Geoff has a special way doing a song that makes the most of his talent. Love his arrangements on "The headless horseman" and "16 tons" as well as this one. !!
Wonderful reaction! Please react to Geoff's version of Tennessee Ernie Ford's Sixteen Tons. I remember hearing Mr. Ford on the radio when I was young. See as I an old enough to remember Mr. Ford on the radio. As well as his black and white TV show. My goal this year is to finally retire. To enjoy however many years God will grant me. I also really love your reactions to Diana Ankudinova. That young lady is a force of nature.
Thank you for reacting to people who deserve more recognition like Geoff Castellucci, Morissette Amon...Tim Foust. Apparently i need both Bass and 1st octave subharmonic notes with the high falsetto, whistle notes in my life. Plus all three are in the 5 octave practical range. Combined they break all pianos, A0-D8.
If anyone watching this video doesn't know the meaning behind this amazing Beatles classic, please look it up. Thank you for this great reaction to this incredible version of this powerful song. Thank you for all that you do for all of us! ~Be Blessed
Thanks Schnell for doing my request it was great seeing your reaction to this Awesome cover! Especially your expression "PRICELESS" & your're welcome for the request! I wanted to dedicate this video to you because You're a wonderful genuine, kind, sweet , AWESOME human being ! It put a smile on my face seeing your reaction! Great job once again Schnell & also welcome back from a well deserved break! My answer is to be a better human being this year & continue growing each day! So I'm sending much love from here in the states! Thanks again Schnell! 😀😀😀😀
Whenever I hear Geoff singing I can never shake the feeling that he's just showing-off. Like he's constantly saying, "Hey everybody, check out my range!"
Talk about flexibility.....sweet lord. And I agree when you harmonize with yourself it’s so unique and dope. Dude is a straight up beast! And my goals for 2021 are to hopefully get a house cause apartments are just a no go lol. And I actually want to learn my guitar as well as piano. And a few other instruments but I must learn those 2 first lol. Great video as always my friend and again it’s so nice to have you back! All love ❤️✌🏼
This reaction is awesome! Definitely check out more of Geoff‘s stuff and more VoicePlay! By the way, the low note is an E1! Same note as Oogie Boogie Song ending.
What a "MANLY" man. Deep pedal tone at the end sounded like a controlled burp. Awesome. No, seriously, that man can sing!!!! I was a tenor, so Bass sounds wonderful to me also.
It's amazing how all the a capella groups work together Tim Foust with Avi Caplan and Geoff have shared their talents and tricks to prefect their skills.
In 2021 I'm trying to achieve omnipresent intergalactic cosmic oneness. On another note you should check out his cover of 16 tons. It's another that will give you a Geoffgasm
Great song and Geoff makes it his own with the Bass. I think the last low note was an E1. The whole performance is awesome. Geoff doing this by himself reminds me of the things Peter Hollens does. Great editing and performances. Great Post, Schnell. P.S., I think you would like his performance of 16 Tons. I love it.
8:18 for anyone who wonders how his sub harmonics are so powerful. He has practiced for a long time and he is VERY good at EQing his covers. this one he misses by a fraction of a second on the low note boost. for a split seconds before he says night, you can feel the silence get heavy, i am fairly sure that it due to a already low and almost silent hum/buzz noise in the audio being boosted.. we cant really hear it as much as feel it. it show that the EQ for that note is boosted. He sung that note flawlessly and super clean, then just raised the low and lowered the high(as he explains in his low singing tutorials).
You said you like when artists harmonize with themselves. So, Peter Hollens and Lindsey Stirling collabbed years ago covering the main theme song for Skyrim. Peter layered himself over a hundred times and Lindsey did her thing with the violin as only Lindsey can do. They made a very fun music video! It's a Must-Watch in my opinion! If you have seen or heard it already, that's okay and I understand if you don't want to record something you have already seen. Luv your reactions!
Awesome reaction to an incredible performance which I had not seen before. I will be listening to Geoff's performance again. I plan on starting my own UA-cam channel in the near future, although I will not be reacting to music. I have been a statistician for thoroughbred racing for nearly 26 years and want to teach people how to use my stats to help determine the true contenders in a race.
This is the latest explanation Paul McCartney has given regarding the meaning of this song. Source Wikipedia. I had been doing some [poetry readings] in the last year or so because I've got a poetry book out called , and when I would read "Blackbird", I would always try and think of some explanation to tell the people … So, I was doing explanations, and I actually just remembered why I'd written "Blackbird", you know, that I'd been, I was in Scotland playing on my guitar, and I remembered this whole idea of "you were only waiting for this moment to arise" was about, you know, the black people's struggle in the southern states, and I was using the symbolism of a blackbird. It's not really about a blackbird whose wings are broken, you know, it's a bit more symbolic.
I adore this song too, and Geoff's version has quickly risen on my playlists to one of my most played. I love his range, I love how smooth his voice is going between that whole range. Geoff himself says he considers himself a baritone with a bass range, but regardless of what notes he's singing there is something soothing and beautiful about listening to him. I'm glad to see you back, and hope you will keep coming back to both Geoff and Voiceplay!!! As for what I want to accomplish, I really want to get back into having better habits that I've sort of let wane with everything that has gone on.
From 9yrs ago 15 YEAR OLD MORISSETTE AMON in the Lamars house singing, Before it explodes nice to see Dave Lamar and Morissette Amon are still close after all these years infact they got engaged on 22 Dec 2020 Also from 7yrs ago, Broken hearted by Dave Lamar and Morissette Amon
wonderful and heartfelt reaction from you Schnell...ive come to expect nothing less then excellence from you young lady!! Please do me a favor....and check out Geoff Castellucci's latest rendition titled .."AINT NO SUNSHINE".....orginally sung by bill withers (whithers)?.......ive just heard it and think that is is truly EPIC!! However...i would rather see your analysis and comments about it! if you loved this rendition of "BLACKBIRD" From him...then u will most definitely enjoy his rendition of AINT NO SUNSHINE!! take care and God Bless and....Happy Easter!!
Geoff is just amazing! Great reaction. I'd recommend his newest cover, Sixteen Tons - it's got more of his impressive self-harmonization and is a fantastic take on a classic song.
Real. Honest. Truthful. LOVE your reaction!!! And coming frone such a sweet beautiful young lady!!! Your channel is quite refreshing!!! You got a new avid follower here!!👍👍👍
I would recommend bare necessities, headless horseman, 16 tons and high and dry covers. Look forward to watching more of your reactions! Voice play also has released a few new covers as well carry on my wayward son and unchained melody cover. My goal for 2021 is to be more productive and Idk if this a goal but to go somewhere without having to wear a mask.
Geoff's 5+ octave range is insanely impressive. As you probably already know, bass singers tend to have a larger than average range... just not this clean or broad.
Yup. But to be precise - he doesn't have 5 octaves range. Sub-harmonics and falsettos doesn't count as a vocal range in music. So, to be even more precise, whenever you hear someone has more than 3 octaves, you can call it BS.
@@Mescherje, sorry, I have to 100% disagree with you. If you're making the note -- regardless how it's done -- then, yes, it's part of the your vocal range.
Love watching your reactions Schnell and have missed them this past month or so. Home Free recently dropped their cover of Don Mclean's American Pie and it features Don Mclean. Would love to see your reaction to it!
He did a great job with the song, as well as "16 Tons". For a real treat though, don't forget to check out PostModern Jukebox...can't wait to see your reaction to them !!!!!!!
He should do asmr videos. Let's make it happen! And none of that sexual nonsense ASMR turned into. I want to hear him reading poems or ikea furniture instructions with snarky commentary. His A0 and Tim Foust make the components inside the phones oscillate when those notes come out of stage speakers. It's actually insane, the wavelengths and sub 40Hz frequencies probably move through the entire body, i want to feel that.
To by and by complete your collection of bass singers harmonizing with themselves, you could react to Elliott Michael Robinson, the guy who sang the bass lines for DSM in Pitch Perfect 2, one of the former basses of Home Free. He did a nice cover of Shape of You.

That low note is created by using a special technique called vocal fry. He has a video where he explains it as well as caution about the danger of learning it.
