This is so much fun everyone! I don’t crochet or knit and I’ve made 5 beautiful cowls as gifts! This instructor is so thorough and easy to understand. Thank you very much. ❤
I realize this is an older video, but want to compliment you on your patient, slow, and thorough teaching style. Just found this today and was able to follow your careful directions! Im not a knitter, so thats saying something! Thank you
The best video for arm knitting I’ve ever watched. Very thorough, clean and easy to follow . Thank you so much for sharing.
By far the best tutorial I've seen. I love how the beginning end looks braided and the the end as well. First video i have found where she connects the ends so they line up. Makes for a better looking and finished product.
Thank you so much for making my life easier! I have watched many arm knitting videos and yours is the first one that shows the best way to join the ends! You're so right - it just disappears!
BEST ARM KNIT VIDEO I’VE WATCHED!
Thank you for taking your time & explaining it so carefully & the pom poms were a great touch?
You’re an excellent teacher ☺️
Anne makes the best looking arm knitted cowls ive seen.
This has been in my desire list for as long as I can remember. Never knew how to do it. Thank you very much for the great tutorial it was perfect. God bless you.
well, i was told i was not talented for knitting cos i am left handed and was too young to know better but you make me rethink that. very patient and good tutorial, i will save it.
The clearest arm knitting instructions I've seen. Thanks so much. I can hardly wait to get started. I've experimented with different weights of yarn and it really is fun to change the look of the finished scarf. I found the super bulky was too thick for me and I enjoy it thinner and longer to do multiple wraps.
Thanks to you Anne, I just finished my first arm knit cowl in a crème color for my Granddaughter! I know she will love it! I had to frog it a few times but I got the stitches where it pleased me finally and finished it just a few minutes ago. Thanks to you and your great tutorial. You are amazing! God Bless and hope you keep them coming!
+JoAnn Williams Thanks so much Joann - just realizing there are all these comments here! How fun to go back and read them!
Great video, really clear instructions and Anne is adorable! Thank you! X
She is so great about explaining everything. I will be following her to learn more.
I absolutely LOVE this tutorial and I am giving arm knitting a try!!! How simple and yes, quick this is. I will certainly be watching more of your tutorials as you are so easy to listen to and follow, you are a natural!
Thank you so much for such an awesome tutorial. I've watched several others but my finished cowls never looked quite how I wanted, the stitches were to big and floppy. it always looked like a messy fishing net to me.. haha. I am halfway through my first one after watching your video and I am loving it. I really appreciate all the extra stuff too like the pom poms ... soooo cute. Im doing one for my 3 yr old daughter . she will love the poms. your a very good teacher ! thanks you .. I want to get your book Knitting Without Kneedles next..
This tutorial was look excellent...very well done. I look forward to seeing what others that you have done.
This is a true beginners tutorial. Thank you very much.
Thank you so much for the tutorial. So helpful for a beginner. The scarf came out so well.
Oh we're so happy to hear that!
Thanks so much Anne! I love ya! I've made sooooooo many crocheted letters after purchasing your book, Knitting without needles! I would love for you to post a video on how to finger knit a headband and perhaps a few different arm knitting stitches. I have the book but to see it in a video would be great! Have a great weekend and thanks again! Your a wonderful teacher!
Great instructions!! thank you!
+Anne B. Weil, thank you so much!! I will definitely look into your book!!

What a great tutorial! This helped my arm knitting go up a notch and to work through some kinks i had! Thanks! : )
Very good teacher
Best tutorial ever! Thank you so much. Could you recommend me a very good quality yarn that won't shed? Also, I've been trying to do it nice and tight like yours, but my chains look much bigger and lose. I have skinny arms, what am I missing?
Hoo parece tão difícil 😂
I love this tutorial! Thank you! I have a question about the cream colored bean bag or ottoman in the background and wondered if you have a tutorial on how to do it. I would also love to know how to do pillow covers for decorative/functional pillows. Thank you.
Thank you so much! That's ok, though. I really appreciate you getting back to me! I just happened across your tutorials a day or so ago and plan to take full advantage of your site!
+april bagwell If you want the pouf that is in the background, the pattern for it is available in my book Knitting Without Needles flax-and-twine.myshopify.com/collections/books or, I have a pattern available: flax-and-twine.myshopify.com/collections/knitting-patterns/products/fabulous-floor-pouf-pattern for a similar pouf.
the best tutorial i've seen
madam u r very warm person thx
+Teta Jana Thank you!
I heard you say, it was 11 stitches wide. How many stitches long was this scarf?
I just purchased your book "Knitting without Needles" but would find a video tutorial for the pouf helpful. Do you have any plans to make one?
+Kayleigh King A video tutorial for this would be great. I'll add it to the list!
Would this work with two skeins? I'm trying not to buy more yarn and use my stash.
+tishushu It will just look looser. The stitches will be less full.
You could make a mini-cowl but it wouldn't loop around twice. It'd be very warm though!
I have ripped out more arm knit scarves then I can remember. I'm having trouble keeping my stitches tight, especially the first and last stitch. What am I doing wrong?
+Kathy Santangelo
The first thing that is important is to keep your hands close
together as you knit. Do you pull your arms apart when you’re actually
making the stitch? Sometimes you can grab the working yarn close to your
hand and then pull your arms apart from each other as you are making
the stitch or as you go to get the working yarn for the next stitch. Try
to grab the working yarn close to the last stitch you made, but also
keep your hands/wrists/arms close together as you pull the new stitch.
The next thing to think about is that the last stitch you made won't
actually lock down tight, but the one you made just before it can
tighten. So as you arm knit, think about tightening the prior stitch to
the one you're currently knitting so that it is snug to your wrist. Each
time, concentrate on tightening the one before the one you just made by
snugging up the working yarn.
Lastly, you can always manually tighten your arm knit stitches by starting at the second from the beginning stitch on the stitches you've just made (close to your elbow). If you've been orienting the stitches correctly (not everyone does
this), you can pull the working yarn snug against your arm from the leg
of the stitch that is behind your arm. Pull on that, then move to the
next stitch and pull on the back leg of that one. Continue to tighten
each stitch against your arm as you move towards the stitch closest to
your hand. As you tighten, the excess yarn will come with you towards
the working yarn at your hand.
I had a small question about this. For doing this are we able to use less bulky yarns if we dont have the more bulky ones? Because honestly i have a tone of regular and medium size yarns just sitting and doing nothing.

i did get it finished and it is a bit taller than i wanted but it looks really good and it warm as ever. what i did was some kind of finger weaving like thing and then arm knit with that. Still looks good ^_^ love this pattern
***** i shall have to send it someway or another. i havent figured out how to send a pic on youtube yet. But its my main picture now ^_^
*****
but i also posted them on google plus and tagged your thing there
***** i nshall have to try and see how it goes ^_^
I've made 2 infinity cowls, and I have been able to make it work but somehow I wind up with my tail and working yarn at the same side before I weave it in? I notice in the video they are on opposite sides before you weave it in. Any advice on where I might be doing something wrong?
+Kristen White This is just based on which arm you cast off of. If you bind off from your right arm, your left over working yarn will be on the same side as your tail. If you bind off from your left arm, it will end up on the opposite side.

+Nahala Famia You can buy the yarn in my shop: flax-and-twine.myshopify.com/collections/pattern-kits Or, there are some great yarns you can buy at your local craft store. Also, I'm about to do a blog post on great yarns for arm knitting in the next week or so. Follow along at www.flaxandtwine.com.
