:15 "I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you." And in John 20:17 Jesus says after his resurrection, "Do not hold on to me, for I have not yet ascended to the Father. Go instead to my brothers and tell them, ‘I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.’” Why do you serve a God who enslaves you and not one who makes you his child?
@@tawheedcoopoosamy9329Jesus makes slaves of God into his children. That’s why I’m Christian and not Muslim. @@fiorini_mochachinoTo be fair, the Bible also refers to us as slaves to a certain extent. The difference is that we are also more than that. For the sake of charity, he likely means what we think of as far as being God’s slaves/servants (doulos, Gr. meaning slave) and would probably say it’s the order of creation for Muslims to be so, whereas it seems arrogant for Christians to claim sonship. That applies to an ever increasing number of churches of every denomination. But given the vast size and global reach of Catholicism makes it that much worse. The state of the Church, writ large, is horrific and getting worse every year.
Hey Mike, I can’t begin to explain how spiritually beneficial your ministry has been in my walk with Christ, a walk that has very surprisingly but thankfully reached Eastern Orthodoxy. Although you are right in so many criticisms of Roman Catholicism, I wanted to urge you to pause on many future critical statements until you’ve had a chance to really study and vet Eastern Orthodoxy. I think you’ll find some of the beliefs and practices of Roman Catholicism to actually be true and good, although the changes Catholicism has made the past 1,000 years has defected even their understanding and ways of explaining some of those beliefs and practices; ones that the whole Church held, East and West, from the very beginning up through the first 1,000-1,500 years of the Church. I think the Catholic Church is in error overall, but I have a much deeper respect for some doctrines and practices now that I know the earlier context, vs when I was a Protestant with an incorrect and shallower understanding. Just food for thought. God Bless!
I am a modified Calvinist, which I find fully supported by the Bible. God is not author of evil, He gives humans Free Will, the inclination of humans is rebelion, wicked from the womb, till the Holy Spirit Quickens (resurrects) the person. To God be ALL POWER, HONOR AND GLORY FOREVER.
I remember very well what the reasons were that I left the Catholic Church. The reasons were that you had to pay for everything except for the baptism itself (but for the baptismal candle). Also because it was encouraged to pray to the Saints and Mary instead of to God because if you prayed to God directly, it was an insult. People were advised against reading the Bible (at home) because if you went to church every week and went to confession once a year, that was enough to go to heaven. Very bizarre rules that have nothing to do with faith.
Good morning, Pastor Mike, and God bless you. Thank you for beautifully explaining the questions, #6. God is worthy of praise and to be held in the highest of councils.❤

4. 49:24 {Was David Conceived in Adultery?} In Psalm 51:5, David says that in sin his mother conceived him. Is he saying that he has been in sin since his conception, or that his mother was in sin when she conceived him? Was David born in adultery?

7. 1:05:49 {Bible Typography} How important is Bible typography?

I am CATHOLIC and this is the 2nd time Pope Francis is shaking my faith to him. Is he still have a sound mind to say that all faith goes to the path to God. How about Islam who does not recognize that Jesus is not a Son of God and God, never crucified and never Risen from the dead. This teaching is the exact opposite of what we are taught directly from the apostles. Another is Hinduism, Buddhism and other faith except Judaism. Is Pope Francis trying to appease other faith? Dear Mike,
I am a 26-year-old woman and I live in Turkiye.
God loves you
I have added you to my prayer list. In the book of Hebrews, we have a wonderful promise: "And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to Him must believe that he exists and that He rewards those who earnestly seek Him." Hebrews 11.6
God is not hiding from us, we simply have to believe that He exists and that if we earnestly seek Him, that is, if we seek Him on HIS terms and not our own, we will find Him. Because of our sin, we aren't able to do that, so God gives us another wonderful promise: that He will first love us so that we can learn to love Him: "There is no fear in love, but perfect love drives out fear, because fear involves punishment. The one who fears has not been perfected in love. We love because He first loved us." I John 4.19
May God bless you and help you to know the full and wonderful truth of these words of God: "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what they have done has been done in the sight of God." John 3.16-21
With all of my love and encouragement.

The entire chapter 2, James is speaking to Christians about works and when he ends this what he is saying
Christians if you're saved you will have works .
Last but not least Yeshua in the gospels talking to Nicodemus , John 3:18
Whoever believes and trusts in Him is not CONDEMNED but the one who does not believe is condemned ALREADY because he has not believed in the NAME of the one and only Son of God.
Why do you insist on remaining Catholic? Isn’t Jesus enough ? Run from this satanic cult!
We need a focus on christ n not look back n not get distracted
Ecumenical outreach is in question instead of sound doctrine…
@@LetTalesBeTold *"If I may ask, does the error of the Pope’s statements give you any concern surrounding the infallibility of the Catholic church’s overall judgments?"*
Let me answer that in two ways.
People keep saying that he's just a bad communicator. They say he's reaching out to them in an evangelistic manner. But this is still just heretical.

@@LoriDRBlake Jesus was speaking in hyperbole as He often did. Call no man father, call no man teacher. Unless you hate your father and mother and wife and children, you cannot follow Christ.

Every time.
From my reading of online Catholic comments, I notice that a lot of Catholics have the habit of taking Bible verses out of context to support their claims.

Please be careful with this verse / statement, as it can lead to universalism where everyone ends up in heaven, which is plainly unbiblical. This verse comes from revelation at the great white throne judgement, and everyone acknowledging Jesus as Lord is the obvious truth at that time.

Ask yourself a sincere question: If Paul wrote to churches in different locations and those churches had a unified leadership under a certain Bishop of Rome, how come Paul never acknowledged such Bishop authority in his epistles.
Jesus says, i am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the father (GOD) but by me. (Jesus Christ)
If by _"all paths lead to God"_ you mean _"all paths lead us to be judged by the one righteous God"_ then yes. But that's not what was meant...
This episode was so good. Your opinions on Calvinism were excellent.
So satanism is a path that leads to God? No. And that goes for religions that don’t even have a god to arrive at.
Th en how can you be a Christian? I woulg guess you either are not or need to read more bible.
There IS an obvious right side 🤷♀️
Ignorance of Islam is the only reason to be confused about who's the instigator and aggressor
He the Lord is the way the truth and the Life
Only way
When he said "We are all sons and daughters of God" he offended the Muslims. The Quran says we are slaves of Allah, nothing more.
As a muslim, Im a proud slave of Allah
That’s also why Jesus can’t just be a prophet since he is recorded multiple times saying that believers in him are God’s children, which would go against what the Quran says about true believers in God.
You had it right when you were citing Jesus.
@@Window4503 Thanks for the sincere response... May God All Mighty bless us and guide us all to the straight path and make us all worship Him in the way He deserves to be worshipped
I wonder how that translator felt if he actually realized that he was speaking such blatant heresy.
He’s teaching what people want to hear not what’s written in the Bible.
That sounds like regular Calvinism.
