  • Welcome to your little, safe space where you can learn chess and relax. Today I will teach you a chess secret that you can use to beat your dad and even your mom (I know, crazy right?).
    You can support the channel and help me make more videos on / asmrchess
    I learned this secret from the amazing Judit Polgar and her three friends: Plato the Panda, Octavia the Octopus and Pandora the Puffin! The game we look at is between Judit Polgar (white) and Pavlina Chilingirova (black), played in the 1988 Chess Olympiad. Find the PGN below.

      I'm autistic and I really like it when adults speak to me like this. It makes me feel safe, and I'm less likely to think they're mad at me or judging me. It's comforting being spoken to in an "infantalized" tone for me, even though I'm graduating from high school this year. I act younger than I am often, so that probably contributes a lot

    Something about this childlike vibe pairs so well with ASMR and educational content, and you pulled it off flawlessly for an entire hour! It reminds me of when you make the pieces talk - super cozy and relaxing. I hope this comes back in future :D
    And what a gorgeous mix. It's super bassy without being so resonant that it becomes pitchy/piercing. I think there's also some subtle stereo variation in the lower mids that adds that vibration-y feel that is *the* ASMR secret sauce for lower voices - I imagine you don't normally record your voice in stereo, so I wonder how much of your voice is coming in through the shotgun mics.

    • @ASMRChess
      @ASMRChess  3 місяці тому +32

      The mix is different in this one in that I’ve been able to target same crucial frequencies in the stereo pair of shotgun mics with the EQ and bring them down so they don’t get in the way of my voice coming through the third mic.

    This is probably my favorite video of yours yet. Maybe I am childish? Or maybe I am too adult these days. Either way, thank you for making me feel so at peace :)

      The child you were hasn’t gone away. It is not a bad thing to be childish in this sense.

    This might be a different comment from what you usually get, but I was feeling pretty down and couldn’t fall asleep. Watching your video helped me cheer up, feel cozy, and distract myself from my own thoughts by listening to your explanation of the game. You were very soothing, calming, and whimsical even because of the cute little stuffed animals, which is what I needed. Thanks to you I got up, had dinner, and now feel better to go about to sleep. Thank you ❤

    Not bc when I read "like you're a 5yo" I thought it was gonna treat us like we were stupid not like 𝒶𝒸𝓉𝓊𝒶𝓁𝓁𝓎 5yo, what a nice surprise🤣 Ive never known not even the amount of pieces there are in chess so the fact that I remember everything the stuffed animals said is hilarious
