Kylo Ren is an amazing character. He's not the typical, mustache twirling villains like 90% of Star Wars. He's a real person, driven by resentment, which is how we, in the real world, often fall to the Dark Side.
Disagree. Couldnt been awesome, but Rian Johnson ruined him... and practically everything in the sequels

30 years is a long time, characters change if Luke hadn't changed personality I would of been disappointed plus he had failed Ben and help his tranfer into Kylo Ren i can see why he was a grumpy old man he had created another Darth Vader.
TLJ is a masterpiece of character development.

I loved the Last Jedi a lot and thought everything with Luke was totally in line with his character, however I understand and respect your opinions as a fellow fan, and hope that you LOVE Episode IX along with all future SW projects❤️❤️❤️

I respect your opinion but I disagree. Luke is fully in character. He never completed his training and got caught up in his legend. He failed Ben and couldn’t accept it. It took Yoda to complete his training in the end. What’s more Jedi then never igniting a lightsaber and saving your friends? He came to confront Kylo and tell him he’s sorry and that he failed him. And now Force ghost luke can finally be what rey needs her to be.
Absolutely agree. I just can’t understand how fans don’t get it. They wanted some kind of “anakin” like Super Hero Luke and that would have been boring and not true to character. He went through a bunch of stuff and it makes sense that he would be an old curmudgeon, much like Yoda did when he went into hiding. Even the stuff with Ben was a brief fleeting moment. People act like he was going to kill his nephew. He had a moment of weakness that passed as quickly as it came. The way fans act like Luke was ruined is not only ridiculous but Absurd
Olli Konttinen yep and that’s the problem. Fans wanted one thing regardless of if it fit the story or made sense. Since they didn’t get that, and group think has taken over, people just gripe. I love what they did with TLJ and Luke’s story was really good.
Stig Johansen You didn’t like the movie, I can understand that. It’s like Empire, the initial reaction from a portion of the fan base was very negative but over time it became the quintessential Star Wars film. I know cause I was there. Same thing here
Still, what would have been cool is for Luke to turn around and lift a walker and decimate some of the troops to give the Rebels a chance before saying “See you ‘round, kid.”
Zain Hartono right before he shoots lasers out his eyes. Nah, Luke is the ultimate Jedi and the true form of light. He faced down the whole first order without igniting a lightsaber, that’s the dopest thing ever. He became what yoda was before the prequels sullied him. I’m so glad we’re getting away from the gamification of the force.

Luke didn’t strike down Kylo either. He just thought about it and then stopped his saber before. The same as he did with Vader.
Solo was a pleasant surprise. The new SW film i least wanted to see, yet really enjoyed it

No, the greatest teach is failure. It’s said the greatest teacher failure is cuz that’s how Yoda speaks. Learning from our failures and letting it teach us.

I love the vid and your reaction was great. But like you, I was very underwhelmed by The Last Jedi. I wish the actual movie had been as focused as this fan video is. However, I really hope the next film is better...I just don't really see how it can be.
Its a nice video but i still dont agree with the Luke stuff and him being about failure all of that. What i mean is i dont like the wya inwhich it was executed.
I would have done it like this - Luke Skywalker, the premier Jedi in the galaxy, after the events of ROTJ he is tasked with re-establishing the Jedi Order. Would Luke at this point not have sought to prevent the cyclical risks of Jedi being seduced to the darkside? So what if that new generation of Jedi he as training, he trained them to be Grey Jedi. So Luke would be teaching them to strive to recognize both "Light" and darksides of the force, so they basically strive to become "balanced".
But where he would fail is with Ben, when young Ben Solo begins to question Luke's teaching, in such a radical approach, not just in the same way Yoda and Obi Wan followed the Jedi Order and it's teachings, Luke was trying something different; because remember he was more of a modern Jedi anyway, he dressed in black, he displayed abilities like force choke on those Gommoran guards.
When Ben starts to disagree and question Luke's teaching he begins to lean more toward wanting to learn who Darth Vader was and what his ambition were, he leaves with a bunch of the students, and then returns later as Kylo Ren killing the rest of the padawans, with the Knights of Ren. Thats how i see it anyway.
I agree - it would have been a much more in-character and poignant approach to who Luke Skywalker was. Good take on it.
Thanx, so it would be like that Luke tried this radical way of teaching new generation of Jedi and things mess up when his most gifted student turns against him, so in that sense Luke "fails", but not to the extreme extent that he feels the need to literally ignite the green right at his nephews bedside, contemplating killing him right there and then! Even if it was just for a split second, goes againsts everything he was about.
But i still dont get it, IF Luke had managed to do all that, not let himself get seduced, never went to Vader with violence, all that and redeemed him. What really is all this issue about that Luke still had not learned about Failure!?
Why wasnt Yoda telling Luke he needs to learn about failure bk in Empire times? also they keep going on about Luke needing to learn failure, what about friggin Rey!? Oh yeh Daisy says she doesnt think the character has any flaws whatsoever lol.

I agree, very cool vid...they did a great job, but I don't like seeing TLJ Luke anymore bc it doesn't fit with the other movies. All I can think of is how proud Round-Head Rian is with himself...that smug asshole.

Be positive. "Solo" will be OK, not great. A fan film with a budget, but better than Rian Johnson's bowel movement.
And about the video? I don't really understand how people wish to see connections between the Prequels and the Classics; a bad movie is a bad movie, and I don't wish to contaminate the good with the bad. And the new stuff? Like I said, they are fan films with budgets, no matter if they're OK, carbon copies or gonorrhoea.
