WAR is so underrated but they are such an important part of my childhood. I was maybe 10 yrs when this came out and I remember all the older guys in the neighborhood with their lowriders cruisin' around listening to WAR, especially Sundays in the park. I wanted a lowrider SO BAD!! I know every WAR song and this just takes me back to me being a kid, to the old neighborhood, and not being able to wait until I was a teenager and be totally cool! I love WAR! My favorite WAR song is either "Summer" or "All Day Music" or "The Cisco Kid" depending on my mood.
Same. "Summer "is a must!
This is a nice song, that takes me back. The one you really wanna hear though is Spill the Wine full version. Another good one is Summer. Maybe hit it before the summer ends
This is a great band Biz and you should do a deep dive into their catalog. Cisco Kid, Low Rider, All Day Music, Spill the Wine with Eric Burdon are just some of their best.
WAR "The Cisco Kid",, "The World Is A Ghetto",, "Slippin' Into Darkness",, "Gypsy Man",, "All Day Music",, "Summer",, Me And Baby Brother",, "Four Cornered Room" & "City,, Country,, City"
Yes! All of the above!
@@tammieparrishmiller3669 Thanks.
Couldn't agree more with your picks
@@happymethehappyone8300 You definitely know your music and have great taste! I've complimented you on other occasions.
@@tammieparrishmiller3669 Thank You So Much,, You're Very Kind..I Am A Former Singer/Songwriter/Musician,, So That Probably Has A Lot To Do With My Knowledge & Taste.
This is one of those songs that just puts a smile on your face. I usually don’t care that much for songs with a social or political message but this one does 2 things, it entertains and gives a positive message.
Heh, I remember hearing this on the radio when I was a kid back when. The seventies were a time of racial amelioration, despite some of the backlash to busing and such. For a time back then the country was committed to making MLK's dream come true. But change never comes easy. Two steps forward, one step back as it were. There's hope in the kids though, as you noted. War was a rock-soul-funk band from Los Angeles that for a time backed up Eric Burdon after he left The Animals. Check out "Spill the Wine" a.s.a.p. War went on to define the sound of the seventies with such songs as "The World Is a Ghetto", "Slippin' into Darkness", "The Cisco Kid", "Why Can't We Be Friends?", "Low Rider", and "Summer". Good stuff!
Thanks again! This song got a lot of play on the radio in the 70's but "Spill The Wine" and "Cisco Kid" were great songs from them too.
I dated a black boy in the 7th grade and I swear to you by God, I did not see color. I just liked his personality and he was cute as could be! It's a strange thing to not see color. I don't know if it's ever happened to any of you out there. It shouldn't matter anyway! So, I love this song so much and have for decades! Biz, you are so right! We need this now more than ever! Peace man!
I've never seen this. I've of course heard it hundreds of times. Love how they put the video together. ❤️✌️
💯🤯 War was a great group‼Love this‼🔥
"Why Can't We Be Friends" has such a funky, feel-good vibe that all the younger folks danced to it, loved it & sang it‼I loved War from the very first time I heard them‼☮ ❤ 🎶
Back in 1974? or so this song was on the radio ALL the time, especially the station I was listening to in Delaware, about 5-6 times a day, maybe more. It got to be almost a theme song for everyone , and we all made a lot of new friends that summer. Good times, great music. MORE WAR. "The Cisco Kid", "Summertime", "Livin' In The Red", "All Day Music" That's a start.
Aww, thanks for this, Biz! Perfect vibe for today. I agree, this is genius. The delivery makes the message everything.
If you want another melting pot kind of song, their's Latin Fusion with *Malo's Suavecito* People used to blast that song in Oakland when they cruised the Lake.. Carlos *Santana's* brother Jorge is in that band.
I just seen this band at Jazz Alley Last Saturday. We made friend with the band members 11 years ago. Now whenever they are in the area they call us and we get free tickets and hang with them backstage! Really cool. Next on their list is Cisco Kid and Low Rider.
I love this group!
The white suit!! That's hilarious! Thanks for the peek into your world! Great song, too.
I thank my good lord that i grew up with this music.
WAR Often Toured With Santana & Malo (Jorge Santana's Band..R.I.P.) They Were All Large Multi-Ethnic Groups With Tons Of Great Music.
Nice pick Biz! The Cisco Kid is another great from WAR.
You truly are authentic. I love that you actually comprehend the lyrics!
Sincerely,
Teh ( Queens, NYC)
60-70's music was about peace, getting along with others etc. It really came out in the music, and comedic shows. It seems to have gone back several steps for some reason. Santana, K C. and the Sunshine band, Aretha, just a whole bunch of duets etc. It's sad really, but the music and comedy still shines through. Love it.
I watch all of your reactions to the end, I find you to be honest and sincere. Thank you for your time and reactions!
And thank you for watching
DOPE/FIRE/AWESOME.....FANTASTIC!!! another great from war "Summer"
On the subject of interracial relationships, this song came out in 1975. I don't know when this video was made. Interracial marriage was ILLEGAL until the 14th Amendment was passed in 1967 so it was still a big deal in the 70s.
Biz! You’re pumping them out so fast I can’t keep track!!
Lol I gotta stay active
The song was also played during the cold war in space, for peace on earth.
A classic song from an Afro-Latino funk band that hardly gets the credit they deserve
This was popular.Love their music
Eric Burton of the Animaks joined this group.
Great jam! Great message. I remember the melody of this song.
Race relations should just straight up be easier now than when I was a teen. We all got along fine. Laughed at the same shit. I blame all these politicians
This is great!! Thank you, for making me feel good.
I’ve seen them twice and they are GREAT in concert.
Why can’t we be friends?! I’m gonna be humming this all day.
War is/was a great band; I saw Eric Burdon and War at the Fillmore in '68.
Man awesome review we need more of this in life ✌️
Wasn’t that the gangsta leader who boxed Iron Mike and got his a$$ handed to him?? 😂😂👵🏼☮️❤️
Great album
There song Summer is a great song.
Checkout Slave and their song call Slide with one on the best guitar solo ever
WAR is such a great band. A lot of great songs.
You should do yourself a favor and check out the tune Slipping Into Darkness. But make sure you do the original from the All Day Music album. It's about seven minutes long, but it's badass. There's a short version, with a quicker tempo out there, but it doesn't hold a candle to the original Imo.
War, one of da baddest!!!
GYPSY MAN long version, THE SOUTHERN PART OF TEXAS, ALL DAY MUSIC.
React to Black And White by Three Dog Night and people got to be free by The Rascals and Everyday People by Sly and the Family Stone
I have all their albums on vinyl.

My grand dad that raised me loved everyone that was worth his time. But he told me. " Birds of the feather, flock together." It sounded harsh back then. But was he wrong?
Please react to WAR -Cisco Kid -Spill the Wine -Thanks!!!
I’ll be you’re friend Biz.
I appreciate that, Friend
I am an Ashkenazi Jewish person and I don’t look any thing like the Jewish man playing chess with the Palestinian And you ask me, “How do I know ?”
