selling prints when you're an established/ well practiced (so not me at the age of 15) artist is such a "low stakes" way to start since they really don't take up a lot of space, so even if you don't sell them right away they can just sit tucked away in a drawer somewhere. Same with stickers. and shipping is easy to figure out. Where it gets tricky is other products like stationery imo. i love plastering my wall with postcard sized prints of art!!! they're the perfect size
So glad I stumbled upon your video! I’m currently a product designer but have been toying with the idea of slowly starting a sticker or art shop and you’ve seriously inspired me! I can’t wait to pick back up on where I left on procreate ❤ please do a quick how to make stickers from start to ship (and your preferred method of printing cuz I’m lost there lol) if you can!
omg love your works!! Could you share more about how you got settled into becoming a full time illustrator? it’s something I’d love to get into but not sure if it’ll be viable :/
thank you!!🙏 a couple other people have requested this kind of video as well - I'll try to work on it soon, but I feel kind of imposter-y about doing it because i by no means feel like I've "made it" yet lol (if that feeling even exists) BUT to give you a snapshot - i went to school for design & illustration, and most of my jobs/work have been primarily graphic design related, with illustration being a valuable asset. Only recently I've started identifying myself as an illustrator first, and looking for specifically illustration-rated work. Its a long road with lots of self doubt (that I'm still very much on) but any "success" I've seen has come from putting myself out there - applying for things, introducing myself via email, sending around my work, asking people I know for connections with potential clients, this youtube thing, etcetc. Wherever you are in life, art is such an amazing thing to make time for, and if you're scared of making the leap I think its totally viable to just start small and work on taking a few jobs/commissions on the side, sharing your work wherever you can, and just focussing on making art that you love & enjoy creating🙏 hope that helps for now!!!! i believe in you💪
also, although you're not going with them, I know a lot of people have turned their back to stickermule because the CEO is a trump supporter and donated to him- so there's that :')
Wishing you the best for your shop !! 💖 It's really interesting to see your journey ! I've thought about opening an online shop too, but idk it seems like such an organisation and I struggle with that haha 🫠 Also idk if you need to have a lot of followers already before opening a shop ? Anyways, I'd love to see more videos like that to see the "behind the scenes" of a shop ! 😊
thank you!!🫰 yeah im honestly kind of dreading figuring out shipping lol but once I get the hang of it I'm sure itll be fine - & no i dont think you need to have a huge following to start!! my following is relatively small and I'm only really expecting to get like a handful of orders when I launch, but the main thing is to just start so that I can keep going and keep growing🌱 & I'll keep documenting my journey for yall!!🙏
@@leechuts If you figure it all out I’d love to see a video on how it works ! And also I’m wondering what is the best way to make prints ? Like should I go to a professional printer or should I buy a printer and print them at home ? And what paper to use for best quality ? So many things to think about 😭
@@speraartwork7667 totally!! im planning on making a more instructional step-by-step kind of vid on how I did everything after these more vlog-style videos of me working on opening the shop so hopefully that will answer a bunch of your questions!🙏

hii! this is such a cute video! as a small artist myself, may i ask what brush you used to ink your characters? :o
if you mean my lil plant and demon guys, I’m using “Dry Ink” in procreate!
may i give an idea for the demon and plant dudes to add some textures to them? they're so cuuuuute but they need something that pop✨
these guys have been printed already, but I'll definitely be experimenting more with future designs!🙏✨
Salvation Army was the first thing that came to my mind when I saw the logo. 😂 what province are you from?
LOOL i see that🫣 good ol alberta🤠
