Honesty? This has been fixed by Boeing, it was, as you mentioned, a short term issue that no longer persists. So I share your opinion that this should be made optional, and opt-in for that matter. If they're argumenting with "this is a funny quirk" then if they ever make a MAX-Model, will they also keep the MCAS-system before the grounding in, because it's "funny and quirky"? Na. Optional. They shouldn't force people to deal with something that has been resolved IRL ages ago.
simulated mcas as an option does sound kinda funny
I agree with you Emmi - should definitely be an option… it’s not like options are lacking in this amazing sim!
I just wanted to say that I really appreciate your commitment to your channel and the community, all the hard work you´re constantly putting into it. Thank you.
If it was a "bug" in the real airplane that got fixed, why leave the bug in the simulation and call it a "feature"?! Just remove it or at least make it an option, that is off by default.
cuz its realistic
@@SpidaMezNo, it isn't. It was a bug fixes by Boeing 20 years ago.
The NG during the initial entry into service was known as "737 No Go" due to PSEU false warnings... just like the EMB 170-190 family known as EMB-180 due to the electrical issues during generator change after engine start messing up the airplane.
Love this kind of videos, thanks!
Since the issue is no longer present in the real plane, I believe this should be a choice.
I like these small quirks but also, if it was permanently fixed by Boeing it would be better as an option
ROBERT, its 2023. Time to update the FMC software and make the outdated resolved issues optional. Or at least an option to turn off in the EFB.
As you’ve mentioned before, the PMDG has many details that make it closer to an early build NG rather than a newer one, hence I’d like to see an option for a old or new build aircraft. Selecting new might remove now-fixed issues like this one. Great video as usual.
Thank you, I thought I was doing something wrong
Didn't realize this was fixed in the real plane. I never have liked it on takeoff as it is a huge distraction and the cause of many hot brakes. I dislike it more now knowing it isn't currently realistic.
Thanks for sharing!
Great video. I always wondered what this was lol. I just ignored it but now I know one more thing about the 737.
Thank you for addressing this. I initially wasted hours figuring out this feature. This goes on to show you care.
Now please make some detailed videos on FMC and automation and more approaches.
They ought to make it an option, but additionally, that's something they should add to the introduction manual, so not as many people keep asking about it.
Thanks for the info. I've spent a couple of hours learning the basic flows of the 37 and had this pop up a couple of times. Didn't know if i was doing something wrong or if it was a pmdg bug.
Another weird behavior is when i hit recall. I press, the annunciators illuminate. I release, the annunciators extinguish. Couple of seconds later the annunciators illuminate again on their own, and i need to press recall again 🤷♂️
Lol, got this error yesterday and was very confused :D
Very informative. Thanks. I thought it was a bug. But this is like simulating a bug from real life 🙂
Well if it’s an interesting little quirk and I’ve been dealing with it since 2011 so very much used to it as part of the simulation. If it’s however no longer an issue in the real aircraft they probably should take it out or make it an option. PSEU new/old would surely be a very simple option to add.
I don't believe pmdg have the technological skills anymore to code this out of the product 😂
Newb trying to be pro perspective : I don't know anything about this, and it make me run the QRH non normal checklist, and I still can't figure it and i decide to left it like that through out the flight since this is just a sim. Nowadays whenever it ever pop out again i just ignore it.
Thanks for info and clarification captain.
EDIT: probably this is a good thing to have, I will never ever run a non normal checklist if this never happen
Off topic a little, but I found a bug that causes a CTD in the sim with the PMDG 737. If you need to change the Missed Approach Fix, example at Birmingham Shuttlesworth according to the Notam, changing so in the FMC results in an immediate soft crash. Would be nice if others could confirm this
I surely want them, so optional is fine, but totally not having them would surely make me sad, as having such little things is like having a cherry on the cake, makes the experience little more interesting. At the end we are here to enjoy the sim, we don't always have to take off in our slot times 🤪
I really don’t understand why they keep it a feature if it’s fixed in the real aircraft 😅
What are some other spurious faults that illuminate?
Remove it, it's very annoying tbh and if immersion is the aim Of the pmdg then surely they should make it true to life? Or as you said, make it optional.
Moves the thrust 7 times
"That was surely like 10-15 times"
I do not understand what having this in the default airplane actually accomplishes for the end user. I have tried to learn and understand most of the systems in this airplane because I truly enjoy this era of technology in the flight deck, but including something like this where I do not understand what is going on unless I run across this "documented" issue (or your videos), is frustrating at best. For those that do not want to learn all of the systems, a "feature" like this only dilutes the importance of the warning system and thus, the user just starts to ignore all warnings not even trying to learn what is going on at all.
Personally, I do not want this "feature".
VG!
Abwarten, 2-3 Minuten nach Powerup geht er dann. Klingt nach Feature, aber ich habe Videos von Start-ups gesehen wo der Stickshaker sofort geht. Also kein Ahnung
Plz PMDG remove it, soo stupid that it doesn't match IRL. That's the reason i buy these planes too get as close as possible to the IRL counterpart.
If everyone would wrote them a mail they probably fix it. So damn annoying implementing old bugs
