- A long lost yet the most powerful and durable engine even produced by Royal Enfield, the AVL engine aka A350/Machismo/Thunderbird 1st generation which was discontinued as the market called it to be a stupid machine because the clanking sounds was almost impossible to be controlled. However, my father, my ‘guru’ taught me how that can be controlled which is what is demonstrated in this video. Please do let us know what else would you like to know in the comments section below..

I have a machismo facing similar issue
i have a 2000 model avl machismo. had frequent problems due to poor oil flow resulting in high noise, and wearing out of the parts. finally traced the issue to partially blocked oil flow hole near the pump which was a casting/manufacturing defect. replaced the entire timing cover. also there was play in crank. rectified both and now it still runs smooth. revs like a 2 stroke, very good pickup.
So what ur saying is that the problem is temporary resolved or permanently 🤔

I own 2004 avl machismo A350 with abilon gear box & machismo LB 500.
The 350 has almost clocked 68000km
& is running smoothly.

This is his family business and he grew around it. So it's natural for him to have knowledge on RE engines and how to fix them. But doesn't mean he can design engines. Let's leave it to the engineers.

This is best production engine by re i have both classic 350 and avl 350 my avl has done nearly 1.5 lakh km still running nyc vibrations are very less compared to classic 350 uce and overall quality of my machismo avl is on par with classic 350

I have a AVL thunderbird of year2008. the bike is awesome and still producing 40+ mileage. the main issue is the cam. and oil pulling to airfilter.

I used to have a Machismo A350 2003 Model. Performance-wise it was amazing but this Tapped Noise irritates me a lot. Agencies Guys were not even ready to repair it but I found a Mechanic in Meerut, he solved the issue.

एजेंसीज के मकैनिक ने हाथ जोड़ लिए थे कि भाई ये ऐसे ही रहेगी। बड़ा दुःख हुआ था। 2008 2009 में शायद ये ही इतनी महंगी बाइक थी। रॉयल एनफील्ड बाइक में क्वालिटी इशूज हमेशा ही रहे है। ये मेरा अनुभव है।

This model was the one which inspired me to buy thunderbird. Fan ho gaya bhai is Gaadi ka.
Everything was good but you have to compare both engine noice (before & after) at the last of video.

I used to have machismo 350 with AVL Engine, and I was very frustrated with the engine noise and many other problems.
Forcefully I had to sell that.

@@ganeshkurwade2839 Bhai kuch nahi karna hai. Keval hard ke valve ki espring bahut hard hoti hai usko thoda soft Kar Dena bas or kuch nahi. Do option hai uske ya to espring ko double ki jagah single Kar do ya fir thda chota Bas.

I own a Machismo 2002 model, 350 CC. I just want to know, how can you say that the tapping sound the engine makes as a manufacturing defect?? Did the company said that as a manufacturing defect?? During initial days of my using the vehicle i too felt that sound the engine makes is something not normal unlike other Royal Enfields, but over a period of time i accepted the fact that the engine is built or made in that style, it does a good sound like a sewing machine... My gut feeling is that don't change the original make..

Meri bhi bullet hai BS4 classic 350 2018 ka model hai.
Meri bhi enfield mai problem hai vibration,less pickup aur tapet ka bohot hi jyada awaaz ata hai. Aap suggest kare ki kaise problem solve ki jaye.
For subscribers like me it is impossible to bring my bike to Delhi bring from remote areas. It’s now very disappointing knowing that you didn’t share the solution which was much expected.
I had Machismo 500 limited edition but had to sell it because Royal Enfield didn't even have stocks for replacement parts. Even a basic thing like Decompressor wire was not available and they told me to wait for 1-2 weeks. Fortunately since it was a limited edition, I sold it for higher price than my buying price after using it for 6 years. Switched to Thunderbird 500 UCE which is much more reliable but the I still miss the excellent torque of AVL engine.
I m planning to buy from OLX is it good to buy how is the riding quality currently I m having classic 350 please tell
@@my_life-my_rules. Bro ride will be rough and you'll feel more vibrations compared to Classic. But buy it only if you can source spare parts. They are really hard to come by.
@@AkashYadavOriginal classic is better than machismo ? I was interested in this machismo because it can start without battery spares of old model also available
@@my_life-my_rules. It has more torque than Classic but also the engine makes more noise (tappit noise) and more vibrations. But the maintenance and spare parts hassle IMO is not worth the effort.
If u need old school Bullet go with Bullet 350 CI or Electra CI as spares won't be a issue, plus you'll find specialist CI mechanics who can easily maintain these bikes.

Advantages of AVL engine - better oil pump performance and delivery, bearing for conrod, better cooling, better power delivery, better valve train design, better mileage, improved clutch and magnet design in TCI models, 5-speed gearbox and disc brake in later models. Any day superior than cast iron, which is just hyped by people who don't understand engine design. Best part - it can be converted to cast iron by an experienced mechanic.

Not necessarily, if someone has intensive knowledge about parts, there are OEM (same as original) and some brands being original supplier for a different vehical brand manufactures quality parts for another vehicle brand for which they are not the original supplier, quality will be good as original but for at lower cost. Cables, lock set, switch gears, levers, piston, oil seal, bearing, packing kits break calibers and so.

Thanks brother , I have a Avl engine 2007 model Thunder bird royal Enfield. This video showing that same problem in my bullet . Lot of engine sonds . I am from Kerala , I doing work in Saudi Arabia . End the 2021 my bullet cover 15 years, I want to retest . I think send my bullet to your work shop , that's good . Author wise it put in to scrap . Some small problems I showed my bullet in local work shop in Kerala , the work shops workers told me same your words . This was failure engine, now it parts are not available in the market . I heard this word's my heart was totally broken ,why my father was sitting on my bullet and enjoyed her travels at long time . And he loved my bullet . He don't like travels another bike's until her death . He passed away before eight moths . By the by I want change front and back shake abuser, front and back mulgads . And replaced classic shake abuser's and mulgads. It's possible ? Now AVL engine head and carburetor available in market ? . My bullet clutch Bowden to long . I saw this video that bullet clutch Bowden as compared my bullet to small . I want to send my bullet to your work shop .
