Tbh I prefer Siren's Call over abyssal depths, due to me being more used to Siren's call and the teleporter spawning in convenient places (from my short experience).
This ranking should also Include a rating based of the type of enemies that spawn and how many of a certain type spawn, for example there is a crap ton of jellyfish spawning on Siren's Call Alloy Worship Unit is a complete joke on Merc because his shift for some reason keeps launching the boss into a wall and killing him in 2 or 3 shifts
I pick Siren’s Call for the amazing music. Also, I believe that Siren’s Call is better for multiplayer because each party member get’s a red item. Or if it’s a specifically good red item for one character, one person gets 2-4
I had an engie run on multiplayer with friends going terribly, but I had above 50 shrooms, my friends wanted to fight the boss so I thought whatever. Dropped 4 N'kuhuna's. nice.
For the abandoned aqueduct map, at the giant gate if you have enough movement speed, when you get into the corners on top of the gate where the gate meets the ground and sprint at a certain camera angle your screen will shake. If you jump or use huntress/merc teleport ability, you'll go through the gate. Ez Ice and Fire bands especially in later loops of your run.
that's either a bug or from the use of mods (which will unknowingly change a lot of game systems behind the scenes.) it is intended to be a red & I've always gotten one
If I have the choice, I will always choose Titanic Plains > Abandoned Aqueduct > Rallypoint Delta > Abyssal Depths (Siren's Call is decent too but a mod I use breaks the guaranteed legendary drop from the boss so I stick with the Depths.)
I actually love getting sirens call when playing multi-player because with more people the nest boss isn't super difficult and you get one legendary per person rather than just the one on infernal. Sure sometimes other legendary chests spawn but it seems super rare for me recently
In my opinion, more spread out maps are better, not because they’re more efficient (which they’re obviously not), but because it makes you feel like a tiny, underpowered ant, which is what a roguelike should do.
Woolie you forgot that in sirens call there are to many things that can spawn instead of a chest so you basically have to fight alloy or get lucky and get chests instead of gunner drones and equipment drones
For the update with the new stage 1 levels, winner is obviously in my eyes the alternate version of titanic planes. Very visible, easy to move around, very dense, and no secrets. Everything else is unchanged.
SmoothTurtle yeh second this the artifacts were awesome in the first one, adding your own challenges to what you choose and the last one being a good challenge to unlock (where you had to have them all active to get it once beating the last boss) I can see sprite, possibly command, honour, the one that locks an ability every few seconds as comebacks
You can nuke the secret boss on sirens call, it will take maybe about 10 seconds to kill the boss that way, meaning you have lost almost no time and you've gotten a red item.
Okay so scorched acres. Some games, mostly loader games, where I have insane mobility I like to go scorched acres if I'm ready to farm. The reason is it's like a metroid prime level and I understand that kind or lay out. Most time I just take the snow map (right I hack lunar couns because you can chose maps now and it's too expensive) but there are still pros its nto so bad.
In solo play I prefer abyssal depths over sirens call. A thing I've had happen MULTIPLE times is enemies breaking the eggs and prematurely summoning the secret boss. (Though in multiplayer I prefer sirens call since everyone would be able to get the guaranteed red item)
RuinedQuill183 gotta agree there I said it on another video that the eggs should’ve been made optional to break by having to manually break them like opening a container. Enemies, AOE damage and huntresses auto attack are the worst for accidentally summoning it when you don’t want to
The only time I go abyssal depths is maybe the first three loops of a solo run. The multiple legendaries in multiplayer that defeating the worshiper unit gives you and the reduced time to kill it in late game runs makes it a much greater option
I have the same visibility issue on depths as I do on acres. It's all red so I can never quite see the teleporter particles. Also, the cave is frustrating. You have to look so carefully, but it's such a tight space, and with elder lemurians spawning, it's just impossible to dodge. And finally, if you have a merc or loader in your party, it is ALWAYS worth it to go for the alloy worship unit. They can straight up one-shot that boss by slamming it into the ground. It's super easy to pull off, too. You just dash / punch into it's eye.
the problem with it is that its more likely to kill your team rather than help all of them since everyone can die to it at any given moment since its just that powerful its also still tanky no matter what kind of stuff your team gets
See, the thing about Scorched Acres tho is that it's the only place where Grovetender spawns, which means potentially getting Disciple which is kinda nice. But then again, Rallypoint also has Shrines of Order, which I can never say no to.
Scorched Acres is the *one* reason the speedrun unlock for Loader is a nightmare; you might as well bloody restart if you get Acres on the run. Its just not worth the time youll waste trying to find the tele
Scorched acres is not worse than wetland, the layout is at least very clean and consistent, you can use the arches to progress levels without jump boost, and the item grabbing is much MUCH more optimized. I'd say density is definitely closer to five. You were a bit too harsh on scorched and a bit too favorited towards rallypoint, I mean sure rallypoint is better but scorched is not bad as wetland! NOTHING IS BAD AS WETLAND
The teleporter particles should contain 2 or 3 different colors so that at least one of them sticks out on each stage's color theme. This would help a lot on Scorched Acres.
When I started playing, I thought Scorched Acres was fun and then there was one time where it took me 20 minutes to find the tele and i wasted so much time i ended the run. That wasnt fun. At all >:(
Hey Strimmer, here's a challenge one person only farms commons, one person only farms uncommons, another person only farms legendary and boss drops, and the last only farms lunar items
Alloy Worship Unit can be slammed into walls like other light enemies, and it does a ton of damage as well. Merc can one-shot the ball boi with a single shift and I’m sure other survivors can do the same
Only main issue with this is the enemy spawns, sometimes you gotta take the plunge in a good map for the chance of a Clay Dunestrider to zucc up your RNG
The thing about sirens call is if you're in multiplayer and defeat the friend of vultures 1 red item will spawn per player, single player for sure not worth it though
no, that is not correct. the only stages with guaranteed altars are Abandoned Aqueducts, Scorched Acres & Rallypoint Delta. the rest only have a chance to appear (and each map has 3 spawn locations, aside from the alternate versions of stage 1, which each have 4 possibilities - none are guaranteed tho)
My favorite stage is the Delve, where you get bestest boi, cuz time stops and you get 9 items, 4 whites, 4 greens, 1 red. I always try to do it after stage 1 or 2, the sooner you do Delve, the faster your power spike,
How do you decide whether to clip through the gate and kill Runald and Kjaro for their bands or not? I've gone after them a couple of times, but since I started playing Monsoon, I keep underestimating how beefy they get.
As Merc, I would actually prefer Siren‘s Call over Abyssal Depths because of the dash being able to ram the boss into the ground getting a (near)oneshot
Well here's a first for you: I prefer scorched acres over rally point delta. Scorched acres has more cover to get aggro off you. Delta is just flat and open and is prime time for hitscan enemies. Scorched acres also divides itself into two quite well, so you can plan pickups depending on where the teleporter is. If it's up top, you get all the items down below, them hit the teleporter and clean up top. Vice versa if it's the other way round
BUT MR STREAMER I LIKE SCORCHED ACHRES. It’s rough for sure tho, mostly for me cuz the templars punish poor positioning and that map HURTS positioning hard. I just like how purty it is, and i appreciate how different it is compared to most stages level design.
I'm just wondering if they'll add any long-term goals to the game. (as both lunar coins and basically any achievement completion can be added in by simply editing a text file)
While I usually take rallypoint, scorched acres does have waaayy morelarge chests, and depending on your mobility, it may be better to take it when late into your run. My opinion though.
Great Videos! Do you know what the logic for rarity for the rusted key is? Are there percentages out there. I know you have a better chance of getting a better item with the amount of keys a player owns.
I know that the maps themselves have some procedural generation, but the distant roost feels like there are 2 different versions of it entirely. I the one you showed is my favorite stage in the game (unless the bridge to the island is there), but the other one is such a freaking mess to navigate. Idk if this video came out before that update or not, but I just needed to say it.
The boss in sirens call is easy to kill, just finish the teleported event then kill the alloy worship unit. Literally a piece of cake. It may be more time consuming then just farming for the legendary chest, but in multiplayer, every team member gets the red item so it's real helpful.
@@Woolie Ohhh yeah there's that too, surely he's worth killing now then. I've only ever fought him once before the nerf and I honestly don't remember how hard it was aha.
Rallypoint delta is definitely better than Scorched acres, however scorched acres offers many vantage points and lots of cover whereas rallypoint delta is open. The structure of Scorched Acres also slows down chasing enemies, allowing you to line up a trap or ambush to grab a quick burst of gold with minimal backtracking and then be back on track.
I prefer scorched acres but only if I'm playing loader or mercenary. Sometimes when I'm on mercenary I just get stuck dealing with certain bosses, but on Acres you can just get up to the cliff with the guaranteed newt and watch the boss walk itself off the map. And with loader, his insanely high mobility give him an edge on gaining verticality to look for the teleporter and loot. When it comes to those 2 survivors, I cant really decide which map I prefer, however when it comes to literally anyone else, i will choose Rally. Also on Sirens, I like to spawn the teleporter boss at the same time as the Alloy. If you can kill both at once, you get a red, teleporter charge, and boss drop all roughly around the same time, and if you die it was only a waste of 18ish minutes. Big whoop in the long run.
Please can you make a video about new knock back mechanic on both rex and mercenary? Whether it is op or not. In my runs i think i insta killed Alloy worship unit at least 5 or 6 times.
My perfect set of stages is... Titanic Plains. Stage 2 doesn't matter for me; it's easy to find the teleporter on both; aqueduct's teleporter is always in the opposing area you spawned in, it's easy to see the sparkles in the Wetland Aspect. Rallypoint delta 100% --- Scortched acres is the WORST in ALL WAYS! Siren's Call is what I'm more used to and I like to battle the Alloy Worship Unit - it's fun!
i personally judge stages based only on how much time i tend to spend looking for the teleporter, which is why i hate Wetland Aspects after the time i spend 20 minutes looking for the damn thing
If you are playing mercenary you get a decently reliable way to efficiently kill the boss in Siren's call so i would say on him specifically the ranking should change

Wetland always has a newt altar in one of two locations. And both stage 1 maps can also have a newt altar
no, that is not correct. the only stages with guaranteed altars are Abandoned Aqueducts, Scorched Acres & Rallypoint Delta. the rest only have a chance to appear (and each map has 3 spawn locations, aside from the alternate versions of stage 1, which each have 4 possibilities - none are guaranteed tho)
My favorite stage is the Delve, where you get bestest boi, cuz time stops and you get 9 items, 4 whites, 4 greens, 1 red. I always try to do it after stage 1 or 2, the sooner you do Delve, the faster your power spike,
But Mister Streamer, I _like_
You
cause you
got
that
something
that I
need
in my
life
so
give it
to me
pass the boof
Abyssal depths should got a -15 on visibility, you cant see shit on that level, is almost black and no brightnees control on the switch.
Thx for the video. Would you ever pay 3 marks for a map in the blue portal stage? Doesn't remember the name right now.
the lunar seers and no, probably not. 3 coins is a lot for me :(
@@Woolie thx
You should do a list like this but for all companions and drones you can get.
How do you decide whether to clip through the gate and kill Runald and Kjaro for their bands or not? I've gone after them a couple of times, but since I started playing Monsoon, I keep underestimating how beefy they get.
They're the same strength as an elite elder lemurian would be, so kill the teleporter boss first & if you did it in under 30s, I'd say you're good
As Merc, I would actually prefer Siren‘s Call over Abyssal Depths because of the dash being able to ram the boss into the ground getting a (near)oneshot
Personally like sirens call the most, especially for multiplayer as everyone gets a red when you kill the boss
Well here's a first for you:
I prefer scorched acres over rally point delta.
Well I’m glad I’m not the only one who’s been noticing the new stages kinda suck. Scorched acres is just garbage and the new boss is ridiculous
I think the percentage chances are on the wiki
ngl, when I 1st started it sometimes took me like 4 minutes to find the TP in Wetland and Scorched
"bUt Mr.StReAmEr I LiEk ScOrChEd AcRes, ItS a PrEtTy MaP"
Does scorched acres also have a guaranteed invisible chest too? It's like the only map I find them in
nope - cloaked chests are entirely random
@@Woolie ah, I see. Thank you for clarifying that for me
I know that the maps themselves have some procedural generation, but the distant roost feels like there are 2 different versions of it entirely.
He was heavily nerfed in the Hidden Realms update- wasn't nearly as easy before it
@@Woolie Ohhh yeah there's that too, surely he's worth killing now then.
I've only ever fought him once before the nerf and I honestly don't remember how hard it was aha.
At least scorched acres is really pretty to look at and the scavanger item is pretty good
Rallypoint delta is definitely better than Scorched acres, however scorched acres offers many vantage points and lots of cover whereas rallypoint delta is open. The structure of Scorched Acres also slows down chasing enemies, allowing you to line up a trap or ambush to grab a quick burst of gold with minimal backtracking and then be back on track.
"There is absolutely no reason to visit it again"
Oh, how the times have changed.
It's just on abyssal depths with a lava worm it's just red
I cant seee!!!
On Titanic Plains, there's always a newt altar on top of the pillar things
It may not be always but I'm pretty sure it is
Nah, it is not guaranteed
You definitely should have talked about the enemy spawns in each stage
There is a secret on Titanic Plains, it is at the top of one of the huge rings
it's not guaranteed
sundered grove has a banger now ngl
Please can you make a video about new knock back mechanic on both rex and mercenary? Whether it is op or not. In my runs i think i insta killed Alloy worship unit at least 5 or 6 times.
Love this thanks for the video
This is one of the only games where i like the snow map
If you are playing mercenary you get a decently reliable way to efficiently kill the boss in Siren's call so i would say on him specifically the ranking should change
