It boggles my mind that Xbots thought that MS would spent billions of dollars to acquire massive entertainment companies, only to lock their media to Third Place Box. MS executives aren't Xbox fans, they're money makers. They're not fanatical to the brand, they're fanatical to the money. The about 300 million PS and Nintendo gamers are a massive source of money, not to mention the billion PC and mobile users out there. Xbox as a brand maybe dying, but MS can and will make good money if they play their cards right and publish good games across multiplatforms. But now they don't even wanna have hot girls in their games lol.
Kingthrashgaming was right cuz he said Microsoft will stop paying or hugely decreased the pay to indie devs to put their game on gamepass and some will start having financial trouble and the fan base that the studio thinks it have on Xbox they'll realize those was game pass fans not their studio fan. Not sure if you missed it PRock but it has been confirmed that Sea of Thieves has began porting as far back as January 2023 as Lucid Games(Former PlayStation 2nd Party partner) is working with Rare on the port. Lucid Games announced in January 2023 they were working with Rare on Sea Of Thieves. It's just at the time they announced this partnership the public had no idea this included developing a PS5 port as well. Anyway keep the great work in spreading the truth in these UA-cam streets.

I have been saying for years that exclusives matter to grow consoles sales. Console sales matter to grow the userbase. A large userbase attracts 3rd party games, because if your userbase is too small, 3rd party devs will not port games to the system if they cannot get enough sales to pay their wages.
It's not rocket science. Every step Xbox has made away from that model is an extra nail in the Xbox console coffin. Game Pass, Day and Date, exclusives are bad, console sales don't matter, only engagement matters, console gens are bad, games must be playable on every platform where the gamer is located. All those points are nails hammered into the Xbox console coffin that has led to the death of Xbox consoles. Once your userbase dries up, it's the end. There is no going back. The platform is simply unsupported and dies.

It's not the fact that exclusives don't matter. It's more if there affordable in the current climate. I don't see exclusives disappearing but suspect exclusives in the future will be more indie or AA.

Microsoft has never been successful in hardware, this is par for the course. I'm surprised Xbox hardware lasted this long TBH.
When regular ass gamers can tell you Xbox strategy won't work, something is wrong with the leadership at the company. I fully believe they should have cleaned house and got competent leadership that could have saved Xbox if they used the resources available properly. They could have used all that money to secure must have exclusive content, without owning the companies, and invested heavily in the companies they do own, to get meaningful exclusive content.
I believe it's too late now. Too much damage has been done to Xbox reputation, and gamers of all ages do not trust them. They have pivoted, 180'd, and straight up lied to many times, and their track record of sub par content is way too long.
Phil Spencer isn't always lying to the Xbox community, like during the FTC trials when he said that Sony would collect their 30% from MS's game sales on PSN and use that money to foreclose on them.
I understand why the Xbox content creators were playing dumb and let the ship hit an iceberg. It was lucrative for them to do so. I don’t know why the Xbox gamers let the ship crash for. Really good video Puertorock77! I do want to push back on you saying that it takes at least a year to port a game to PlayStation. I'm sure it does for some projects but take The Last of Us on PS3 for instance. It took Naughty Dog 7 months to port it from PS3 to PS4. That was the duration that Naughty Dog devs themselves said the project for porting the game took. And that was a tough game to port because the architecture was so different and they replaced almost all texture assets with higher res versions etc.

I just saw Post Up xbox podcast and all the panel members were referencing the VGC article about Phil Spencer saying he's a visionary and the article is trash. Phil could sell them a game like POO and they would claim its the GOTY cause its exclusive and on gamepass. I really dont understand how they cant see if YOU dont buy the games the Devs aren't going make the return they need for their next project.
Some of ya'll might not be old enough to remember Sega fanboys back when the Dreamcast was competing with PSX and N64 but these Xbox fanboys remind me of them from back in the day. Like they were ride or die for that console, I had 2 friends who bought that Dreamcrash console when it came out and were shitting on the upcoming Playstation 2 because the Dreamcast had online functionality. Me having grown up with Sega Genesis being in the know of Sega's financial problems, because I'd read the articles in those old gaming magazines instead of the opinion pieces and hype men. I knew Sega was going to eventually go software publisher because of the one two punch failures of both the Saturn and Dreamcast, back to back, Sega was hemorrhaging money for 10 or so years at this point. Next thing you know, Sonic Adventure 2 is being released at the same time Dreamcast was discontinued, a year later you have Sonic Adventure 2 on Gamecube, Sonic Heroes a multiplatform game on PS2, GameCube and Xbox. Sega is a full on game publisher. And speaking of Xbox, I see a bunch of videos trying to paint Nintendo and Sony fanboys as just as bad or worse than Xbox fans 😂. There's NO equivalence there, and I've encountered some die-hard Zelda fans when I was in a Nintendo fan group and said Breath of the Wild was only OK, and not my personal favorite 3D Zelda. Like they argued me down for hour's, Zelda fans suck but not even they are as bad as Xbox fans. Xbox fans argue with you over Xbox when no one brings up Microsoft in any way shape or form. You could be criticizing a game on Playstation or Nintendo and here they come with "Game Pass" this or "it runs better on Series X" that.

The problem is , it would do that if it was out right now. Sony is making a handheld. Sony has a contract with AMD for development on a handheld and the ps6. When the Xbox handheld comes out, there will be the switch 2, next gen steam deck , PS handheld and whoever else decides to jump in. It will be a crowded market. Xbox has a good opportunity because they already have a library of games that can run on a handheld , the series s games. It’s a golden opportunity.

Right now no one wants to really work for Sony, 3rd parties going forward would be hesitant to make their games exclusive because they are not selling well. And no studios want to be acquired by Sony right now after all of those studio closures!🤷♂️
Sony studios have low morale and are now asked to do more with less. When they already have a bad crunch culture.
Games quality will be affected and their release cadence already is.
Depending solely on third party to carry them now is also extremely risky, because they cannot control the quality!

Exclusives determine were customers choose to spend their money and invest.
And as a publisher as big as Microsoft. With Activision +blizzard +king+ Zenimax+Bethesda +xbox studios. You choose which games you keep as a value add to your platform to bring the people to it. Like the AAA blockbusters. And you choose the games that don't exactly move the needle either way but can go elsewhere and gather a bigger audience and bring in that revenue and fund new ideas!
Xbox already has several games everywhere with the Activision blizzard deal. And with them going to Nintendo platform with the new switch. That's a ton of untapped revenue! And with wow coming to the console platforms that's another huge W.
Xbox is thinking big picture, their intention was always to bring PC to the television. Opening the xbox up with the steam and epic store, gog, etc is an ingenious idea! People are moving to PC more now than ever and it has a massive reach and library. Windows is PC is Xbox! And that's where I think the next xbox will be marketed towards!
Neither Sony nor Nintendo has this reach! And sony is trying everything to expand now and it's struggling. Phil spencer is right. I have been around a while. And these 3 platforms have been fighting over the same userbase for generations. Expansion is needed. Sony knows this, and they know that they can't expand as fast as xbox can.
So they are trying to leverage pc more and cloud more now. They are going to the same place. Xbox is thinking ahead of that already! You can't really knock Microsoft for wanting to lead in the space. When they have that opportunity.

I'm certain all the XB games are coming to PS eventually but it's not going to be games like Starfield etc. on PS5 it's going to be PS6 and why not ? by then it's around 2026 or 2027 and Starfield 2 is already in development for the next XB and 1 generation there after for PS while on XB, Steam, Epic, GOG etc. gamers can enjoy the games Day 1 on either XB or PC and why not ? I've never understood why PC & Android get involved with XB vs PS in the first place and neither does Sony cause why else is PS losing they're Exclusives to PC then ? PC isn't competition for either MS or Sony or Nintendo and Sony finally sees that it's just more $.
I'm a Multi Platform User from Nintendo, Sega, PS, XB, PC and wouldn't mind if the XB can play any game or if any device can play any XB game I just choose to play on XB as Main console because it makes the most sense to me in terms of Price & Performance & User Friendly & Policy but just because some Ponies like this Homie keeps thinking that Sony has a right to screw me over as gamer with exclusivity and upgraded versions over and over again cause somehow XB can provide backwards compatibility while PS can't or won't they keep saying XB is dead and can't compete with PS so all the XB games are coming to PS cause they rather Bend over for some Clapping by Sony and want other's to join their Raw & Bleeding Bungholes.. just keep that Dripping away from me..

Either way Sony hasn't got 1 cent from me since 2006 while i played all their games on PS4 Pro and the PS5 Pro won't be any different and I'm looking forward to replay some PS4 games like Bloodborne besides PS5 games like Demon souls and wouldn't mind some PS4 remasters like Bloodborne or new games like Bloodborne 2 but i don't think it's coming no matter how much the players ask for it so I'll settle for the original and why not cause almost a Decade later it's still a Climax of a game but anyways going back for some Dragon's Dogma 2 and later maybe 1 cause i still prefer that Ending it's perfect for a Ganondorf & Demise run and then Defeat myself with Zelda & Link and vice versa it's Epic! so keep Dreaming about XB games on PS I'm sure it will happen some day xD just not today.
Xbox does not have any 'games.' The word 'games' is referring to high quality AAA masterpiece games, not mediocre Game Pass filler. PlayStation Ponies are not begging to play Xbox games. The games are low quality. PlayStation Ponies are just curious about Xbox games and want to rub their opponents face in the dirt, but once the games are openly available and exposed meh, the demand will drop. Bethesda used to make AAA masterpiece games, but they have declined. That is why they were up for sale. Starfield was just a load screen simulator designed to run on the lame Series S with limited RAM.

XB games like Halo, Gears, Forza, Flight Simulator etc. scores are around 8 and 9 the same scores as PS games and if your talking about Masterpieces Sony only has The last of us PS3 that ranks below Zelda & Mario etc. Sony games like GoW, Spiderman, Horizon etc. are just Basic games with more Graphics & Cinemas then the average games that's all u can see that in Reviews & Scores and that's fine it's the only reason i buy those games and the only reason to get a Pro.

What's funny is that a siphoning strategy is how Playstation entered and still implements to an extent. But that was against Saturn and N64 which were utterly dwarfed by Playstation. But like you said, a partial exclusive wouldn't make sense for Xbox because Xbox is continuing to sell terribly from their worst gen. And likely will be the new worst gen. Sega tapped out after 2 with failed add ons and handhelds.
