This Time: Radiant Silvergun (1998) by Treasure.
This is my favorite vertical shmup on the Saturn and in my personal TOP 10 of ALL time!
This game is awesome, the soundtrack is fantastic and the gameplay is flawless.
I love this game and i hope you will enjoy this full SATURN MODE playthrough as much as i did! ^_^

I just played it for the first time, been wanting this game for 20 years. It didn’t disappoint! I’m jealous of your Hitachi Saturn
So many of the graphical effects were already in this version of the game. Which you'd think would be a remake only thing. Showed that the Saturn could do quite a bit if used creatively.
The joy I feel just from watching this is immeasurable.

Amazing! I didn´t know it was the same composer! That´s news to me! It´s funny ´cause i was watching the video and listening the music... and i though "hey, that´s familiar... i´ve heard those tunes before...seems like an rpg game... but what game....Final Fantasy Tactics!". Couldn't wait for this to be released in xbox, needless to say I was not disappointed its a blast...
that music of the final boss gives me chills, its almost telling us to our face we are fucked

What is really sad is that Radiant Silvergun didn't get a direct sequel like initially planned. If they had made one, maybe in the sequel humans could have finally broken the closed time loop and saved their civilization.

On Stars the robot is shown be alive/functioning well in the distant future because its describing Star Wars events as a long time ago. Its weird how this Creator robot broke down 20 years after the game ending. Even the robot in Fallout 4 was functioning well 200 years after nuclear war. If this game robot could have lasted longer it may warned humans and broke the time loop.
This should be re-released on Steam. If Ikaruga could get released on there, I don't know why this couldn't.
There's countless games i want to see from the sega saturn era re-released on steam. They should have a collector's edition. Sadly last i deep dived into this on JPN forums there's basically alot of legal copy right issues and missing source codes. Like how sega lost Panzer Dragoon's Saga source code. Which is why it won't get a re release.

To be fair, he's starting out with the weapons really highly leveled up (they're all like maxed out) which makes the game a lot easier.
Yep it is with lv 20 weapons you become more op
Weapons are maxed out, of course they made it look easy because it was easy
The game in fact was being played on an easier difficulty
@@sunekoo even with the weapons maxed out it is no cake walk, but on easy it’s not nearly as bad.
Playing this for the first time all the way through and it's brilliant game design. Not the biggest shmup fan but this is a masterpiece. Thinking about playing through Mars Matrix and the Giga Wing games after.
MM and GW are ace shmups! You also should try Ikaruga and Giga Wing 2 some day!

@@pachucodreams No idea what systems you own but check out Zero Gunner 2, Psyvariar and Castle of Shikigami if you can. If you also like horizontal shmups you will love Sengoku Blade.

Hold on a second....Does this mean that the cycle restarts again? I noticed that the hunk of metal looked a lot like the internals of the robot near the end? Would that mean that many years later they would discover the same robot and the same Diamond thing and the whole process restarts again like as if the player restarted a new game?
Yes. It was a closed time loop. The creator robot said the epilogue it had happened over and over again. A google search of radiant silvergun wiki explains.
+Recon Twenty Thirty and ikaruga apparently stops that loop because the stone like is detroyed in the end.
I really don't get this ending. So they were teleported to the distant past, annihilated by the artifact, then the robot creates their clones in the past, which is why the robot's remains and the artifact are found in the future. What I don't get is how they were in some underground facility when humanity shouldn't have existed yet. Did they become Adam and Eve? Was humanity able to survive after the artifact was defeated in the future?
Jamie Diamond Translation explains The creator robot stayed behind in the future after the tetra was destroyed so it was able to access an underground facility to make the clones. it did not board the silvergun fighters or it would have been destroyed as well and in 100,000 B.C. there would have been no underground facility with computers to make clones. It is too bad Radiant Silvergun gun never got a direct sequel. It was such a great game.
Sev Raquel It is strange how in the year 2520 humans had not colonized Mars and the moon and had no large space station colonies in deeper space. Earth could not hold sustain population growth for that long. By 2050 the world is projected to have 9 billion people by 2520 Earth would run out of resources and room.

Does anyone else think the Silvergun fighters look a bit like the ship they use in the 6th level of Gunstar heroes?

Pretty much. Including the main heroes. So the CREATOR made clones of the main heroes to become the Adam and Eve in the past Earth.
