I have an omtech blue 80 watt but am moving to the Mira 9
The omtech is a great starter matching and cuts up to 3/4 acrylic
the reason I am upgrading to the Mira 9 is mainly the size and construction
But also the sealed belt fed gantry, the more precise head speed and the tech support in Florida

I have watched several and have found them to be very helpful - I am wondering if you can answer a question for me please - I am going to buy a 60w omtech and am going to put in an inline exhaust fan as recommended but I am a bit unclear on whether I can just add this or if I need to disable the fan in the omtech laser itself - It would seem that more fan is a good thing but just wanted to be sure - thx much

Very much appreciated the video and information. I am just starting off and could not justify to myself spending the $3K price tag on something I had no idea would go past a hobby phase. I know that it isn't out of range considering I bought a diode, but just to start at that level didn't seem prudent. Now, if things go the way I am hoping, for sure I will take the leap right away to the CO2, or better. In watching many of these type videos from others, I am amazed to see their set up with the monster lasers..I would seriously need to consider reworking my whole basement, or renting space at that point. Very much appreciated the advice..

Just curious why Omtech and none of the other CO2 laser manufacturers? Asking because I'm shopping right now and looking to go much larger ($12k-$14k range). I see all sorts of opinions/comparison/etc from Reddit to UA-cam. Was Omtech just who you went with? I'm coming from Glowforge which has worked well but I've pushed it to it's limit. Also considering the option of getting a new CO2 and Fiber.

From this video I have established CO2 is what I am in the market for. The question is, is a OMTech 50W laser what I need? I am totally new to this space, and trying to start a small business from this. I will mainly be cutting wood and acrylic. How thick acrylic/wood can a 50W cut? I think I will need something that can cut at least 3mm acrylic because I also want to make some flight simulator panels for myself and I think 3mm is about the thickness for those. Does the 50W cut it? The 50W is $2,200 + shipping. I could also potentially get the 60W for $2,800+shipping, but I'd prefer to not if I could get away with the 50W.
