- I recently introduced the Monport 80w laser into my shop and it is an absolute dream come true. This beast is going to raise the ceiling very high for all I can do with leather and more. It is an absolute game changer. Watch as my family and I do our best to get this huge machine into my new shop. There were some bumps on the way of getting it all set up but now that I've got it all figured out I am really excited to get to work on some new projects.
If you are interested in a laser machine like this, make sure you check out Monport and let me know if you have any questions! Monport was cool enough to give me a code so that you can get 10% off storewide: Morrison10

This is great! I'm so glad to hear you’re loving the Monport 80W laser! I recently got mine set up too, and I can't believe the possibilities it opens up for working with leather and other materials. The precision of the cuts and the detail it achieves are nothing short of amazing.
Oh man, this is so freaking awesome! Glad you were able to get it working. I know how frustrating it can be when you’re super excited to get something going but there’s delays on making it happen. Happy for you. I look forward to seeing more vids on this awesome machine! ☺️
Yes! That’s exactly the frustration. But then finally getting it working makes it that much more satisfying! But thank you so much.
really glad to see this video pop up in my feed!! Loved watching the process to the end.
I thought of you when I posted it! Let me know if you ever have any questions or need anything!
Loving your videos. Came over from TikTok and excited to get into all these.
Wow, that is a nice piece of equipment that will make your work easy and percise.
Wish you the best and good luck.
No doubt! Thank you.
I’m sure those two weeks were rough, but the relief and happiness must of been great! Excited to see what comes
The joy was overwhelming!! Thank you.
That is so cool. I am so jealous. Have fun with the machine !
I appreciate it!
Beautiful craftsmanship!! Love it!! Gotta put an order in real soon to elevate the look of my watch.
I’d love to make you one!! And thank you.
Wow!! Congratulations!! That looks so cool and amazing!!!
Thank you!!
Bro! Thanks for sharing!
This is cool! I've been able to take my leatherwork to a whole new level, and I couldn't be happier with my Monport. It's definitely an investment worth making if you're serious about leathercraft.
so happy for u bro
keep up the good work 🔥
I appreciate you.
Say hello to the leather watch straps 🎉
Finally 😶
firstly. Congratulations mate! that laser will make you happy!
Second. You need to add some air to the laser. for faster and cleaner cuts. Just add some air with pressure pump into the burning zone and you will see how clean your cuts can be. And all burning and smoke marks will get away from leather.
Third. Wear a glasses when workin on it. Rly. No clues. Just wear a pair of glasses.
Fourth After cutting give leather a shower, it will help to get away dark edges and marks. Or use a gringer like in your vid. For smell i prefer to use coffee beans or tea leaves. it will help with smell
Nice video, man. Having used a laser before on leather, I feel your frustration. On the brighter side, in addition to cutting out your leather pieces; you can now cut out templates out of acrylic and sell them.
I was cringing when you started and hadn't gone through an alignment. I feel like that should have been part of a quickstart guide laminated to the lid. If you haven't already upgraded the air assist and exhaust fans, do those next, you'll get much cleaner/better cuts and engraving as a bonus, you won't need to clean the mirrors and lenses as often.
The mirrors will drift out of alignment over time with machine vibrations, so make sure to check and adjust them.
Congrats on your machine!
Good to know! Thank you! I upgraded the air assist and exhaust very soon after this!
Thank you for sharing this video!
beautiful work
Great job
Lol that’s how that stuff works out for me.
😂😂😂
I know some leather workers get all bent out of shape over using modern equipment, i know of some who wont even use a sowing machine, i believe if the technologies are there then we should use them to create better products. If you get the chance have a look at road agent leather, his channel is good and he covers this dilema, he also has used s 3d printer for one of his projects and it worked brilliantly. I think i will be buying one of those in the future as it will be pretty good to make tapouts on to cut down on the lining out time for tooling patterns. 4:51
Haha, even before you said mirror alignment I already predicted that was the issue and I am a complete newb as well. My laser is in my garage never used it. Waiting on the water chiller to arrive. BUT I watched a bunch of UA-cam videos.
Congrats on the new machine! I did notice one thing (and I could totally be wrong) but it looks like there’s a lot of smoke floating around/in the laser head. I remember seeing another UA-camr talk about how it could dirty the lens. Probably not a huge deal but thought I’d mention it
Definitely. Thanks for that! I recently upgraded my air assist so it’s no longer an issue!
I thought al monport lasers come with air assist. That's what the website says
First video I've seen of yours. Considering a laser myself. Where do you source your leather from? It looks beautiful.
FYI, you do not need to turn on the laser (with the key) to turn on the controller (release e-stop).
Lol, you are funny, professional hillbilly, you are north of me from what was written on the truck that delivered your new toy
I too am a hillbilly, but I would have set up a pully system attached to the tractor to slide that down. Good job though guys!
Unfortunately, we couldn’t get the tractor in through the gate and around the back of the machine because of where it was set.
Just found this video. Am looking at Monport Lasers. Maybe 80 or 100watt. I looked through your videos to see if you maybe had an update or review of your laser. Just wondering how you're liking it. Any problems or concerns. I'm in the same shoes you were...a total newbie. Any info appreciated
Congrants
Thanks!
❤❤❤
One question regarding laser burned leather: did you figure out how to get rid of the ashes inside of small holes? I mean for outer edges you can trim the edges away but for small holes like in this project there must be a lot of dirt from the burning? And smell on the final product?
Thanks for your openness.
You are so amazing how I wish I could learn from you where your company is
Is your exhaust fan working correctly?
Brilliant! Where can I get that large roll of masking tape? (I don’t know it’s called that. Just made it up. 😂)
I got it off Amazon!
@@MorrisonMade what is it called if you don’t mind, please?
Look for wide painters tape
Excelente maquina felicidades
I don’t believe the machine weighs 600lbs. The whole package with wood crate and all is 600lbs. You could have easily taken the honey comb bed out as well as some of the panels off included the main laser door and then you are left with about 250 lbs which two people could have lifted.
Mine doesn't have the built in chiller and weighs 340LB. You are correct that its not 600 but I bet it weighs every bit of 400 plus
Wait till you realize all that smoke ain’t good for your mirrors.
