- Years ago, a company named Anki released the most awesome little robot companion ever. Then Anki died... and so did Vector. This is Vector's story, and how we're going to rescue him.

At 8:30 in the video the block over your OpenWeatherMap API key disappears for a short moment.
Thought you might want to know in case you missed it and then want to generate a new Key.

Wire pod won’t work on my router setup so what should I do?

Where do I get a wire-pod or whatever you need to set it up? Do you have a link? I am not very tech savvy. Thank you.

What happenes if my vector robot wont update it gets a cloud symbol and then a exclamation mark

If you haven't, that's because servers that power Vector have been down for what I think is going on years now?
Is this for vector 1.0 or 2.0? And would u recommend buying vector in 2024?
Wire-Pod will work with either Vector 1.0 or 2.0.
As for recommending buying him or not... don't buy him if you're looking for support from Digital Dream Labs. They're all promise and absolutely no deliver at this point.
But if you're willing to do this Wire-Pod method and can get a good deal, he's absolutely worth it. Love our Vector.
Can I run the server from my phone or does it have to be a pc?
You can run it from an Android phone, but not an iPhone. Just keep in mind your Android phone will need to be on and within Bluetooth range anytime you want Vector to be smart.
Is there any way I can manually reconnect my vector to my wifi? As we all know the app doesn't work anymore.
Yes, this is exactly what this video is about. You'll create your own server and basically a browser version of the app.
Will the server run from my computer? What happens if I turn the computer off?
@@muntazirzia3924 Yes, the server will run from your computer (or whatever device you install this too). If you shut it off, Vector will lose his "smarts" and ability to answer to "hey Vector" until you turn your computer back on. He'll still drive around and make noises.
You could install this server to something like a raspberry pi and leave that running all the time. Less power involved.
need some help watching your video gave me hope but when i try to pair up with chrome it keeps saying (an error has occurred so the page will reload ) i try resetting user data and putting vector off n on again like it says but it still doesnt pair up with chrome
Hm. Just double checking, does your device (PC or Mac) have Bluetooth? It'll need Bluetooth to make the connection.
Troubleshooting in UA-cam comments will be difficult, as screenshots and such can help.

You should just be able to doubleclick on Vector's button to pull up the IP. If that isn't working, then he's not ready for this and you may need to repeat some steps.

With this method you host the server in your home
You create your own home server.
I used an old android phone to set one up just a couple hours ago after dusting off my Vector.
You can use your PC, laptop, Mac, Linux PC
I am now deciding between getting Emo or Vector, since there's a way to revive Vector. I'm just really unsure if this will actually work with one used Vector i found on Amazon. Should I get one and would it also work if Vector was like, factory reset? I know it sounds weird, but i dont wanna spend my money and then get disappointed when it doesnt work🥲
I don't have an Emo but looked at it a bunch, seems really fun if you can get a hold of one.
As for buying a used Vector, it should work perfectly fine, you'd start with a factory reset yes... and then do this process and it'll never try to touch cloud servers anyway. Good luck!
