  • In this video we’ll be crocheting a mesh tunic using double crochet and chain stitches.
    I will show you how to take your measurements and how to use them to create this piece.
    This piece it made up of four rectangles, two large rectangles for the front and back panels and two small rectangles for the sleeves, then we sew the pieces together and I will guide you through each step of the process.
    What you need:
    Your choice of yarn and a corresponding hook (go up a hook size if you want your stitches to be looser)
    Tape measure
    Stitch. Markers
    Scissors
    Tapestry needle
    I used:
    Lion Brand Comfy Cotton Blend Yarn, #3 Light, 50% Cotton, 50% Polyester, 7oz/200g, 392yds/358m, recommended hook size J-10/6.0mm (This yarn has been discontinued. The website yarnsub.com is great resource that you can use to find suitable yarn substitutions)
    I used a 7.0mm Hook

    I love this tunic! I plan to make this as a gift for my daughter and without her measurements I'm at a loss. I know that she wears a size 10, can you give me some guidance to help when you are making it or someone else?

    • @toyainstitches
      @toyainstitches  Місяць тому +1

      The steps would be the same, you just need to get a standard measurements chart, which will give you an idea of what her bust, armhole depth and sleeve length would be. You can also use yourself as a reference point to figure out how long to make it depending your height difference.
      I like the measurements guide from the craft yarn council.
      media.craftyarncouncil.com/sites/default/files/images/standards/CYC_YarnStandards-2018-11-06.pdf
      But a quick google search would give many other options.
      If you have more questions as you work through the piece, please reply to this comment and I will help as best I can. ❤
