I love the fact that when the room is mostly colorful, there's still some black and white things in the room, meaning that depression never truely goes away forever. He didn't have to put that little detail in there, but he did, and I love that.
@@Iera_Thaumaturgy That’s definitely true, but that’s the beauty of a work like this - it’s impressed us to the point where we’re putting own interpretations into it, even when it may not be intentional. The depression metaphor might not have been the original intent at all, but it’s very much one that appeals to those of us who battle it. And again, great art gives us room to believe it.
His hair reveals it too, but i thought it was a black and white filter but he used some weird ‘only this color shows in this area’ thing in editing somehow?
I knew it!!! It's practical effects. By far the most underrated asmr-artist out there, truly always putting on quite the spectacle which both entertains and relaxes the viewer. True UA-cam cinematography
The fact that all of these color swaps are done practically just makes my heart sing. An ode not only to amazing filmmaking but to practical camera effects and visual illusions - I'm in love with it. The books and the dish towel especially delighted me.
When In not so fare future sitting in a movie studio and in process in creating movies and he thinking how he get here.. the answer is BECAUSE OF THIS AWESOME VIDEOS YOU HAVE MADE HERE..
I was in awe looking at the candle being lit thinking "how the hell is the orange light emitting onto his shirt??????" thinking it was some crazy rotoscoping work and then realizing that it is all practical and that everything is literally black and white which made me impressed even more.
I've always loved how color could pop out in a black and white environment. This is probably my favorite art medium. Color in a dull world. Wish I knew what such art was called. I mean it has to have a name right?
More than an art in itself, it's a filmmaking technique. If you refrain from using certain elements whitin your story, their presence becomes more powerful. Like color in a black-and-white enviroment, or certain powerful phrases whitin a script, so on, so forth.
You know Atlas... This actually brought me to tears in the end... The message you can take from this... The joy I felt again after seeing the color come back to that black and white scene... Message well received Man... Thank you for making this... Truly... Thank you
The fact that we can see your wrists and they're coloured doesn't even make me upset it just further adds to the magic of this not just being a greyscale filter
At first I was in awe of the digital effects used to change the colours. Then I realised there were no digital effects and it’s all in camera and practical and I am even more in awe.
This is not what you expect from a UA-cam video , rather a short film from 40's , when colourful television was just invented . This video gives such warm emotions and joy . So much people were involved , giving so much effort in details . Will be definitely rewatching this video again .❤
For me, this isn't great for the ASMR response, but I think this is an excellent model of what ASMR should be. Every action had a purpose, and it told a story. Nothing about the character was creepy to me at all, and they weren't randomly feeling things to feel things. The character feels natural. At no point did I step back and question "what am I watching?". It didn't feel forced. The character was relatable. It's good.
Exactly I hate it when ASMR just has mindless tapping in it. It’s a fake representation of what ASMR is. This video is true asmr. There’s no attempt at “trying” to be asmr because it’s just natural, straightforward movements.
ASMR literally started as “Filler”. It was whispering, either coherently or incoherently. Then turning pages became a thing, and tapping. ASMR having a plot only became a thing when it started taking off more.
I thought this was going to help put me to sleep, but it didn’t because I kept going “geez, how on earth did they manage that trick? That’s so cool” This guy is out here making extremely impressive high class art, this is amazing
Yes yes, everything is great and creative and extraordinary, but using the written word "Bang" instead of the actual balloon popping has to be the most genius thing of the video
@@dew9223thanks man. I’m not trying to make it about me of course. I just felt like talking about how I feel. Glad there’s some people in this cruel world who care.
This has to be the most hardcore ASMR video ever made for the simple fact that you tied a balloon AND found the end of the duct tape roll *_while wearing cloth gloves!_*
I was busy and fell on that. Watched the whole video. I just kept being happier watching this first sad guy becoming happy by colouring his world. It's very beautiful. And sweet. 💝 Let's color the world people! 🌈🤩💘
This gave me Truman Show vibes, a man discovering that nothing about his world is what it seems. Absolutely loved this concept and the execution, well done! ⭐️🌟⭐️🌟
This video isn't just ASMR. It's a piece of art filled with creative use of color, some great symbolism and a lot of thought and work put into it. It's just how I like it. And Atlas' mannerisms and acting add to it perfectly. Just beautiful
This is awesome! The whole room was actually gray, and he added a bunch of colors too it. I feel like this has a deeper meaning though. It put a smile on my face
This was fascinating to watch. Watching everything light up with color/colour, it looks like some kind of exhibit in an art museum. I loved the reveal of the red velvet cake, it was so cool to watch. I’d love to have seen your thought process for bringing this all together. Feeling not great with side effects from the COVID booster shot - chills, body aches - so it was so nice to see this video pop up. So, thanks! And for some reason I now have a strange craving for onion rings 😆
When he’s looking sad while taking pictures and being alone for his birthday at the start, it’s way too sad for my emotionally damaged brain… legitimately made me shed a tear 😭
I can honestly say that this is one of the most creative videos you’ve ever made! The representation of colour (or lack of colour) is so relatable to many of us and how we see the world. And the journey you take us on when exploring and finding vibrance and joy in the colours you discover! Amazing my friend! To me this video reminds me that there is happiness all around us, you just have to look for it. I think I speak for many of us out there when I say, thank you for creating this masterpiece Atlas!
i'm blown away by how mesmerizing this was. can't imagine how long it took you to set all this up, and i'm still puzzling over the greyscale food packages hahaha
The fact that only one of his photographs has color already shows me how colorful we were when we were young, and our colors fade through the years as we become more exposed to reality. But we can find our colors again, if we dig deep, and look at reality from a different and unique perspective.
I feel like this is the essence of show don't tell. Just the way the general mood changes and how happy it is by the end vs the startt, even contrast the whole candle light and photo take without a word directly/indirectly said towards the viewer is just wow. I mean OK there is a mumble here and there but those seem to just be for the auditory asmr effect, the tone shift presented to the viewer would still be the same with or without. Its real nice !!
W H A T T H E H E C K maaaaaaaaaan this is PERFECT ! My first reaction seeing the notification was "pleasantville????" Hahaha this is way Impressive, can't believe you went so much pratical with painting most of it 10/10
I absolutely love this type of asmr where there’s not much/no talking and just noises and a nice video to watch while resting, love your work atlas keep making content like this
Необычная деталь. Эта серая краска является не только обесцвеченной, но и матовой. Выходит, что она скрывала не только цвет, но и блеск. Я совершенно очарован этим реквизитом
I absolutely love the mumbling noises he is making, It reminds me of one of those cartoon shorts that has the characters just making vocal noises but aren't actually speaking words.
0:53 I can’t tell you how many times I looked at a picture of past me and felt that sudden happiness remembering and reliving the early childhood days when life was simpler. God I miss it. I miss when the world wasn’t all black and white. I would do anything to go back to my world when it had color and happiness in it. Now it’s all emptiness thanks to how deep people have fallen into the isolated and lonely abyss we call a society
this reminds me of the feeling i get when i'm coming back to earth after getting really anxious or dissociated. as i ground myself and start paying attention to my surroundings again, it feels as if i'm gradually able to discard the oppressive greyscale and remember how to see the world in color again. i've grown to love ASMR because it helps me get out of my head. there are things to be seen, felt, heard, EXPERIENCED around me that i forget to pay attention to a lot of the time. in a figure of speech (because of course is goes well beyond that) i want to experience life in color. thank you for masterpieces like this that remind me what it is to be alive
I really like the technical details! Color=/= color, you reckonise that in black and white. A lot of dark or seemingly "black" objects aren't dark=closer to black but their saturation (desity of pigments or "intensity") is higher. The leaves of the plants or the pineapple for example or the neon colors of the microphones for example.
This is???? A short film?!?!?!?! Omg this is absolutely incredible! Not just the craft (alllll of the planning behind the color additions and switches) but in terms of the fact that Atlas creates depth to this character and tells a story while sitting in a chair without saying a word.
I don't know how you got the colour into the video, but this, my friend, was next level creative! You must've had a tonne of fun making this. And yes, of course, I got tingles like crazy.
I feel like a child watching magic tricks, every time a new colour pops: I smile and clap quietly. So mesmerizing and creative. So many positive emotions :). Also, this video made me have a little crush on Atlas 😳, looking even more attractive than usual.
I’m just sitting here wondering what software he used to pull this off, color isolation isn’t easy to do this well, much less multiple colors on the same scene.
I think it was practical effects, but I guess he could have done the greatest colour isolation technique I've ever seen too, both are pretty impressive.
@@A.K.A-17 I think he used a mixture of practical effects and software. For example, after the cut at 18:48 the fruits get some faint coloring before he wipes them clean
@@_kittencake that seems likely, but the jar full of nuts (or whatever those kind of grain looking things were) are throwing me off big time. I need to know how he made them colored coming out of the jar.
I love, love, looooove the creativity and execution of it! What clued me in was your wrist, but up until I saw it I wasn't quite sure how you'd manage to make everything so perfectly grey! I spent a long time looking at your hair also, the slight difference of colour with the rest made it really cool. Reminded me of Pleasantville. It was really, really, reaaaaally cool!
Im getting Charles chaplin like vibes. I love it. Also the way everything becomes colorful as we go further in the vídeo, im utterly amazed by this. I love it
I find it very impressive that this was done with practical effects and editing, it looks so good and must have taken a lot of careful set design mixed with amazing editing to get such a beautifully stocked and living table, excellent work

Or...the color black just exists in life
😃
@@lonzma2890 The best fully understandable interpretation
I realized that this wasn’t a black & white filter when I looked at his arms. This must’ve took so much effort. Props to you 👏
His hair reveals it too, but i thought it was a black and white filter but he used some weird ‘only this color shows in this area’ thing in editing somehow?
Looks like a bit of both maybe? At 8:55 you can see on the books where the digital filter starts and ends
I think he used some type of green screen, but can't exactly figure it out
I think he painted his face and the fruits/plants grey. He forgot about his arms though hehe.
I knew it!!! It's practical effects. I'm so confused since the beginning as I'm starting to look for clues like reflection, hues, shades, taint, areas missed by filter, is it edited his hands, his skin his hair I'm so confused whether it's all edited, practical effects or filter. Goddamn j was looking for something to give away so fkn bad

@@Da-C0ry But what is that technique called? It does have a name right?

The fact that we can see your wrists and they're coloured doesn't even make me upset it just further adds to the magic of this not just being a greyscale filter
At first I was in awe of the digital effects used to change the colours. Then I realised there were no digital effects and it’s all in camera and practical and I am even more in awe.
That’s not just an asmr , this is a masterpiece!
It's good.
Gotta hate it when in asmr they have to put in filler, NOTHING here is filler, it’s all doing something to progress the story
@@Sharpe1502 chicken or the egg. Toy story woody cleaning and fixing scene, some of studio ghiblis scenes etc
@exildesert mindless tapping is good for ASMR though, it is meant to put you to sleep.
his expression when he pours the orange juice is just so cinematic I love his acting so much- somebody get this man in a Wes Anderson film
I thought this was going to help put me to sleep, but it didn’t because I kept going “geez, how on earth did they manage that trick? That’s so cool”

I can honestly say that this is one of the most creative videos you’ve ever made! The representation of colour (or lack of colour) is so relatable to many of us and how we see the world. And the journey you take us on when exploring and finding vibrance and joy in the colours you discover! Amazing my friend! i'm blown away by how mesmerizing this was. can't imagine how long it took you to set all this up, and i'm still puzzling over the greyscale food packages hahaha
He puts so much effort that i don’t even skip his ads cause he deserves it
I don’t know why but this is the nicest thing I’ve heard anyone do online in a longg time. It’s really the small things that matter
Its real nice !!

this reminds me of the feeling i get when i'm coming back to earth after getting really anxious or dissociated. as i ground myself and start paying attention to my surroundings again, it feels as if i'm gradually able to discard the oppressive greyscale and remember how to see the world in color again.
i've grown to love ASMR because it helps me get out of my head. there are things to be seen, felt, heard, EXPERIENCED around me that i forget to pay attention to a lot of the time. in a figure of speech (because of course is goes well beyond that) i want to experience life in color.

Every single time you upload it is an absolute treat! I’d love to know how you did this effect and how you come up with these incredible ideas!

The concept behind this is truly what everyone goes through ! As you grow older,it all becomes black & white
For some reason, the body expressions and the way he acts and speaks reminds me a lot of Mr. Bean.
