I was debating a Palosanto knife because I don't use it enough to warrant spending double on a Chartermade. I have a 3 year old Nobuyoshi and just want a new one that does the job. Not too many reviews on them so thanks for this. I also have mostly Palosanto tools and I can't imagine the knife being anything less than the quality of the others.

Absolutely love this!!! I started working with leather myself a couple of years ago and I have absolutely loved it but I’m still finding my way and this is honestly the most informative video I’ve watched to date! (I’ve watched a lot!) I would also strongly agree with the choice of tools that you have upgraded to. I wish you all the best with your channel and your craft! 👍🏼

Quick question ... when buying sinabroks stitching punch (2 prong and 5 prong) what do you recommend in hole size and spacing (when making small accessories).
      hole: 1.2, 1.5, 2.0 mm
      SPACE: 5.0, 6.0, 7.0 mm
      Help!

I'm just starting and have made a bunch of stuff that some people say I should sell. Eight months ago I was just doing it as a hobby at first because of COVID. Now I have a box of scrap leather and a box of finished products from wallets to key fobs and belt pouches. I do need to sell some stuff so I can buy nicer leather because I'm on a fixed income.

A few years back I found a large and thick section of rubber beside the highway that is about half an inch thick that works for a pound-o mat. Where are those brass handled punches sold at and by whom are they made. I cannot find them on Amazon and I am not sure where to look elsewhere on the net.

    Hi Morris,
First of all, thank you so much for your great tools introduction; Second, I'm new to this hobby and interested in getting skills daily. So I watch UA-cam every day to get what I'm looking for. In a part of this video, I saw you use a polyester thread to stitch your wallet project. I couldn't find it like that so far. Could you please give me a link or every brand and thickness? I appreciate you in advance.

I’m new to leather work & just bought a set of pricking irons from Kemovan Craft tools. They are nice, but the holes sort of disappear from view a minute or so after punching. Of course Sinebroks has a 25% sale & I’m thinking of getting a set of the stitching punches. I plan on hand sewing a lot of wallets, bags & smaller accessories. Would the smallest 1mm/5mm be a good general size to start with?

Do you recommend a good way to sharpen the edge beveller as the blade in them is too hard to reach with regular stropping.
    Enjoyed the video!

In case you haven't found an answer to your question..
You use a piece of sandpaper preferably the finer grit, the better. And using a small metal rod(a stitching needle works well for this) while holding the sandpaper over the needle drag ur edge beveler across the top of the needle. In the OPPOSITE direction that you would normally bevel towards. You can then use a piece of thick paper with jewelers rouge applied to it and repeat the process to essentially hone the beveler to ur desired sharpness.
My process for really dull edge bevelers is:
400 grit > 2000 grit > white rouge on paper > then finish with a few strops on the corner of a thick piece of leather
If my beveler Is kinda sharp but just needs a light honing I do the same process but start either at 2000 grit or the paper with rouge.
      Hope this helps friend.

I was considering buying Palosanto edge bevelers & French edger/skiver. Their contact info provides no email. Only a foreign phone & address. I’m afraid my question & their answer may be lost in translation. I’m trying to shave the cost down a bit by buying 1 French edger (handle & blade) & 1 different size blade (using the handle I already have from the 1st French edger). Do you know if the handles are interchangeable? Their website only says, “Combine the best blade with your own handle to create your own edger”. I cannot make my own handle, but don’t know if I can use the handle from the first & switch them out as needed. Any help would be appreciated!

For new people, a pricking iron is not for punching holes, it is for marking where you are going to use a single hole punch. As a beginner I suggest you get a set of multiprong stitching chisels.
